My favorite comfort movie wasn’t a movie, it was your show Joe. Thank you for this.
Same here. I miss his show!
I still can’t believe AS canceled it. Meanwhile Real Housewives flourishes..
@@myles_bennett77 AS is keeping Rick and Morty without Justin Roiland, but we don't get to see Sarah's cabin
Fact
They canceled you but they still got Dora the explorer as a grownup and kids gonna see it and think that it's Dora the explorer and watch her steal whine and say where my mother(bleep)en map at gonna repeat it and then get drunk and fall of the roof
this is almost as comforting as The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey
(2012, 169 mins)
I dunno it’s no jack reacher
@@barrybenson4158 I give that film five bags of popcorn and a little ring of power
One of my favorite comfort movies, incidentally.
It is an incredibly comforting film. If I were to try to apply Joe's own expert rating system in order to more eruditely express my feelings about it in a concise and simple way, I suppose I would have to give it
Ok. Ok. Ok. Ok. Ok.
"So they cuffed me, and gave me the right medicine."🤣🤣🤣
Joe Pera warms my heart and soul like a warm bowl of soup.
Like a hot mug of coco on a snow storm
Soup with crackers in it
Joe Pera is the antidote to TikTok
@@fredericbaue
So true
With Tylenol PM
Just as the world feels as if everything is going to shit, my world at least , Joe Pera appears on the horizon and tells me a story about soup, what a guy.
I'd say "Pera For President," by why ruin a good thing, huh? I'm speaking of Joe being the 'good thing,' btw; the office of the president? Not so much...
I've never vibed with a comment more iml
I like to imagine Joe is recording this episode in the cabin he built at the end of season 3 :)
Digging a basement would’ve been impressive
Where are the other seasons
Where can i find the rest
@@fijiwater7662They’re talking about’Joe Pera Talks With You.’ There were three seasons on Adult Swim.
@@90evilideas Sarah wouldn't have it any other way.
this is a podcast for real hobbitheads who appreciate great films like the hobbit: an unexpected journey (2012, 169 mins), and even participate in write-in campaigns for films as great as this. so glad there is now a podcast for film buffs like us
Joe Pera, seriously, thank you for this. These episodes are going to make the end of each week so much more happy for me.
Umm … each month 😢
@@myarea51 You're right, I misheard it... We must stay patient! 🫡
Joe Pera to the rescue. Joe Pera has come into my life again at a time of great sadness. Now and before on Adult Swim. It's as if he was sent to sooth our souls. Thanks Joe.
I am so thrilled to hear Joe's voice once again as it's been too long since the sad abrupt ending of his show.
I made lentil soup tonight for dinner and now I am laying under warm blankets listening to Joe :)
@@matthewnienkirchen8083 good idea :)
By sheer coincidence (???) this video appeared just as I was sitting down to eat the soup I'd just made! It's a Thai tom kha, so perhaps too spicy and exotic to accompany a Joe Pera podcast; I think a cream of potato and cauliflower with lots of melted cheddar would have been more appropriate. Joe Pera is like a warm bowl of soup in human form. Jo could be the little packet of oyster crackers that comes on the side. 🥣❤
Jo shouldn't feel too bad: I once gave myself food poisoning with a miso soup I made. It was the fresh shiitakes (very aptly named. Haha.)
Lol! I've soup on the stove, too! Sat down and behold, Joe Pera talking soup.
did you also have The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey playing in the background?
Ur great
@@coolmusicforcoolpeople No, but I did have Joe Pera talking about soup in the background, so that was pretty sweet!
@@matthewnienkirchen8083 I did actually toss some crushed peanuts into it!
Hearing Joe and Jo together made me smile so wide my face hurt.
Me too! My cheeks will hurt from smiling.
Thank you for finding new ways to continue making content in this form. I love it.
I played this when I went to bed, and I literally fell asleep within the first four minutes. Not only that, it put me to sleep so hard, that I woke up with a 5.5 hour history podcast episode about Vikings that had autoplayed and finished as soon as I woke up.
I can personally attest to the power of this podcast. Joe, you’ve made magic. I can’t wait to hear you next first Sunday of the month, and I’ll be sure to give this a proper listen on my way to work today.
I’ve been in bed sick with food poisoning all day. This is making me feel better thank u so much
Instead of regular egg noodles, I tried some rice vermicelli that came from the food bank. I mixed it with some left over chicken and broth, fresh sliced zucchini, summer squash, chopped onion and bell pepper that I had let cook until transparent, then added the vermicelli. What a treat. Stay warm. Thanks Joe and Jo.
