It's crazy how training for the mile works. I always worked with intermediate to high mileage, but we got a new coach this year that prioritized speed over mileage, and I only ran about 10 miles a week. Crazy enough I actually improved more throughout the season than I normally do in both my mile and even my two mile.
Nick, seems like a great plan. While I could do this for a month, I would rather stretch this out to three months or more. That seems like a more realistic time frame to look at if you really want to do this right. Could you help us adapt this to a longer schedule that is more realistic and less prone to injury for older runners? I ran the mile in high school and LOVED IT but I am now in my 50's and want to see what I can do and do not want to get hurt.
I'm currently a sophomore in high school and my first ever long distance track season just ended. My 1600m PR was 5:15, and I dont want to brag but I have a very strong work ethic as I ran throughout the entire winter after my first cross country seasons when most of my teammates did not. (I live in Wisconsin so it's super cold) Do you realistically see me breaking 5:00 on the mile and is this a good idea for summer XC training?
@@why8308 thanks! I if I can get sub 5 anytime soon that would be insane because my mile time a year ago was around 9 minutes. It's crazy to think how far I've come
I’m actually so upset about this I’m a highschool student rn and I’d love to sign up for it but I don’t have my own credit/debit card and my mom won’t pay for it I lowkey would’ve loved to participate in this too especially considering that my whole goal over the summer is to improve my mike time as much as possible by the next time I run it which would be in winter season I’m trying to get down around 5 minutes and I’m currently at 6:03 but also I ran a 1500 about a week ago and ran 5:23 which is right around 5:45 for the mile
Hi Nick, Is this program for someone like me? I am a 45 year old, out of shape Dad, who can barely jog 1/4 to 1/2 mile before having to walk and would be lucky to finish the mile in 12 minutes. The longest I have ever run was 4 miles and I could barely walk for a week after as my hips were in so much pain. This definitely seems like a program for runners, which I am not. I will be lucky to run 2-3 miles in a month lol. Do you have a program to help someone like me? For reference my personal bests in the last year are 100M - 18.5 seconds 200M 45 seconds 400M 1:50 800M - 5:30 or so 1600m - 12:00 or so (can’t finish the mile without walking)

Can’t wait to join this challenge too! So far the 2 I’ve joined Nick for have had awesome results! I’ll be an Olympic runner in no time
Dang this sounds awesome. Definitely gonna give this a shot since I’m working towards breaking an 800m PR and I’m sure this will help too!
My pr for this season was 4:42 cant wait to get even better on the offseason
Gonna do this! Starting at 5:51 done the 02/02 hope to go 5:30 💪
Sir plz make video related to lactic threshold workout for 1500m runner and provide a sample workout. Love from India 🇮🇳

Definitely. I have a 5:11 mile, and people I know that have a sub-5 ran usually ran around a 5:10-5:15 the previous year. Good luck!
I ran a 5:14 mile my sophomore year and the year after I ran 4:45, take xc seriously and your time will come
I did a 5:22 last year in middle school and this year as in high school I did a 4:43

Could you do a similar program for cross later. 30 days to a faster 5k.
Can you do this but for a 5k?
I need a larger base plus I’m in track szn rn
So I tried to sign off but it didn’t work but can I still please like do it
I just started jogging is a 2 mile jog in 21 minutes decent? Update Just ran 2.17 miles first mile was 8 minutes 45 secs
What's your mile time?
Its alright but even for a beginner it's not the best, but it's *fairly* decent
@@MintzRBLX I'm also 230
That’s around where I was before I started track, and a year later I have a 5:11 1600m, so I’d say that’s pretty good.
30 days to a faster 800?
PLease south Philly or south Jersey meet!!!
I am speed in 30 days
I can find the app

i think 4:05 fastest. Most people that are crazy fast already got a training thing on their own
