Outside of certain drivers I think Dave is probably the single person most responsible for the popularity of drifting in Europe at the moment. And increasingly so worldwide. The man is a master of taking risks and keeping various plates spinning to make his lofty plans a reality. This fire is such an insane kick in the balls but I've no doubt him and the rest of the boys at Drift Games will be able to overcome it
First time listening to the podcast by the way - excellent hosting, not too much interjecting and asking great questions!
No one talks about Piotr wiecek. He basicaly becomes world known together with deane and they both drive in the biggest drift event in Europe which is Drift Masters. Then this guy (dave) happens to work for the series. If im not wrong the main sponsor for DM is piotrs DAD. So without that no drift masters becoming what is becoming and dave working for drift masters..and i believe piotr is involved behind the scenes because he went to visit potential tracks for DM. And only like the owner of the series would do that. So i think that person you are referring to is piotr..yes dave is doing it at a lower level, him and deane definetly doing it for ireland. Not for europe.
Its just slmething that i have noticed on top of a beast of the driver piotr is. Im also into minute 12 of the video and has not mentioned one thing about drift masters since he doesnt own that. Which is also one thing i noticed that the irish seem to hate on piotr. Except deane of course
@angelwalker. No dave has helped make drift masters what it is and if you want proof watch drift games video of the championship in Poland you'll see just how much of it is down to dave and his amazing team they truly are gonna go down in history for Drifting

What an amazing one to sit through - love Dave's mindset and persistent attitude to making things work as long as you enjoy it. As a long time follower of their work, basically since the start of the channel, it's insane to see how far it's all come. Nothing but bigger and better things in the future, as terrible as the fire is, it's really pushed the Drift Games brand further and onto more eyes which will just snowball the success. Super excited for the future of these boys, especially as someone working full time in the automotive media and drifting space.
I've been watching DriftGames since their first video. The guys have had many trials and tribulations along the way but this set back was huge and to see Dave's attitude on the flip side is so inspiring. Because of these guys I had the courage to start my own company and I'm sure it's not just me they've inspired. What a great podcast this was, Dave's definitely a fighter that's for sure 💪🏻
I met Des (Daves dad) back when they were starting to take over the IDC, Helped them out on a few bits for a couple of events.

This was a brilliant podcast really great to hear Dave's story from the start to where he is now and how things have just the drive to keep going after each hurdle is amazing. When he was speaking of his first cars I remember back in the day he had a two tone silver and red saloon civic max power style and his brother had I believe a two tone red and black ek hatch back in the max power days if he reads this comment I hope I'm not wrong in the descriptions. I have zero doubt drift games will come back bigger and stronger with his mindset. Best of luck 🤞

Amazing podcast. Dave's take on why some people in Ireland are anti "flashy" things makes it so much easier to deal with negative feelings it can bring. I think its subsiding a bit more with each generation people are lifting each other up a lot more.

Id probably never tell him to his face, as you cant get near the man, but he is definitely one of my heroes. Thats coming from a 33 year old man whos first exposure to drifting was a soaking wet, windy day at Anglesey circuit in 2016 where a certain Dave Egan was commentating on the BDC (and i believe announced he was taking over the championship). Hes now brought drifting in europe on so much that hes filling stadia, and used that FOMO marketing to get me out to Poland this year. I cant wait, and I wish Dave all the luck in the world after what has happened.

What he says about the tax system is so true. You can have a limited company but there are so few ways get money out of it tax efficiently vs the UK that you're mostly making money that you can't actually spend. There's very few tax efficient ways invest it either other than top up pension. They don't want people getting wealthy here.

but I do kinda disagree on the other topic Rallying is way bigger than drifting in Ireland I love both scenes and the money spent to rally is crazy aswell and the biggest rallys of the year like Donegal International rally have attendance over 120 thousand people 💯🤙👌

Can’t wait for Dave to get into politics. He gets it and understands how backwards and blinkered the system is.
He mentions going somewhere else. Why NOT move up the road "half an hour from here" to just the other side of the border in the U.K.? Fully participate locally like you always have, and all of that, but the cars and all of that are where it's cheaper and easier to work on them, insure them, and the government isn't making your life quite as miserable. Note to those who aren't familiar with Ireland... you can just drive across the border and all that really changes is the markings on the road. There are no checkpoints any more, and if being 2-3km (miles I guess since it's U.K. there) the other side and driving a car with U.K. plates on it to the same meetup versus Ireland plates... That might be worth looking into if it saves a lot of money. So eventually two buildings - one with the business and front-end and all of that, plus merch and cars that are on display, and the other where " half an hour from here" the cars are registered and worked on.

Yo, comparing drifting to F1 is a bit of a stretch, don't you think? Back in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, racing was super dangerous, with a high risk of death. Drifting is cool to watch, but the competitive side of it reminds me more of WWE than F1. Rally racing, on the other hand, is more like UFC. And youtuber likes Lamborghini's is so original. And funding, I guess you had good insurance.
Neither the fire footage nor the aftermath looked 'normal' to me. How does a building still stand..all four walls and all but a portion of the roof are intact ,while everything inside it has been completely and utterly destroyed in a fire so hot that metal is warped but wood isn't touched....cars are incinerated as to be almost unrecognizable. Windows have melted and door handles are missing and the debris on the floor is broken into small pieces that appear to be from some kind of explosion rather than any kind of fire , is that unburned insulating material? And, seemingly no amount of water will extinguish this 'fire'? I'll say it again....dig deeper....looks like Maui or Chile fires. Is your business unliked?

What I am questioning then is why do the contents on the inside, all the cars, etc. look like they've been burned at a very, abnormally hot temperature, while the building, with the exception of part of the roof, is still standing?? And it appeared in the video that everything on the outside, up against the walls of the building, remained in perfect condition!! How can a fire burn so hot on the inside, yet everything on the outside remains untouched? When they walked through the second floor it sounded like they were walking on pieces of hard debris ...what was it, where did it come from? It looks like there is a lot of insulation or something...what is it and why didn't it burn up too? What happened to all the car windows....did they melt as it appears? Why are the car handles missing? Were they being worked on? Were there any puddles of aluminum that had melted from the cars? I am naturally curious about this because I have seen videos of cars, buildings,even trees that, like this, have burned the same way....almost like they burned entirely from the inside out, like a microwave.

How can you not get the emotions going seeing knowing and hearing Dave, this man is just a pure inspiration not just for his crew but for so many of us that watch, i can't wait to see what the future will bring,
