After his previous life went up in flames, Joe Goldberg has fled to Europe to escape his "messy" past, adopt a new identity, and, of course, to pursue true love. But Joe soon finds himself in the strange new role of reluctant detective as he discovers he may not be the only killer in London. Now, his future depends on identifying and stopping whoever’s targeting his new friend group of uber-wealthy socialites…

i like this part about Joe being blackout drunk or falling asleep every time a crime happened. I think it might describe him having a split personality where every time "Joe" is unconscious, the other side he's trying to suppress automatically activates, aka a psychotic killer.
Idk it feels like a cheap, over done trope and sort of absolves him of any responsibility this season. Also is a terribly stigmatising representation of D.I.D. if this turns out to be the case. I pray it’s something far more interesting and not another fight club moment
This is insanely correct
I think while Rhys is a real person in the world (mayor scene and funeral scene) the Rhys we see is a figment of joes imagination. I don't see him interacting with anyone except joe. At the bar he was the only character that wasn't introduced.
Who do you think locked joe and roald up in the end then?
@@meganbao himself, we know from earlier seasons he was hallucinating visions, it's not a reach to say he hallucinated rhys, and in reality he committed all the murders, and locked himself and roald up due to his subconscious guilt of taking advantage of people
This was my theory as well. I think after Joe was rejected by Marianne and Ellie (or anyone he perceived to be perfect and innocent) for seeing him as the monster he truly is, his compulsive need to prove he's not a bad person has caused his personality to split over time.
@@jasmin4399 idk how he would text himself and even more so lock himself up and then later on after being locked up start a fire so far away from where he was locked up I don’t think it adds up
And rhys put on joes’s Black gloves
Something isnt right with this season. Not saying its a bad season so far because It was as good as always but the whole plot is basically a „redemption arc“ for Joe being the good guy being terrorized by another evile which shouldnt be. Joe doesnt deserve redemption. Hes a psychopath and thats why we love it.
Thats why I hope the big plot twist of this season is that Joe indeed killed all of them and Rhys is just his alter ego.
Rhys might be a real person but the one Rhys Joe interacts with is an imaginery alter ego he developed after reading his book and find out both have the same past of a difficult childhood and the real Thys as someone Joe admires to - Rhys, the man Joe wants to be.
Nahh thats not a redemption arc.We know that his "love" interest will discover the body count and joe will take her head. They always play the redemption card every season, but he always goes back on a killing s
i was thinking that rhys was his alter ego as well and that he hallucinated the whole thing bc the fact that the killer was rhys is really predictable. maybe joe has a disorder like schizophrenia or something and killed everyone bc deep down he really does like it? and maybe that's why rhys' views are the same as joe's bc they're literally the same people? idk
i agree! something is off with this season, it seems like it’s a redemption arc for Joe but then again i don’t think that they would just reveal Rhys to us as a killer without any deeper story. in the previous seasons they hid the plot twist very well (Love, Candance) so this is so strange to me. i believe we’re missing important details.
Lol it's also fiction, I'm down for redemption. But he should still pay
100% agree on the alter ego thing
My opinion is that Love is smarter than we all think. I don’t fully agree that Love is alive in any sort, but I do think that she put something in place while she was alive so that if she died someone would go after Joe. Remember when Joe asked her what she did with Candace’s body and she responded ‘it’s better if you don’t know’. She also placed that substance on the knife in case Joe tried to hurt her, being one step ahead of him, though ultimately, he was one step ahead of her. Since she has a history of contacting people (like the private investigator in the second season), she maybe was contacting Rhys and telling him all of Joe’s tactics, hence why he was able to find Joe and immediately know about his past, his gestures, and overall what he does. Just a thought! I’m excited for the second part.
I have a feeling that she is actually live. Why did her family’s assassin give Joe a way out by providing a new identity? The only two reasons of doing that would be either to frame Joe for his crimes. Or to secure him in a city for Love to pay him a visit. I really, really hope it’s the second option. With Love showing up, it would make shit hit the fan because you know she’ll either want to capture him or kill him outright
@@Fb-gj5rn THIS
@@Fb-gj5rn or ask to get back with him
Nah Joe's just crazy 🤣🤣🤣
It was very clearly that the ring was planted on him by the stranger than ran into him at the funeral. As Nadia said, rule #1.
Remember that Joe didn't read Nadia's letter to Malcom. It's a clear indication that she will be more important later
And she's ALWAYS present. Always inquiring and curious about a "professor" lol.
