The more I think about this pick, the more I realized it makes sense based on how deep the OT class is. Lets hope we can bounce back and get ourselves one!!
Another reach. 20 other players available better than Bowers. This is why the Raiders haven't won a SB or anything significant for 40 years. Every team got better in the AFC west except the raiders. Still no QB, no lock down CB, no true LB and the oline is the 29th worse in the NFL. Minshew and Aoc are average back ups. Luke Getsy is a terrible OC. AP is a cheerleader not a coach. Perfect for AOC. Quick accurate release to get the ball right where Bowers needs it. Bowers is a YAC freak watch out. Our offense is going to be dangerous if Zamir can hold up the backfield.
Look, I agree with the player, just not the pick. He is only a good pick if it fills a "need". He is a stud and by far the best TE in the draft but he didn't fill any holes. That's all I am saying.
Although technically a TE he lined up 40% of his snaps in the slot and 11% from out wide. He was also used several times quite successfully as a RB with sweeps. Dude can do it all and is dynamite in the redzone. We didn't reach and got a certified stud, every mock draft had him going in the top 10. There is definitely room to be critical considering our other needs but the Nation needs to chill out a bit
I was shocked and not too pleased. But youre right. Letting it simmer more, this is a safe pick that will forsure bring give us returns. I wanted fuaga and will compare them this year
Fuaga has short arms (33.25) and struggles to recover, and keep defenders off of him. Fuaga does have good pass protection technique but it is unclear if he best suited for guard or tackle because of physical limitations. Bowers was the highest rated TE in the PFF era. Bowers really has no glaring weakness. He can down block, line up in the slot or go outside. Bowers was the correct pick.
This right here is why I love the pick regardless of need or who was on the board we drafted an elite player in the 1st round we didn’t reach for anyone that’s a W in my book.
Don’t trip i mean haven’t we been asking for years to take the best player available. Look at our past of reaching at needs(although this year is different) I’m happy with the pick because he ain’t your regular tight end he has the true potential of being a generational TE talent
Thayer Munford is a decent RT. Keep sleeping on him. Check his PFF grades. He's decent. Bowers is one of the best TE prospects in a long time. To get him at 13, it's a steal!
Raiders got him at 13 when he was a definitely top ten pick and this was a unique draft with all the quarterbacks and receivers heavy great move by Tom drafting the best available player at that time!!! Michael Mayer is a good tight end Brock Bowers is Weapon X!!! Great pick 👏🏾
He's the consensus #7 player in the draft that fell to #12 because of the QB & WR frenzy. He was the best value on the board that is why they drafted him. With these Two TE's and their two starting WR, that formation is both a strong run and pass offensive formation that will be a miss-match nightmare. Do you keep the DBs on the field to stop the pass or keep the LBs to stop the run?
Sanjit, you are my favorite source for all things Raiders. I know you weren’t too happy with the pick. I think we’ll get our tackle and it will be an awesome draft. Keep up the good work! RNFL ‘74

Brock Bowers is an absolute beast! The draft is to add as much talent as possible he’s going to add talent to that offense! We’ll be getting a tackle and guard the next few rounds and people forget we still have free agency to plug in some positions of need.
Okay we didn't fill a need but we didn't reach give up a boatload of picks chasing waterfalls. Plus I think we will find some gems later on in later draft rounds. One thing I do love,a lot charger fans wanted Bowers😂
This kid is rated the best TE in college history. Check PFF and other sites, this kid is a can't miss best TE. He will be for the Raiders what Kelsey is for the Chiefs. This OC runs a lot of 2 TE sets. This is a deep draft and we have plenty of time to land a right tackle, corner and a RB. LOVE the pick, and the Raider war room looked happy with it also.

I also wanted to draft a T, and Fuaga specifically was high on my list, but almost every platform has Bowers as the better prospect. Aside from being a better positional fit, what do you like more about Fuaga (I realize they play diff positions so you can keep it high level)?
Exactly. I just don’t see how he won’t help our offense in the ways a good TE can. Comparing how a good OL would help our offense is counterproductive. Like you said 🗣️ Let’s go
This guy Bowers is a dual threat TE that is even used as a RB at times. 7th best overall prospect that was picked at 13 is a steal. There’s still a bunch of CBs and OLs and QBs left on the board like Jordan Travis, Michal Pratt and Spencer Rattler, let alone we still have Aiden O’Connell and Minshew who have proven they are above average QBs in their young careers.
Best offensive weapon available. At least it's not a reach at 13. He's a Raider now. I hope no one's complaining if he's producing 1st downs and touchdowns. 🤷♂️
Before the Raiders picked Bowers he was a special player-game changer-top 10 player. After the Raiders picked him now he's "the best TE in this class". Haters gonna Hate and i say F-em all. RAIDER fan till i die!
If he ends up making an immediate impact then I’m not complaining. We’ve been historically bad at 1st round picks so as long as he contributes in a big way, I’m not mad at it. Let’s see what we do in these next 6 rounds.
I totally agree with your analysis, spot on Just like to add that one aspect of Bowers that Telesco brought up is his ability as a "playmaker" is special and that every pick will not always be "need" driven Like you said, this isn't a reach, it wasn't a need per say, but depending on how the rest of the draft plays out, it was a good solid pick that will improve the offense which was certainly a weak spot so in that sense it does address a need
The Raiders got one of the best offensive players available at 13, now they need to fill Oline holes. I give the BB pick a solid B, it's not so much of a need but BB has the skills to be one of the best TE.
I know there was a perspective of “Tight Ends dont matter” but in the last SuperBowl the Niners and Chiefs had the top 2 Tight Ends in the league so maybe its more important in this era of the NFL than people realize or acknowledge.
Sanjit you were literally saying we don’t have a guy who can take a screen to the house. Well now we do. No complaints from me. Plenty of players left in this draft. The defense will be fine with AP coaching
I LOVE. THIS PICK. AS LONG AS WE DRAFT A SOLID CB IN THE SECOND. (I do think all the day 1 OT are gone unfortunately but we can hopefully develop a third or 4th round tackle)
Once all the QBs were gone, this pick made sense. McConnell/Minshew will need lots of weapons to be successful and they get a very fine skill people who will also be a good blocker to help a less than stellar o-line.
The more I think about this pick, the more I realized it makes sense based on how deep the OT class is. Lets hope we can bounce back and get ourselves one!!

Let’s see what we do in these next 6 rounds.
Yup. I agree with your angle 💯...
I totally agree with your analysis, spot on
Just like to add that one aspect of Bowers that Telesco brought up is his ability as a "playmaker" is special and that every pick will not always be "need" driven
Like you said, this isn't a reach, it wasn't a need per say, but depending on how the rest of the draft plays out, it was a good solid pick that will improve the offense which was certainly a weak spot so in that sense it does address a need
Who is upset with this pick? Most fans seem to be happy with it, as they should be. This guy is going to be good.
The Raiders got one of the best offensive players available at 13, now they need to fill Oline holes. I give the BB pick a solid B, it's not so much of a need but BB has the skills to be one of the best TE.
Disappointed at first but it was a no brainer. A unique playmaker who can best any afc west lb. That said, we need a tackle.
I know there was a perspective of “Tight Ends dont matter” but in the last SuperBowl the Niners and Chiefs had the top 2 Tight Ends in the league so maybe its more important in this era of the NFL than people realize or acknowledge.
I'm happy with the draft so far, Telesco did not trade away the Raiders future with no plan in place for when these older players start retirement.
I kinda freaked out at first but when I calmed down I realized he’s the best TE in the class and he’s from Napa Ca! Local guy!
