Just is case anyone is worried about choking hazards with the little guy, he is never left unattended with the dice or checkers. We always play together! He really does love those blue checkers. 😁😉
Jason. Excuse my username. I have a idea for a backgammon product aimed at new players. Maybe we could talk about working on it together and co brand with your channel
Hi Jason, my wife and I enjoy your content. We are on the fence between the magnetic and the larger tournament board. Thank you for putting us into the Crisloid site.
Hi Fred! Thanks so much! I'm glad you two are enjoying the videos. 😀
It's a tough decision, especially because they're so close in price. It really comes down to if you want portability or not. I love the magnetic and my full sized equally and I don't know which I would pick if I could only pick one, haha. My wife would definitely pick the magnetic one though. It's just very portable and less intimidating. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them. You can't go wrong with Crisloid. Good luck! 😀
Great job guys. Fun to watch.
Thanks Jay! Cheers! 😃
Thanks for turning me on to this board. Just bought mine.
Awesome! Which color did you go with? They're such great coffee shop boards. We rarely leave without ours, haha. Cheers! 😀
Great Stuff Bri and Jason! Love the clever comparison shots. You guys are sharp. Always a joy watching your videos. Keep ‘em coming. Cheers you two!
Hey Jason! Thanks a lot and thanks for stopping by! We appreciate all your support!
We've got a wacky one coming up haha. It's more of a creative/goofy piece about the journey of discovering backgammon. I need to shoot a lot of footage for it yet, but it should be fun. That's the hope at least 😅
Cheers! 😃
@@blunderblots can’t wait to see it. It’s your origin story 😃 Gonna be dope I’m sure.
@@spentgrain Hah! I hope so. It is and it isn't. I'm hoping a lot of backgammon players will be able to see their own journey in it as well. Hopefully get a little chuckle along the way too. 😄
Thanks for posting this. I’m new to the game and I’ve been looking for a small magnetic set to use when studying from books. This looks perfect. Also, I love your channel. All the best to both of you.
Hello and thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. They're perfect as study boards. I use mine for that very reason quite often. It's nice to physically look at the board verses just looking at a book that's for sure. Cheers! 😀
Thanks for the suggestion. I got my own blue/white one the other day. Love the board. The magnetic checkers in mine are just magnetic enough to keep them from moving around if jostled, but not nearly strong enough to stay put when stop up like you demonstrated. Interesting difference. Loved that mine came with precision dice.
Hi Todd! Awesome! They’re really so great on the go. Glad you’re enjoying yours. Interesting on the magnetism. Definitely more of a firm grab I think is there purpose. But we're able to put them away on the board if we're careful about not bumping them too hard.
Thanks for watching and cheers! 😃
I purchased the Legacy Hops magnetic version and have the same experience. Most of the pieces are strong enough to stay put if I prop up the board, but about 8 (4 red and 4 yellow) of them slide down. This makes me sad! I LOVE everything else about the board , it feels so high quality, but the inconsistent magnetic strength triggers my OCD. I can’t stop propping up the board and watching some pieces slide down.
Great overview of these travel boards. I'm at the airport bound for Costa Rica and im lugging a full-size board with me 🤣 It is a bit of an ouchie that they are the same price as full size boards...but i think you cover that concern well. Going to my first tournament in Detroit in a few weeks - largely inspired by your videos. Cheers!
Thank you! I think the big eye opener for us was taking it on the plane with us to Virginia. For that trip, there's no way we would have been able to bring a board without checking an extra bag, so it really was awesome that way.
Your first tournament?! Nice! Thank you for sharing that, you made my day! 😃
Love your videos by the way. I used to have a pipe channel a good 8 years ago actually, haha. I don't find as much time now a days, but there's nothing like a nice pipe, with good company and watching a sun set. Cheers and safe travels!
@@blunderblots I suggest backgammon with cigars
@@bold2013 Now that sounds like a great evening!
