Northern New England: snow is the norm. They throw the chains on the busses and off they roll. Virginia: snow is a freak show. There's an inch of white stuff, everyone stays home until it's gone. Connecticut: Winter is Laywer Season. They cancel school or go remote to avoid liability issues and lawsuits.
I'm not sure but I think that AFTER Christmas, trash picking might bring lots of old products on the curb for the new ones that the people got as presents?
I've seen a couple of other comments like yours. I'd think Virginia would be used to lots of snow, being a state much further north than where I am. I live in South Texas, and here we do panic when we get snow or even ice on the roads. My whole city shuts down. Valentine weekend of 2021 was a winter wonderland here.
Hey Taco, please be very careful with the candles for you and salsa too. The scent and also the burning wax can hurt your lungs. Might be why you find it hard to breathe sometimes and have headaches. You will probably start to notice up in the corners of your ceiling black soot. That is not good and you are breathing it.
The best part of garbage picking is that the price is right! Lol. Of course you have gas and insurance, on your transit van, plus wear and tear, but still....

Just in case you never considered it, look around for a candle warmer. They are basically just a lamp that is designed to use the heat from the bulb to melt your candle. That way you will not get soot in your house from burning candles. I have had to clear estates from houses where a lot of candles were burned and the walls are always sooty. It is a pain to clean it off the walls and ceilings. I just bought an inexpensive one online and I love using it.
Talking about your snow days made me laugh. I moved from Boston to NC for a little bit and it snowed there one day, barely covered the grass, I jumped in my car to run down to the bank and it was closed because of the snow! I was like are you people serious right now? Hahaha.

In South Carolina, everything shuts down when we have snow because we're not used to it. No snow plows or salt machines. Most of what we get is sleet and ice that refreshes overnight. So we have black ice which you can't see and it's extremely dangerous. No one knows how to drive in bad weather. It's not that we're afraid of the cold and a little bad weather like everyone thinks.
South Carolina is a little far south so I understand, but I see this happen in NC and Virginia pretty much every year and at this point some of those tax dollars gotta be put back into the road department lol
Sometimes life is frustrating. Isay life give us road bunps. They are irritating, slow you down, but, you have to get over them a keep going. It isn't always champagne and cake. You can make it. Be positive. Please take care of yourself and Salsa. ✌️✌️✌️

Taco...your New Year's Resolution for 2024 should be to go get a physical. You may have a blood pressure issue with being out of breath, headaches, fatigue etc. You are always working hard and probably not enough sleep. We worry about you, Taco. A real scrapper would have a drill with them to take the bottom of those roll around chairs. When i was scrapping on the regular I took anything that was metal or had metal attached. I used a long pole with a hook connected to it to move bags and grab stuff out of dumpsters also. It made life a little easier.
There was a winter I swear my kids were home most of it. In January they went a total of 5 days for the whole month. Now we are lucky to get a delay of school.
The more Southern states don't get enough snow to make having snow removal equipment economical, so you get snow days. I lived in North Carolina and even a couple of inches shut things down for a day.
Not even that windy here in Olympia, Washington but enough to cause a tree to fall down and the power was out for about 6 hours? Had to bring in the baby chicks, 3 days old, no mama hen to take care of them. Also, my son sells books on Amazon and he was stressing about not being able to ship out his books and dvds and cds. He does his mailing from home. So, no internet to do his business work. Have a great Christmas and next year may the trash be plentiful and valuable.
It’s crazy you can buy a locker full of items and literally do better picking trash waste etc. I know we separate the good stuff so it’s easy to grab 😅 I know it’s not great everyday but it adds up Merry Christmas take salsa for a walk and remember rehab on your endurance begins with the first hike do a great Taco paper and moose 🫎 park day with salsa in tow 😂
I love candles and you where saying you didn't know what you were going to film while trash days are going to mess things up , don't know if you have heat in your warehouse but I am sure people would love to see your inventory of your pallets buys be safe and happy holidays
If it snowed a quarter of an inch in Alabama the schools closed. Many times the county schools would close because it would get so cold the bus brake lines would freeze.

In Virginia we can have a half inch of snow fall and the whole state would be paralyzed, they have no clue on how to deal with it.
Instant panic. From East of Pittsburgh, used to snow, but still dislike it. Don't do much driving when the roads are covered.

I went to school in Eugene, Oregon and we once had around 1/8-1/4 inch of snow. It paralyzed the town and classes were cancelled!