I think there's going to be some huge reveal at the end of the season. That the entire time Joe has been in a mental institution or something. That something else happened with Marianne and he has created this entire internal story as a way of coping with the fact that he killed her.
I also thought about something like this... and than he is having an illustion about Love too.
damn you're not far off actually
happy about the mention of the photographer, i guess i missed her one time-but i noticed she clearly got a picture of him at one of those parties. figured it would just be a picture that someone sees to realize hes still alive. but could be more. and no conclusion with marianne. i feel like this seasion is the end of joe, its just too much and he'll be caught or killed at some point.
it definitely is the end of joe
Pretty sure they already confirmed there will be a fifth and final season, but I could be mistaken
I thought there would be a season 5.
@@natestadler2352 yeah I just heard that so I’m wrong! Haha just something felt like this seasons was a culmination.
I think that the photographer is Love under heavy FX makeup. This way she can follow Joe in plain sight without being obvious. So many times Joe has said that "Love is too good at this" everytime she has a plan to hide a body or come up with plots to frame another. I feel Kate is Love's half sister, from her father's side. Even towards the end of last season when Dottie was trying to warn Joe about Love and said that she'd feel guilty if something happened to him and she (Dottie) didn't say anything. Dottie also mentioned that her husband was a monster but she stayed until the end. Kate mentioned to "Johnathan" that her father is a monster. However she never wants to involve her father even with cleaning up her messes. Why? Because Joe has already met Love's (and Kate's) father. Secret plot twist and the cover would be blown. We may have been following Joe this whole time but I believe we have been living out Love's fantasy. This is her turf, playing by her rules. Every one of these people are indirectly or directly connected to Joe's past. I think Rhys is Joe's half brother, from his mom. I remember Joe's stuck into his orphanage office and pulled his file as he was hoping his mother was coming back but found her with another child as if Joe didn't exist. Rhys might be his mother's redemption child, you know when some have a child and screw up? So they instead of making it right with the first child have another to right their wrongs? Joe loves books and escapes in them, then Rhys became a writer. A writer in which Joe could have become if things were different in an alternate universe. I feel like at some point Joe is going to have to face his mother one day and face his inner/outer demons. But everything is going to come full circle and the dots will be connected.
this is crazy but i like your theories. you can wrap it up in a video hahaha i bet it'll went viral lol
woah lol thats a hella of analyzing there
I’d love that, but someone already confirmed she’s really dead. 😢
I think Rhy has been working with Love if she is alive. That's how he found out all of the stuff that Joe has done & used it to black mail him!
Omg love is dead
@@justinpereira7945 no she’s not cope
@Justin Pereira there is a small suggestion that she is. We never saw any part of her body during the fire. Not even her face with the light of flames gazing across her face. love knew Joe to well to not have put an antidote to the paralytic in her body. So although Joe thinks he killed her in the fire, she most likely escaped the fire.
@@justamumsinging love can’t come back bc it be predictable what will happen
@@justinpereira7945maybe it’s loves dad, getting revenge
I still have a weird theory that Rhys is Joe's foster brother who moved to Europe, but idk if Joe would recognize him or not
DEXTER SEASON 1 VIBES IF TRUE!
Exactly what I thought, and in their first dialogue He told him "we are brothers in arms" could it be a foreshadowing?
🤯
@@davidefaranda3171 POSSIBLY!!!! LOL!
But how would his brother even know about his past? Unless the mom told him about his “brother” that she totally abandoned and raised him instead. And what exactly would he want revenge for? Being abandoned and never even getting the chance to be part of his family? Lol, the whole “Joe Goldberg” thing isn’t public knowledge, he’s not tied to anyone so it just doesn’t make much sense
Everyone in the comments “My articulate theory that is completely originally mine is that Rhys is Joe” Honestly I hope that’s not the case I like the idea of Joe going up against someone who’s more apex predator compared to him.
@ShamarKemet the theory doen’t say that Rhys doesn’t exist at all ! We’re not that stupid please 😩 of course the man is real
It’s more about Joe making Up his conversations with him and making Up the fact Rhys is even part of the group. Joe could’ve read his book and start projecting on him. There are a lot of clues actually but I’m too lazy to write a long essay since it’s already been done by other than Me 🥲 But if you look closely rhys never speaks with others, They don’t even look at him. Plus he vanishes very quickly all the Times (just rewatch his scenes you’ll see there is something odd)
I’m not saying this thoery is 100% sure. But don’t be so contemptuous about it, it’s not a stupid theory, at the contraty !
