Basically Nyx gave Dusa a break using the wrong terms. So thoughtful.. i guess

Thinking about it, yeah, Dusa wouldn't let herself breathe for longer than a few seconds in between tasks. Hell, if anything talking with Zagreus probably 'inflamed' her desire to do her job even better than before, faster than before, working even harder than before (which may explain why she wanted Dusa to stop talking to Zagreus, not because he got in the way, but because after those talks with him she started working even harder than before). Honestly, if Nyx hadn't let her go, Dusa probably would've pushed herself to the breaking point without even realizing it. A consistent theme with Nyx appears to be that she does manipulative things for the greater good or for someone's overall wellbeing so to speak.
Really would have been better if they'd explained that

This is missing one interaction where Zagreus confessed his feelings for Dusa. I really wanted to see that again cuz it was so fucking adorable.

There’s also a quick interaction if you’re romancing Dusa and take an Aphrodite boon where she’ll remark that it’s adorable you fell in love with a gorgon head.
@@UltraWeebMaster I think my favorite exchange was a few conversations after Dusa said she couldn't be in a relationship, Zag asked if there was anyone else, and Dusa was shocked and said that Zagreus was the only one in her heart, but a relationship was never on the table for her. (For a few obvious reasons)
This comment makes Zag remember outloud that in their culture their were 7 different types of love, and Dusa remembered that as well and said to Zagreus "I love you Zagreus" and said she's wanted to say that for a very long time.
Really cute moment.

I never saw Dusa get fired, I ended up improving the lounge enough before that happened.

This plotline can still happen even if you upgrade the lounge quickly. In my playthrough I maxed out everything on Dusa before the firing plot happened, but it did still happen.

Nyx ticks me off so much during this part of the story. Why does she care what the Gods think? Doesn't she realize she's emulating their elitist behavior? You can't even challenge her on any of it without her getting all old testament on us. Like, I'm glad she comes round in the end but damn was she ever so effing stupid here.

In a way, Nyx and Hades has a similar way to get things done.

All of them think of themselves as better because they are more powerful than humans, they're immortal and have so many more responsibilities in literally running the planet.
Nyx is nice indeed but she demands respect for her role as a Goddess and Primordial being and the same of Zagreus.
Keep in mind they kinda talk down to Orpheus and Achilles too.
Yeah all this felt really OoC for her, especially the whole “I didn’t give her a warning because she didn’t need one” thing. Like what the hell, I get that maybe she’s not that used to working with former surface dwellers, but nowhere is does it seem implied she lacks that understanding, and nowhere does it seem like Dusa’s workaholic nature actually caused her results to suffer.
same I'm playing and the reason for her being fired seems weird. for working too hard? maybe if we saw moments of dusa passing out or on the job or something. but it seemes like this story arc with nyx exist to just exist.

Nyx does view her and Zagreus as above others this much is true. They are gods with loads of responsibilities especially Nyx.
But she isn't treating Zagreus and Dusa this way to be mean but because she wants them to be able to handle their responsibilities and Dusa's relationship with Zagreus was making her struggle.
I disagree. There's nothing fair about her approach to Dusa, or firing her for that matter. Dusa was efficient in her duties, and how she goes about it or feels about it is none of Nyx's business. I think she was trying to get rid of Dusa because she disapproved of her relationship with Zagreus. Hence referring to her as 'severed gorgon head' all the time.
Idk, something about Nyx feels off. Like, she's so calculating and distant that her 'fairness' doesnt come across as any kind of compassion for the people she is strict with.
@@Observer29830 Dusa got fired for over working herself and taking the responsibility of the cleanliness of the entire house onto herself. Every time she talked to Zag, she would become... well, inflamed with passion to push herself more.

She's so much calmer and doesn't freak out when Zagreus is around all the time
In her dialog it's noted throughly that she's taking her break on time now and she's actually resting because in the end Nyx was right
How Dusa was acting before was distracting her from her duties and causing her tons of unneeded stress which was corrected after she was rehired

There doesn't seem to be an interaction here where Zagreus is listening in to Nyx telling Dusa about job responsibilities. IIrc basically Nyx lists off all the many things Dusa is to clean and says paraphrased when you're done with the last item then that should be time to start on the first again - essentially Dusa should be working flat out. That sort of undermines her later "dusa was overworking" spiel Nyx said when she fired Dusa. Perhaps it was really about Dusa talking to Zag when told to leave it that pissed Nyx off the most, although it was Zag talking to Dusa at that stage into the game as he often initiated it at that point Dusa was occasionally worried about whether she should be all the time etc). The overwork thing might have been just the 'official' reason for the quick sacking as Zagreus sometimes mentioned Dusa working hard and saying she doesn't want to get burned out
I'm been unsuccessfully trying to find this interaction for a while now, I do remember it (unless i'm going mad) but maybe I'm off about what it was. I think Zagreus said "poor Dusa" once the convo was done

So not exactly like cleaning all around in a circle but that does seem to suggest Dusa work very hard, esepically because that was only part of what Nyx said and she mentioned "a second time" and "once again"
I thnnk I mentioned the following in another comments, but this sort of stuff seems a bit similar to what a small number of bad managers or higher ups sometimes do in various ways - the general things is they tell you all the important things you need to complete exactly... and then later on complain or scold you for doing them. It's bullying really.

Her voice reminds me of Cespenar from Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal. It makes me wonder a bit if the resemblance is intentional, since both characters are technically godly house servants, though the other is a male comic relief character.
Great job on this! I enjoyed watching. It's funny how many life lessons one can actually learn in Hades... Lol

I ship Sisyphus/boldy and Dusa SOOOO HARD. Not only are they perfect adorable souls but also, Muda turning people to stone, is TOOOOO perfect to not be with Boldy and Sisyphus. I hope in the sequel there is a chance to have Dusa and Boldy meet.
