I bought a 966 about 3 months ago, and I've run into so many of the same issues with lack of info. I'm also just using two couplers for now on one of the rear remotes to run by cutter and baler, but I eventually plan to convert both rear remotes to pioneer. I've also got a loader I need to install on the front, so I've actually contemplated just redoing everything and putting in a 4 function control.

Replace the O- rings in the original tractor couplers, the adapters may stop leaking. On the Case, they make aluminum brackets that you bolt to the tractor and clamp onto the quick connects. Holds everything in place so you don't have to fight them. Check with your hydraulic shop they should have them. Miss seeing that old case out in the fields behind my house.

What about the pioneer couplers that have a ball tip on the male coupler, do companies still not use them? They do sell them. Thanks
