- Bossy little mongoose and sheep have a perfect friendship! Rescued banded mongoose named 'Strepies' lives in a Namibian animal orphanage. The feisty little carnivore is in need of company but with no other mongooses around, she’s teamed up with two rescued sheep - Bokkie and Jellybean. Every day, the odd little ‘flock’ heads out on foraging missions together.

It's a Ricky Ticky Tavie! The greatest snake killers! Steppies a sweet heart to her family as pet mongoose are very loyal. They're not a common pet in India, but in rural areas, they are kept to kill cobras.

The Internet and these videos have given us an opportunity to study and observe inter-species relationships like never before. I believe that science should take a close look at these interactions and study inter-species, relationships, and communication.
Other animals, apart from humans, show all the natural ability to get with each other, across species. If they are safe and if they are not short of food, they behave so much better than we do.

Interspecies relationships, particularly animals that differ at the level of family or above, absolutely fascinate me.
For example, mongoose and sheep are from completely different orders. Their commonality stops at both being mammals. That's a huge divergence! The mongoose and meerkat are much more closely related - hailing from the same family, at least.

Yeah, they were released there, and on some Caribbean islands as well, to control insects on farms… stupid people didn’t think about the fact that mongooses eat whatever they want, not just insects! That includes native bird and reptile species, and their eggs and hatchlings! I love mongooses but…stupid people, bad ideas.