Rice+soup is always tasty
i can feel my whole body begin to relax as i listen to this. thank you, joe pera.
I'm really happy that this exists
I swear that phone call is one of the only times I've ever heard Joe break character, he was cracking up xD
Lmao one of my favorite parts
Jo Firestone talking about Moonstruck is what America needs
Against all reason, the corpsing at 6:17 and 6:54 makes this EVEN better
Just finished. I don't mind calling myself a true Joe Pera content junkie. And I feel like that was my first fix in a lonnnng time. Superb. Now is it too much to ask for hourly installments with daily compilations... looped for 8 hours with no ads for a good night's sleep??
Ok sorry I love you
I am so glad Joe uploaded this. "Joe Pera talks you to sleep" has always been my comfort video.
Man, I'm really hoping Conner will make it in an episode. You guys are perfect foils to each other stylistically. Love the sleep-cast, and Jo's appearance was great!
Conner can't do easy listening autistic shit like this. He's too much of a scoffer
This was incredible, the part with people naming off their comfort films made me start laughing like a lunatic
Thank you and everyone for creating a really wonderful show!
Laughing like a crazy person to a monologue about soup while simultaneously in complete zen. No one else can do this to me except Joe Pera
Thank you for continuing the style of Joe Pera Talks With You! Your style of comedy has a magical and unique charm.
Not only did this come at a perfect time for an afternoon Sunday nap. But now I want to make a Sunday soup for dinner afterwards! Thanks Joe! Yer the best!
It is so relaxing hearing Joe's voice again. My favorite soup is slow cooked beef barley or a nice spicy slow cooked chili. :) Thank you Joe.😊
Right on time, Thanks Joe. I'll be listening to this tonight as well. Soup and hot cocoa sounds nice right about now. Enjoy your evening 🍲☕
Thank you for doing this I was pretty sad to see the show wouldn’t continue.
where’d you read this?
@@gundam5271 it was cancelled a lil while ago :(
@@judemcdermott ah shoot, i was looking forward to a fourth season
You even got jo Firestone? Great!
Joe, you have no idea how much the fact that this is episode 1 means to me
tomato soup is the best because of its compatibility. You can have it with a Grilled Cheese, a Grilled Cheese and Avocado Sandwich, a Grilled Cheese with Bacon, a Grilled Cheese with Pesto, Hawaiian Grilled Cheese, Mozzarella Sticks, a BLT, Salad and Corn, Sausage, Shrimp Ceviche, or, a Baked Potato. How wonder-full!
One of the most soothing voices I've ever heard. It's like his voice is hugging you and feeding you clam chowder by the fire. Keep talking Joe Pera. The world needs you❤
Oh my lord Joe, I was WHEEZING when you mentioned the battle that soup ended. That “running your opponent through with a halberd” line floored me. I needed that laugh so bad. Thank you for making my day better.
i like soup, yeah
Soup can stop and war and a video about soup can save lives. Well done!
I was so looking forward to this since the announcemen. And it's exactly what I hoped it would be. Well done Joe,. Well done all of you !
Thank you, Joe Pera, for everything you do, and the soup.
Hey Joe. Im very happy to hear that you're still doing your thing. I love your perspectives on life and the world around us. I look forward to every single one of these. You're the best.
Love your face, love your show :')
As soon as it stared I just subconsciously closed my eyes and smiled
Joe Pera's voice is as soothing as the smell of pureed roasted tomatoes stewing on the stovetop
Although I thoroughly enjoyed this, I could not sleep a wink. I just love these guys too much. Joe makes the world so interesting
This was warm and comforting. Thank you.
I have restarted this video 3 times. Always asleep by the end. Thanks Mr. Pera and Mr. Dann.
I could spend a lifetime listening to Joe Pera.
I can't wait to use this for it's intended purpose! P. S. Isle Royale Lake Superior has some great soup recipes from the old Norwegian commercial fishing families that you would probably enjoy. 🔺
listened to this while enjoying a bowl of tomato basil soup from the grocery store. thanks joe
Thanks
This is some tasty comforting liquid for my ears and soul. Thanks so much, Joe!
Great episode! The music is spot on. I could of listened to the music and the soup simmer for a hour.
Today I boxed and had an intense workout. This was great for a nap. Thanks Joe
Thabk u 4 watched
This is just what I needed on a stressful Sunday. Thank you, Joe
I've been craving new Joe Pera content and I have to say that this really hit the spot. I'm excited for upcoming podcast releases.