@@blunderblots we should make it happen some day (I live in south eastern MN)
@@bold2013 Definitely! If nothing else I'm hoping to get to the Madison tournament as well as Minnesota's 😁
Shared on our page.
Thank you and thanks for watching! Cheers! 😀
Beautiful video as always 👌
I would love to buy one but shipping and taxes to europe are about +150$ 😢
Thank you! 😀 Yeah, that really makes it rough, that's for sure...
As usual great review Bri and Jason. The boards are great too. I was already thinking of finally buying a crisloid for myself. Unfortunately for me the price kills them - they are more expensive than the big ones. Too bad :( because I really wanted to have one. Unfortunately, duty and VAT will come and it will be over 600usd and that's a slight exaggeration.
Thank you! 😃 I definitely enjoy my full sized board as well from Crisloid. I know the duty and VAT adds up fast though ☹
Great overview and video on this product. Can’t wait to get one of these smaller magnetic ones -It’s going to be an excellent addition to our game room. Quick question- will you be able to customize the fields like their travel sets or are the points and fields standardized?
Hi Andrew! Thanks! They really are a joy to play on. I'm told that customization will be available down the road after initial launch demands have been fulfilled.
Thanks for watching! 😃
Looks cool. Full size boards are pretty inconvenient to carry around. I do have a couple of travel sets but they are definitely not this high quality.
Hey Jim! I’m at a coffee shop right now using it, haha. They’re definitely convenient. Thanks for stopping by! 😀
@@blunderblots the coffee shop games are fun! 🎉
@@ericpetersen8155 Hey Eric! Yes they are! We could easily spend a whole day in one when backgammon is involved, haha. Thanks for stopping by! 😁
Ohhh man!!! You got hooked exactly like I did!!! Hahaha. Crisloid sets are awesome
They sure are!! What one(s) do you have? 😀
howdy?- Wow- awesome -😉
Hello! Thanks for stopping and cheers! 😀
Haha there's no way I let my 2yo anywhere near my board 😂
The magnetic CL looks so awesome and would be ideal to take on vacation... but for me it's to expensive for what you are getting.
Nevertheless great video and Crisloid rocks, keep up the great work.
Hah! He watches me play and he says “shake roll” when he wants to play. We have a cheap board we play on with him mostly, but we occasionally let him on these under extra close supervision.
How’s your board been holding up?
Thanks for stopping by!
do the leather cups come with all the travel sets by that company?
They come with the magnetic sets, but I believe they are a separate purchase with their other travel sets. $20 per cup I think. Definitely great cups though. My wife prefers them over their full sized cups because of how light they are.
Ah, I just saw that on the site after I wrote you. I love the blue/white Road Trip set. Saving up now! @@blunderblots
@@samfraulino It's a great set! We use ours for that exact reason. Road trips. It's always in the car and ready for a game. If you have any questions about it, just let me know and I'll do my best to answer! Cheers! 😀
"What ta think aboat it." So you're Canadian, I gather. Most likely from a rural area somewhere in the east? lol
Wisconsin actually! 😂 The “about” always has people guessing Canada or northern Midwest. We use less “eh” and more “ope” and “er no”. 😂 Cheers!
Of the two boards, which is your favorite?
Definitely the green with the red and yellow! It’s our go to board for coffee shops! 😃
Thanks, that is what I was leaning toward. This cinches it.
@@roadrunner5475 It's a beautiful board. Enjoy! 😁
Those boards look awesome. Don't think 400 is a good price for it. You can get a mini FM Gammon board for 200 right now. You don't get the magnetic properties with the FM board but I can live without it for 200 bucks.
Hey jim! I get where you're coming from; everyone has their own preferences and budget. We've personally found a lot of value in the magnets for our hectic lifestyle with a young child that sometimes forces us to frequently start and stop games. Being able to put the board away and get it back out later is a huge win for us. More finished games for the win! And since my wife won last night, more bragging rights for her, haha!
Thanks for stopping by jim! Cheers! 😁
