- This singing style is based on traditional hazzanut - embellished freestyle cantorial recitative performed in unmetered rhythm, which is often referred to as “Shirat Ha-Regesh” or “emotional singing”. Composed by Israel Alter (1901-1979), this piece was recorded in Berlin and is included in the album 'Heritage - Treasures of Jewish-German Composers'. I especially love Cantor Alter's interpretation of the words 've-ta’her libenu le-ovd'kha be-emet' (purify our hearts to serve You truly). I hope it helps set your hearts up for Shabbat and the upcoming holiday of Shavuot.

Dear Cantor: There is nothing more profound to say to you about what you do with the Gift that God gave to you. Just listening changes my life every time, every time, EVERY TIME I hear you.

Ist das eine katholische Kirche? Oder messianische Gemeinde?

Why is "Jesus on the cross" on the wall in the background? Very disconcerting considering what is being sung. And whoever was behind the camera focused on it a few times. Very inappropriate!
Hey, Jesus is your Savior. Is your Messiah. You as a Jew, should understand about that. Jesus is Jew, He is also a Rabbi.
@@StCallixtusAdviser12 So smug. Shameful. You are following another Christ, repent! The cross, yes is on the altar because this was recorded in a church with awesome acoustics. The Choir did not face the cross, but from that viewpoint, this represents the true essence of Judaism, shalom peace, and the triumph of the Chosen over their enemies, recording in Berlin. Thank you for sharing this outstanding performance and prayer.
@@dawnchattin5935 all the Christian when they are praying, they don't always face to cross. You're understand.... you're following another Christ because reject the truth if Christ is a Jew.
Do you know if every cross has nameboard with INRI = Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum. Jesus of Nazareth, The King of Jews.
I think its wonderful that a Cantor and Jewish choir is singing in a church. What can be read into this apart from good things? (rhetorical; no retort required).
@@StCallixtusAdviser12 czcams.com/video/BsfvmbG_9xs/video.html that idol was sacrificed because it's an idol like the passover lamb was sacrificed because it was an Egyptian idol among all the other plagues against all the other Egyptian idols.
