I live in Pitt County of NC.
I've been a fan of Roy Underhill my entire life (now 45). Meeting him has been a life long dream of mine, sadly I don't see that ever happening; due to situations out of my control.
I would love to just have lunch with him and his family. I don't think he realizes just how much joy he and his Woodwright Shop show brought to my low income family.

We have all been richly rewarded by Mr. Roy & his eclectic sense of humor & woodworking knowledge , for decades now , & like E.J. Tangerman , he is a fountain that so many of us sprang from !!! God bless & keep him well , for the gift that he is being !!!

Thank you for capturing and sharing this moment! It was wonderful to see Roy Underhill in person, and to have this video to as another way to remember and to share with friends who were unable to attend Handworks.
I wonder how many tools Roy actually owns...he really knew his craft. I was a kid that was addicted to his show... whenever each episode came to the end, I would be sad because I wanted it to go on forever.
He’s a great teacher also. I took one of classes and he is just as genuine and personable in that setting as he appears here.
Sadly, he recently closed the school and the tool shop. He said he’s working on a book and may eventually (hopefully) teach again in the future.

I may have watched the right episodes, but I don't remember him being so funny on his show. It was so much fun being there today!

I had the pleasure of taking a class at his school last summer. I am so glad that I did! For a guy in his 70s, he is strong and fit. Split a walnut log for us to make bench hooks. At the time he had a pony tail and looked quite different from his TV persona.
