Why can't the algorithm show me this cool shit goddamn
Appreciate you stopping by and taking a look 🖖
Very impressive! Your devices have been featured on TrekCulture! Uploaded four days ago.
You should be very proud!
This is the perfect confluence of fan passion and modern technology. Excited to see the steady improvement! Love the show-accurate subheadings for each operating mode, and the MSD is indeed a nice touch.
I love your stuff and I've noticed your deep love for Trek in your vids, so from one die-hard to another that really means a lot. Thanks very much!

I just stumbled back across this and it is sooo cool, my inner child wants one of these so bad
Completely unobtainable goal... but it would be amazing to integrate a radicode 102/103. The radicode is an actual geiger counter and gamma spectrometer (about the size of a fat highlighter) and with the companion app, it can approximate what the radioactive element is.
_"It's not amazing..."_ (9:38)
uhh .. sorry .. but I have to disagree!!
Fascinating. Live long and prosper 🖖
awesome work, keep it up!
TR-108 is still my inspiration! Keep up the fantastic work and would love to see one in the wild someday! :D
FEAKING A COOL Dude! 🤩
This looks amazing! I'm wondering how easy is it to assemble the circuit outside the enclosure just enough to test the software?
Would be interesting to do a performance analysis of the code and see how to improve the processing time.
Great work!
Sounds good. Now get to work on the LCARS. ;-D
Beautiful ❤️
This is great work!! I love the updated animations on the screen!
I've been working on a couple of Tricorder-like devices, one using an ESP32 that is ultra slim but the UI is pretty much just text.. the other is using the new RT-Thread HMI-Board for a much prettier experience but the thing is chunky as!
I've tried to steer away from the LCARS styling but I am really liking what you have done with the UI!
What size is the screen? I saw that you are using the ST7735 LCD - I have found them to be somewhat lacking when in sunlight, so I went for the SSD1327 1.5" OLED for the ESP32 version.
Will you be making more of these and perhaps selling them on Etsy?? :O
woow great work!
Is it technically possible for the Raspberry Pi Zero to run this with sub-0.1-second lag? It runs PiOS, after all. Would an app for PiOS run faster?
Great work, I hope I can make one someday.
Moving to a compiled code base would definitely improve performance, one day I would like to rewrite the whole program to make that happen but I've devoted so much time to this version it's hard to justify switching now.
I haven't gotten to some of the power related things. No battery, no buttons. The last thing I tried to tackle was audio but I couldn't get it working. I have the stemma and I think it's all wired up right but nada
You have to make some changes to the pis audio output setup. I don't remember offhand how to do it but I'll try to add that to the wiki at some point.