@ShamarKemet rhys can be real but also be joe's imagination. after reading his book and finding all these points in common with him and with his sick mind, he could have imagined it with interactions with him without that being the case
My theory is rhys is joes half brother that joe mentioned earlier in the show. They both grew up the same way with the same lifestyle. Which is why they relate to eachother so well. There both crazy which would make sense lol. Rhys calls joe his "brother in arms" and also says at the end of pt 1 "i had high hopes for you". We seen that rhys father is the duke n it says "we dont know who rhys biological mother is" but it says duke had an affair with a woman but wasnt aware of rhys until his teenage years which means rhys mom ran off while pregnant then came back n gave rhys to the duke. We also know joes mom had his brother from having an affair with an unknown man. Im telling you that man joes mother had a affair with was the duke n then she ran off while being pregnant without saying anything.. We know joes mother has a problem with neglecting n bad parenting which is why joe is the way he is so that's why rhys is that way.. So once she realized she couldnt use rhys or take care of him anymore she drops him at the dukes door. His mom told him about joe so once he figures out the new guy in the crew was really his half brother in season 4 he has a field day prolly thinking they will reign together forever which is why hes so disappointed when joe doesnt want to set roald up.
Guys those theories are dumb too, doesn’t it sound cool to see Joe go up against someone’s who more dangerous then him
@@user-eu5ft3dd1g I was talking about that dumb theory too, yeah that’s stupid, I wanna see Joe vs a straight up serial killer
Nadia is just the younger character of the season, like Paco and Ellie in previous seasons. Joe might end up saving her at some point and she might find out that he has been killing people. I subscribe to the theory that Rhys is just a split personality of Joe's and he is the one killing everyone. Maybe she will uncover this but be forced into silence like Ellie.
I literally said the same thing today. The student is his new younger friend that he happens to truly bond with: The new Paco/Ellie. There’s always a pattern with these satellite characters, they’re always in a fix, or unfortunate enough to need some sort of help/support and that’s where he steps in always taking on the role of protective big brother that no one asked for…
it's funny because he actually puts her in a bad spot vs taking her out of one
Loved this season more than any other. Loved the European scenery, the British actors and that Joe had to chase the murderer for once.
I agree! I think "You" is one of the rare series which gets better every season
@@irmaksaknc324 I feel yall but the mid to end of seanon 2 and the whole of season 3 was so great I just don’t know if they can top that that was peak YOU excitement for me this was also a great season tho
@@KKOOLSKOOL i agree the whole part about love being crazier than joe was mind blowing and nothing will ever surpass that in my opinion
Im clearly convinced that Rhys is Joe , changing life gave him a personnality Split , and Kate knwos it that's why she was uncomfortable when Gemma said Jonathan might be The killer , and she don't told anyone cause she hates rich too
Great theory!
Nah because everyone knows rhys and Rhys was texting joe. plus the trailer has joe hittung rhys with a door by slamming it open and i dont think their gonna fight club it
I was thinking the same thing 😮
Is there a scene where someone is having a conversation with both Rhys and Joe? Up until now I only see Joe and Rhys having dialogs scenes, not seen together in a group. Also the app they are using might be just a part of his splitting personality
@@jdx478there’s only the scene where Rhys speaks at the hotel after Simon’s death and gets up saying that he needs air. No one acknowledges him though. But that could again be Joe’s mind
Another hint for the split personality theory is the "you" logo at the end of the trailer. This time it isn't full of blood, but split into two pieces... 🥸
Nadia looks like Delilah from Season 2, I think she’s a relative of Delilah and Ellie!
No way. No way. No way.
I refuse to accept this
although what would that mean for the future...?
and I dont think shed know William either
Lol she doesn’t look that good to even be compared to delilah
I’m just bummed I figured out who the killer was way too easily….I really hoped they would write it in a way that really kept us as viewers guessing but it was just too obvious. I know I’m not the only one out there, I tried yo hold out hope during the last episode that maybe they did pull one over on us but nope. We’ll just have to see what happens in part 2 but they’ll probably tie it in that he’s his long lost brother & the motive is revenge
I feel like it still had a lot of mystery. I had a guess that it would be Rys but during the last couple episodes I kept waiting for each character to confess. I really thought it was Kate for a second there with Gemma.
