This smaller key is known as your "RACE ON" key, a secondary emergency option. Should the need arise, you can start your bike by positioning this "RACE ON" key near a designated area on the bike, effectively serving as a backup key without the intricate electronics. The correct spot to place this key is between the left fork and the plastic fairing.

Great in depth review. Side by side reviews of SAS and SAR would be great, especially the suspension differences, SAS has a manual setting for the semi active and it would be nice to get a full understanding of that

It is not very complicated. You need the tech pack to do the manual adjustments, the manual setting gets added as one of the suspension modes (so sport, offroad, etc and USER)
You set the compression and rebound damping as a single setting(hard - soft, about 7 levels), preload gets its own setting. The preload for the rear is a bit weird because you find it as 2 different functions with or wothout the tech pack:
1. As actual preload (w. Tech pack)
2. As "ride height(w. and w.o. tech pack)
Colors are even more on point than last years.

The small key is your spare key. When you loose your big fob you can use the small very close to the designated spot so you can start and ride. I have it one my 2023 SAS

Wonderful bike
It’s 1301 cc’s, not 1290. S model has electronic suspension and adaptive cruise control. R has 18/21 inch spoked wheels, S has 17/19 inch cast wheels. Just some main differences.

Really detailed review thanks. FYI, I have the 2022 model, it’s great but there are a few things, the electronic steering lock almost never works. It’s really temperamental and the KTM app isn’t great for linking to navigation. Would recommend though, it’s about 5k cheaper than the equivalent Ducati.

At least for the 23 - Quickshifter is not available without a paid software add-on iirc it was ~400$ +/- 100$ CDN