You can upload a "video" of you reading a phone-book my man. It will be informative, insightful, relaxing and charming - I have no doubt.
Oo, if he reads an encyclopedia that would be great too!
So happy to hear more of Joe Pera's voice.
thank you joe pera, i never met either of my grandfathers but you seem like someone they could sit down and have a ghost beer with.
watching these episodes feels like the only real thing in my life anymore
I clicked the like-button as the episode started. Then i kept reaching for the like-button again and again throughout the episode, forgetting I had already clicked on it. This show deserves a like-button for multiple clicking,
Thank You Joe! You always warm my heart
Joe being a fan of American Movie is so on brand. "That's what happens, man."
can't wait to make a playlist of these and sleep to it every night
My favorite soup is Gumbo, though it's more of a stew. My comfort content is Joe Pera talking about things.
I thought we’d get a new one every Friday?! Joe! We NEED you, man. Please don’t leave us without your company!
I was very pleased at the mention of Moonstruck and American Movie, two of my absolute favorite comfort movies. Love ya, Joe.
This is liquid gold
I saw Joe Pera in Providence 2 weeks ago. His closing bit put me in such a hypnotic trance, that I still can’t remember driving home that night.
Favorite soup is chicken and gnocchi and my favorite comfort movie is Princess Bride.
Didn't sleep great last night so I decided to nap but couldn't fall asleep because I gave myself mild food poisoning with my breakfast. It's a small world. My stomach is feeling better, I'm comforted by the reminder that food poisoning happens, and I'm grateful you're making stuff to help us sleep. Thanks, Joe.
The fact that the title has "Episode 1" included warms my heart like soup...
...accompanied by a comfort viewing of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
I started listening to this after 10pm and it made me go into the kitchen and heat up some chicken noodle soup. I tried to convince myself I wasn’t very hungry earlier. Joe convinced me otherwise. ❤
5:17 Thank you for sharing this with us, Joe and Jo!
adult swim were fouls for canceling your show Joe. I'm here for this podcast!
Oh my God, Joe?!?! I just finished your show a couple weeks ago. I had no idea you had a podcast!
I want you to know that your beautiful show made me cry so many times. And honestly, I'm really not even sure why. Something about your almost normal philosophical thoughts. They just like...they really get me.
I'm glad I found you! I'm glad I found this.
It would be too simplistic to call this man a national treasure. He's the eighth wonder of the world.
If we ever made alien contact, this is the person that needs to represent us.
thanks for everything joe ❤
Very good
American Movie is such a random choice for a favourite comfort movie, but I love that movie as well.
My favourite soup: Creamy turkey soup with dumplings.
My favourite comfort movie: The Thing (1982)
I love Joe and Jo, and I love Moonstruck. And also soup. Uumpah!
Jo en Joe are life. Greetings from The Netherlands.
There is something absolutely unique about this versus other types of sleep aid videos. I don’t want to be TOLD how to feel, thoughts of affirmations, it just makes me feel phony. “I am at peace” blah blah blah sure obviously I’m a wreck but let’s give it a shot.
Joe Pera doesn’t tell you what you should think, he offers what he thinks and it’s so real and wholesome and grounded in reality that it becomes exciting to honestly try-on his perspective for ourselves.
Another thing it does is it doesn’t tell me how to feel, it actually makes me feel it. The peace.
Idk if any of this makes sense but god bless Joe pera
I love this. Thank you Joe, this comes at a difficult time and is incredibly comforting.
I feel bad for admitting that the only thing from preventing me from contributing to the patreon was not knowing when the first episode will air. Signed up for a modest $5 a month because this is priceless.
Good job but you just set a price on it of $5
I genuinely fall asleep listening to you. It’s amazing how soothing listening to this is
I'm so excited for this. You're the best Joe!
Loved it - wish this was daily
I love Joe Pera, his stories help relieve my constant stress
Loved this so much, I cried, thankyou joe.
Absolutely love Joe and everything he makes, thank you :)
Thank you so much Joe. This is an absolute treat, that fills me with a sense of warmth and joy I previously only experienced while eating my favorite soup, bean and rice soup.
waited for something new for a while now, thank you joe

It's Jo F
Oh how happy this makes me...
Hey joe pera thank you i love your work you're great
i am so excited for this podcast!
Joe, this needs to be at least 40 minutes to be able to work for someone to fall asleep to. At least for me. I would love to use this as intended
You can put it on loop :)
