TR10R Johnson/Evinrude HP a great engine. I had one on my speed boat for years it was economical powerful I used it for waterski going fo long trip.. I stiil have an original parts book and workshop manual
Thanks for the video Tommy. I just purchased a 69 Princecraft GTX145 with a 69 Evinrude as well. The wiring harness is shot as the plastic coating on the wiring is just crumbling. My mechanic is working on it now. Need to replace the Motorola amplifier as well. BOAT - Break out Another Thousand. Cheers
Morning Tommy. Hope all is well. My mechanic fixed all of my wiring issues and replaced the amplifier. Boat fires up great and runs good up to about 75% throttle. If you open it wide open it goes for about 30 seconds and then starts choking and cutting out. If I pull back the throttle, it takes about 1 minute to settle down again and run smooth. I'm here in Ontario Canada, we still have ice on the lakes so it will be a couple of months before I can get her back on the lake. Any thoughts ? Fuel issue or amplifier / timing issue? As mentioned, she will run all day long about 23 mph but any more than that it is nasty!
@@jamesburns74 sorry about the late reply I don't get on here much. Man I don't know what it could be. If that mechanic messed with the timing it could be that. It could be a bad pump up bulb on your fuel line from the tank to the engine the primer bulb. I don't know it's it's hard to tell and you can only tell when you're out running it. Sometimes they'll sound perfect on water hose then you go put it in the lake and it's a dog. Spark plugs check that timing make sure the primer bulb is working right.
@@tommytaylor7523 It’s all good. Found 2 of three carbs were opening correctly and the third was not. My guy fixed that and I installed a new fuel pump for good measure. Seems to be running good now. Not a 100% but close enough for the girls I date!
Well somebody just commented I don't really know how to do all this period said you had a Evinrude on a ski boat or something. But anyway thanks for the comment. I love to hear an old outboard idling across the water
I had some but I sold them a couple of years ago. You can go on eBay and probably find one I know there's a place called old southern outboards or something like that online. But you just go online and start looking. Some people act like there gold mine and sometimes you can get a good deal on one.
I guess look at the video more closely. I do have a tail tail on it. Which you know, they don't come from the factory like that, but there is a factory pipe, one advanced pipe plug on top of the block just take that fitting out, screw a fitting, and that will accept the quarter inch tubing and just I went and drilled a hole to the bottom calling and put the. Tail tail so I can see it pumping water period but anyway. Hope this helps I can send you a picture or something if you want.
Thanks,. I haven't in an original 1969 factory Evinrude manual. I will have to look for it. You should be able to Google Google it and pull it up online
Send me your email or whatever then I'll send you a copy of that wiring diagram. but you should be able to pull it up online I have the original parts manual I would have to take a picture of it and then send it to you