I think there's more to the murders than pt 1 has given us. Either Rhys has an accomplice or as many have speculated Joe did the murders and Rhys is in his imagination
I wanna see ellie and Paco return!! I feel like Rhys will be a reflection of Joe and in a twisted way he's facing himself..doing horrible things in the name of the greater purpose
Jenna Ortega said she won’t be in this season :(
Reece 💀
@@joeymenace8555 sorry Rhys..I fixed it lol thank you
Yeah me to
I think rys is in Joes head. Why doesn’t Rys ever interact with the other people?
If Rhys is real (and not a figment of Joe's imagination as per some of the theories I've read) I really hope that Joe would connect with Rhys and have a "brother-in-arms". I was hoping him and Love would work together, but idk, Joe apparently and sadly wants to work alone. Still hoping he'll come around and have Rhys as his partner-in-crime.
Kate is definitely on to something
Good catch on the photographer, I didn’t even realise it
Can't wait for your take on this
When Roald had Joe on his knees with the gun to his head, and he said meet the "Eat the Rich" killer, I thought he was talking about all the other friends. Like they were all collectively killing together, and I kept thinking the secret Kate was hiding at the table was that they were all killers. Lmao.
Either way, what a great season. The writers never fail to amaze me with the twists they give, and Joe is as good as ever. Love this show.
Rhys is real, however Joe has no real relationship with him outside of reading his book. Joe creating a relationship with Rhys is all in his head.
Kate looks nothing like Quinn what???????
I think they are sisters istg
The actress looks a lot like her. When she smiles, she looks the same
I still think that it was the main reason of whoever did the casting of the actress!
Agreed they do not look alike lolol that was a bit of a stretch lol
Hello, you! What did you think of the new season of You?
👍if you're looking forward to seeing Love Quinn again!
Enjoyed part one and can’t wait for part two and love returning is going to be speechless
I really thought Joe was gonna get killed by the end of episode 5
Not yet!
This is not game of thrones lol. There is no ‘you’ without Joe
Amazing video 👌
Thank you!
if was an hallucination or dream she would be wearing her season 3 finale clothes since that was the last time joe saw her
I hope that Rhys is a real person that is somehow working with Love or Kate. Joe is trying to be better, trying is the key word. But in the end we all know he’ll go back to killing and fall back into the cycle, most likely he will set his eyes on Kate subconsciously.
any idea why Netflix broke the season 4 into two parts?? was it necessary to do this? why can't they just show all the episodes together as before?
I only paid for Netflix to watch YOU and now I have to pay for 2 months of Netflix subscription then cancel
@@Jman1zP4P you could have just waited lol
@Nahoma interesting
lmao if you started this show at season 4, you'd barely even know that he'd cold bloodedly murdered several of his exes or think that him killing Love was just self defense as if he didn't have his part to play
Fight club style theory that Rhys = Joe ??
i think love quinn isnt the female version of joe. She's just an obsessed girl who couldn't control her killing desire. Which i think kate suits more. She looks like she got a lot on her back. I agree that she knows where joe mind goes all the time.
My favourite channel ❤️😭
Rhys isn’t real. He’s joes darkest side.
@ShamarKemet rhys can be real but also be joe's imagination. after reading his book and finding all these points in common with him and with his sick mind, he could have imagined it with interactions with him without that being the case
@ShamarKemet he’s an author and running for mayor but not a killer
I thought maybe the student would be the killer, I didn't watch it closely enough (cleaning, cooking, washing dishes and doing laundry), basically had it playing in the background. totally missed the split!!
The older paparazzi woman that keeps watching Joe during the paparazzi events, is the clue and key to Season 4.
his mom?
Rhys has no fear of Joe
Thanks, Jan! 🔭 #FlicksAndTheCity #YouNetflix
I LOVE LOVE!!!
Guys I seriously think Joe has a split personality, first thing is he shows plenty of signs for having one. The memory loss, fear of abandonment which we saw in Season 1 I believe, paranoid thoughts, delusion, impulsive thoughts, unstable relationships, etc. Joe has had different names and has had to move out of cities. He's also had a traumatic past as a kid and Mr Mooney, and a simple google search reveals people with split personality disorders have usually suffered from some trauma
RAAAAAAAAA
I KNEW IT! RHYS ENDED UP BEING JOE'S ALTER EGO. It just made too much sense. I was rooting for Nadia to turn him in
what happened with the jar of piss from the first season and the cop that was on him and founded it?
Say what you will but Rhys stayed away from the retreat bc he had plans with Joe. He may be crazy, but at least he's not a flake 😂
Part 2 when?
