Been in Fractal-land for a few years, kind of nerve-racking not having a backup if and when something happens to my "all-in-one" unit! But now, here it is! Is it for you? Come check it out!

#strymon #pedalboard #guitar - Hudba
Cool vid! That strymon iridium actually does sound really good
I
Sounds great dude. Tasteful playing as always.
Thanks! :)
Great video.....I basically have a a very similar board except I am still running the Collider before the Iridium. I set the Iridium very clean on the Fender setting and find my hi-gain pedals don't give any issues with the reverbs. I have been running this as my main rig for the past two years with zero issues or regrets. I used to run a Kemper until a dodgy power situation at a theatre out in Idaho took it out. Thankfully, I had a back up mini board and there was an old back-line deluxe that saved the day. But I decided to simplify my life from that point and went back to a traditional pedal-board with the Iridium. Nice and simple, and sounds great. No regrets...
Woah thats quite a scenario! How did the power fry a Kemper but not an amp and pedalboard?
@@ElliottKleinguitar It didn't fry the Kemper but things went nuts on it....tuner wouldn't work, presets were fizzy and seemed to dip in power, etc. Weird stuff. The back-up mini pedal board (powered by Ojai Strymon power) seemed to eat it up. Also, I think the Fender Deluxe amps were designed for an era when power was dodgy, so it that backline amp worked just fine. I will say the one good thing about the Kemper was there was not a lot of stuff for TSA to get excited about. Invariably, we will get to a venue and open my roadcase and find several zip ties (I don't use Velcro) have been cut and shit unplugged, and/or plugged back in incorrectly. At least they always leave me a livingly written notification saying they were there!! Needless to say, that back-up board goes everywhere I go...LOL...
How does it run out of the delay after the iridium. DI BOX?
You would ideally use a DI box yes, but here I was just going into my interface
So do you not use DI box? Or from the collider straight to FOH?
Good question! From now on I would definitely use a DI box. I didnât use one once and it wasnât a great experience.
@@ElliottKleinguitar that would be wise. If i put iridium last sometimes i can get away with it but DI box still trumps in most situations. But good stuff mate
I tried it last initially but I strongly preferred the sound of the delay/reverb after the iridium
so the iridium would sound good into a headrush frfr speaker?
For live stuff you'll definitely need a DI for the Iridium. It should sound good although the Headrush (I used one for some years) is super bass heavy so you may want to EQ for that. I may suggest a QSC CP 8 or 12 for that reason, as those have a way to cut the bass.
So, why not just use your Fender Deluxe if you like the way it sounds so much? Too loud to practice with at home? Too heavy?
For home use it can be too loud, especially where I film. Getting a good recording of a guitar would also be nearly impossible in this room. For gigs it's definitely on the heavier side and more importantly the higher maintenance side.
"I haven't been a huge fan of Plexi amps in real life." Wow, that's not one I hear often. And I know you really like a Dirty Shirley, what don't you like about them?
Tbf JTM45s are nice, but for whatever reason I enjoyed the Dirty Shirley more. Generally my experience with Plexis is the EQing is a nightmare. Also maybe just the ones I played through seemed SUPER bright. Iâd love to try a Dirty Shirley in real life and see if I like it as much as I do in the fractal
I too initially felt the same way about the Plexi. The punch model is tricky. For me itâs all about finding the right IR and scooping the mids a bit. In the software, the IRâs in the Ownhammer collection are much better than the stock Strymon ones. I hear York Audio is amazing too.
No modulation section? Cries in flanger.
Lol the opportunity just doesnât present itself
@@ElliottKleinguitar One of the best features of the nemesis delay is that you can turn the time knob to 0 and essentially use it as a form of modulation. I dont know if the Collider is as flexible but there may be fun to be had. Source Audio is great!
7 of the settings have a modulation option :)
I wonder if some modulation presets would pass your ear test, I had fun using the Nemesis for modulation but I also dont have your taste level!
I am also crying in flanger
Alcohol=evil
lol for sure, people have to put their drinks further away from pedalboards!
