The best tip I remember from my figure drawing teacher is that the pose is most dynamic at the gesture stage. As you add more construction and ground the character with detail, the pose will become more rigid as you start to consider bones and muscles. So if you want a very dynamic pose, push the gesture as far as it will go to keep that life as you flesh out the character.
Some of my favorite works are able to blend elaborate construction and detail with the dynamic, gestureal form & movement.
Hi Toniko! You are my inspiration and you taught me so much! Because of you, I am confident that I'll make it in the animation industry.
duh theres too much animator i doubt if i'll achieve anything in animation section like that
i had difficulties drawing figures with Contrapposto so this helped me understand a bit more
So much amazing stuff packed in here, love seeing the difference in the poses for the tennis player based on their internal emotions. Never would have thought of building on top of reference that way! 🙏🏻

Yeah, Angel. I too was pleasantly surprised at this lil' cameo!
What If I dont like drawing super dynamic poses? Im really happy drawing dynamic still poses, like sitting down, standing, kneeling 😅
That's awesome if that's what you want to do! And you can still use some of these tips to add more life into a less dynamic pose. And at the end of the day, if your art is for yourself, then do whatever you want with it! No one can tell you what what's right or wrong if the art is for your own expression alone 😁
@@reeddraws thats a dope response, thank you!