Things you might have missed in s 4 that reveal the HUGEST PLOTEST TWIST PLOT HUMANLY EXISTING :the dialogues of the movie and the dungeon they showed
I think Joe is gonna get away once again because this show has had 4 seasons why would they just end it with him in prison? Either Joe gets killed or he moves on from Europe and sees his son when he’s older…
One of the few shows that gets better with every season
What if Joe does get caught, goes to jail, gets creepy with a corrections officer who falls in love with him and helps him escape 😂
Something I picked up in season 2 and saw the same basic formula play out in Part 1 of this season, there were parts in episodes where they telegraphed events that happened, like Nadia's rule about the second victim being the first suspect. In season 2, they played out the whole "you don't really belong until you see these events play out" thing, which they ended up doing.
I couldn't help but think of the 4th season of Dexter and...Huh, coincidently season 4 of Stranger Things (that's a hell of a coincidence). Since Stranger things ended it's part 1 revealing who Vecna was, and left us sit and wonder what the rest of the story was going to be, I suspected the same thing with the final episode for part 1 of You. And I was not disappointed. They did something similar with Dexter in Season 4. Half way through, they told us who the Trinity killer was, and the second half of the season was about Dexter bringing that to an end.
Also I saw similar themes with this and Dexter, besides the killing, and most likely because of the new Freelancer mode, I see similarities between Dexer, Joe, and Agent 47, in how they go about things, and such. Not doing a good job portraying people who go through trauma in a good light.
In my opinion the character of Rhys took a lot of inspiration from Brian moser from dexter season 1, in the way that he knows who joe is but joe doesn’t know who he is until half way through the season. The way in which they communicate is different though, Brian communicates with Dexter through his kills whilst Rhys communicates with Joe more openly.
@@uc54321 I can see that, using the message eraser app is a lot more direct, but still has that same air of mystery and sense of powerlessness in how both Dexter and Joe are clueless to who's contacting them. Even if they aren't scared
Just finished part 1. Serie is hard
The last show I saw Rhys in was Outlander, so I automatically felt like he was a lying killer. Lol. Still can’t tell if he’s real or not, though.
Seriously as soon as I saw him I told my husband it's gonna be him bc he always plays the bad guys lol. After what he did to Claire and Brianna I have no use for that actor 😂😂
@@mistisenn4737 I’ll never forgive him. Lol. He definitely plays the villain a little to well for my liking. The way he can go from charming to sinister is the most upsetting part! 😂
I definitely think Joe is the killer and he is disassociating
What if Love is just an illusion this season like Forty in season 3
Rhys is in Joes mind
Those london people who he’s been hanging out with they obviously gonna find out that he’s not Jonathan Moore he’s Joe Goldberg just like when loves brother forty found out talking to Dr Nicky
Reese’s Joe’s imagination
I don't think love should be brought back because she were the one who started the whole murder pack from season 2. Her angry got the best of her I also felt that she would of kill her mother as well, after that incident with her child. She influence Joe to kill even thou he wanted to stop, but since she killed Natalie his focus turned to Marianne more which he knew if love noticed he turned to Marianne she would of kill her just like she did Natalie. But I think the college student will find out more of Joe and the photographer .
Am I the only one thinking that Rhys is actually joe’s brother?? I mean it is possible though right?
Love is alive she is support rhys
I hoped it wasn't rhys since it was the most obvious. So sad
Love might not be dead
Deep down from my voice I reckon Kate is one who behind this Kate is the one who send him a message which probably let us see that rhys is the one who send but what if Kate is the mastermind of these all remember when Joe said in a text leave Kate alone and she's mine after that it replies that's the Joe I am looking for I somehow think Kate did some test like love did in season 2 little bit seem some scene in season 2 had happen here is the deal Kate is alone she killed her boyfriend malcom she killed another one just to test Joe if he is the man she is looking for remember her father is powerful person on a planet she said with her father status power she hired someone to find Joe past that's why she find all Joe's name his past well interesting to see and can't wait for part 2😍
What if Kate and Rhy are working together? I noticed Kate told Joe that they shouldn't kiss because if they do they we fall in love. Maybe that is a clue.
I thought about that maybe Beck wrote down about Joe and his stalker found that but I believe love is alive and she is pulling the strings
Please be this!
Do cloudy with achance of meatballs 2deleted scenes, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it possible that Kate is Love?
How do any of you think this season was anything short but a ridiculous 3d version of clue. That a 10 year old screenwriter conducted while out of their mind on too much chocolate milk. It was beyond ridiculous.
