    New people to Amazon Flex if you’re gonna get a 4 1/2 hour or even a five hour block please do not pull up with a small car these small cars owners are something else. You don’t know how many packages you are going to get. It’s like rolling dice 🎲 🎲

    Amazon Flex driver here. They suck and are terrible. The worst decision i ever made was putting too much time and stock into this. Even Door dash isnt as bad because its not a commitment, you dont have to drive too far or anything if you dont want.
    Flex hires so many drivers that shifts become hard to get, the miles are extreme, surge pay diminishes to nothing. Sorry "new" people but its partially because of you. There are too many drivers now. It is Amazons fault though. They hurt your standings over returns and things you cant control. Even a flat tire. It is impossible to talk to the right person for certain issues. They do not care about flex drivers at all. Horrible gig now

    The amount of packages and stops had no bearing on your finish time. I just did a 43 package 42 stop 3 hour route tonight that I was done in 2.5 hrs. Then I’ve had 10 stops with 10 packages take 4. I don’t think you really have a great grasp on how this works.

    • @chiefbd
      @chiefbd Před 2 měsíci +2

      Yep, because they can give you 15 packages that takes 130 miles to complete. Much better to have a dense route with stops less than a minute apart then stops that are 15 minute plus drives from each other

    • @xcalibertrekker6693
      @xcalibertrekker6693 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@chiefbd I had that today but 150 miles the most I have done in so long. If not for the higher rate I would have turned it down. They sent me out 70 miles yesterday for 1 tiny envelope, at least it was a higher rate to make up for the next day. Seems they have gotten much worse in the last few months, drivers are pissed, crazy times at the warehouses around here so much product loss for some reason.

    This is why I stopped taking any blocks over 3 hours. Every time I did it sent me out to the boondocks!! Sure, only 25 packages but drove 165 miles! Yesterday did 3 hours, 48 packages, all in town and with 5 minutes of the warehouse. Drove 20 miles including returning 1 package to the warehouse!

    Spark Driver Package Deliveries are anywhere from just under $1/mile to just over $1/mile and they no longer raise it past $1.10/mile. They just keep cycling it through till someone takes it. I do them if there's too many drivers, not enough orders per day, or I just expect a slow day and need to raise my bottom line. But it's 2-3 hours for approximately $15/hr.

    Just did my first flex shift in 2 years. Going to be my last. maybe ill try again in 2 more years. I wanted to see if things improved. Accepted a 4 hour job today for $27/hr. Seemed decent up front. I should have just unassigned this when i got to the warehouse and saw the itinerary. Maybe lost cost fallacy, id already driven 30 mins to the warehouse. It was an hour drive out to the route, 44 miles to my first drop. 28 drops total. I ended the shift 30 mins early at 3.5 hours, but was over an hour away from the warehouse and 1:20 from my usual gig work zone. Grand total for 156 miles and ended up taking a total of 5 hours from start to finish. How far are these damn zones for flex. Never again.

    What i don't like, is you don't know where you're going till you get your packages, i would always get the ones where you get 10-12 packages going in rural areas, taking my car down dirt roads for the whole route.. No thanks, they should give you more info before you take the block...i don't do it anymore lol..

  • @xcalibertrekker6693

    Costs have gone up but amazon has not raised it's base rates in years. They make it almost impossible to make any money and not want to throw away all the packages and forget them. The amount of loss they incur during shipping is incredibly high I have no doubt.

    I’ve noticed with the shopping apps that problems with the app itself can cause an enormous sense of frustration and end up costing you money. I lost 15 dollars after I drove out to a CVS from the middle of nowhere. Took it just to get out of there. The store was almost closing . Should have been a quick in and out sure enough the app glitches out and won’t let me cash out if the store and pissed if all the store employees too cuz u was 👋 ding them up from closing . So after another 25 minutes of wasted time waiting for them to cancel it. Oh yeah they paid me 3 bucks for 15 miles and hour of wasted time.

    biggest mistake is def not marking the packages with a marker and not putting 1-10 on front seat, 11-20 on back seat and 21-35 etc in the trunk... if u dont mark them u will have to look for each one and that takes 2 min x 30 packages = 1 hour wasted and late and u get flagged O.O
