I think the fact that he did not expect Dakota to pay tribute to him the way she did at the awards ceremony speaks so much about Antonio. He doesn't do things to be rewarded later or get good words from it, he just do them because for him it is the fundamental thing to do -- love, care, understand, be present. What a wonderful person.

I love my biological father and my stepdad the same. My stepdad doesn’t want to be introduce as a stepdad but simply Dad. And i call my biological father Papa. And both of them call me “my loving daughter”.

That’s imo weird that he wants to dictate what you call him. He can be a huge influential figure in your like and even be seen as a father figure or even a dad but he definitely should not be deeming himself as such or demanding to be called so. Strikes me as weird or insecure.

My stepmother has always been more of a parent to me than my biological ones. Even after the divorce I'm still close to her and have her on speed dial.
How I wish my 3 stepson same of you.But it’s not easy for me because one of my stepson never respect me at all.Until he questioned his father (why his father marry me despite his grandmother don’t like me)It’s very painful to hear that.Whatever I do good he always finding my mistakes.

I love this. My only issue is the additon of "former" to the title step-dad because of the divorce, especially since Banderas has been a part of her life for 20 plus years. A biological parent is not referred to as a "former" father or mother after a divorce regardless of the time married before the child arrived or if they aren't active in the child's life. My personal belief is that once you open your life and heart to a child and count them a one of your own then that should always be their part in your life.

My parents were divorced when I was about 11 yrs old. We never saw my dad again. My mom married my step-dad about 1 1/2 later. Even though he died a 2017, he will forever be none to me as dad. He took me & my brother in as if we were his own kids. I love him for that b/c I married a man with a child & it's hard. I miss him everyday. He was a great dad.

When I was married to my first husband, we decided not to show our problems to our only daughter. We separated and she never saw a fight, instead she was used to us celebrating holidays, birthdays and enjoying each others extended family. When I remarried, I decided to have a good relationship with my new husband's former wife and cultivate my own relationship with his son.
Twenty eight years later, my stepson calls me his other mother, my daughter feels that my husband was the father figure she needed and he remains her friend and confidant...Now my daughter is 31, my stepson is 30 and they share a brother who is 25, and I am still close to my ex-husband and his family...I believe that the more you open your heart to keep all relationships that you have during your lifetime, you absolutely enrich your life forever

So he did his best with his new wife and family: invested love, support, time and fun with them. I expected that from him, knowing his good nature, because it is fair and right thing to do. And of course, acting like that provides reward, as you receive what you have given, and makes you happy.This should be the rule, not the exception. Don't you think?

But this story warmed my heart and made me realize that it’s depends on a person’s character. I really appreciate those stepdads that taking real father role and raises their step kids well. My mom had a stepdad. I didn’t know it until I was a teenager, but the man I’d always called “Papa” was not my biological grandfather. But I didn’t care and I still don’t. Both of our lives were richer and happier for having him in it. I never met my biological grandfather and I never cared too. Both of them have passed away now and I miss Papa every day.

Love and benevolent parenting and kindness and humanity is.
My dad is my hero, he has been there for me no matter what. I wasn't an easy child growing up and was wild as a teen but my dad stayed steadfast in my life. He is my best friend. I would be lost without him. My mom on the other hand, eh not so much. But that's ok cause my dad was the best mom as well as a great father.

Although it's hard to fact check all the things mentioned in this video, I like the tone of it. Not often do you find a video about celebrities that is without prejudice and disdain. In fact you speak quite positive of all people concerned, without omitting negative things that happened in their lives.
The take away for all divorced parents. Remain civil to your ex for the sake of the children. They are literally a product of both of you. Anything hurtful, undermining or bad you do or say to your ex will be internalized and undermine the confidence of your children by a factor of 10. So remain civil to the ex for the sake of innocent children.

He is my favorite actor . I can't believe melanie divorced him. I mean he was there for you all those years and there for your children.
My real dad died when I was 14 yrs old and he’s always been an unspoken hero… he been my drive in life and I’m very thankful for knowing him for as long as I did and I know he’s never not there either I feel him all round and believe he is proud of me…. About 10yrs ago my mom met a man that closely holds up to his standards… for the last ten years he been my rock and my best friend along with my mother he backs me and believes in me just like a real father should… he doesn’t replace nor does he want to but he’s been a really good influence in my life and I’m thankful to not only have one dad but I have two one hero up in heaven and my step dad! I wouldn’t change this for the world! That’s not saying I don’t miss my real dad I do and would love to see him just once and I really do miss him… I’m just very thankful for what my life has brought me and accept it and that’s having the privilege of having two dads!

I think it's very special that they've created such a successful blended family. I'm a child of divorced parents and a blended family. Which was not a success at all. Jealousy and abuse were a big part of the problems. Right now I'm a divorced parent of one, nearly adult, daughter. I would have loved to have a good relationship with her father but I can't. Too much toxicity has been part of the marriage. So, well done Banderas/Griffith/Johnson family.

I'm spaniard and I remember perfectly when Antonio was explainnig in a show how his mother finished yelling louder and louder with a big smile, triying to make Melanie understand spanish like It was a question of volumen and the lenguage barrier inexistent.
