the 2014 cars sounded much different to any other year of the V6 hybrids. It's hard to describe in words but the difference is definitely their. Its like a slightly lower pitch rumble. 2015 is somewhere in between the 2014 and 2016 cars and from 2016 they have sounded quite similar each year. The cars now seem slightly higher pitched and quite a bit louder but they sound washed out and kind of metallic if that makes any sense. either way i quite like the V6's from 2016 onwards, and unlike most f1 fans stuck in the past, I understand the severity of the climate crisis and why things need to change... but omg the v10's and V12's feed that sound to my ears every second of the day...

Gotta admit that the 2014 cars sound kinda weird. But 2019/2020 sounded very good. They ain't changing the engines in 2021.
they just need to get rid of the MGU H, it sucks up all the sound. Theres a video of 2018 F1 cars with MGU H off and they sound waaay better
