  • Remember to get the clients information - address, phone number, drivers license, full name, and even more importantly it's a good idea to have their credit card on file. This will help prevent no returns.

    You have covered almost each topic that I have been curious about pertaining to the party rental business. Rookie here that truly appreciates the content.

    I had to send a notarized certified letter. Customer received the letter. Sent all information and pictures to sheriff department today Wondering what happens next.

    Good to hear that lack of returns don't happen that often but still surprised that you do need to do reminder calls for the next couple of days! Need to start a Collection Agency for representing Rental Companies! 🤣

      You see a business idea behind every corner/video. Love it! You know that some people can't even find one business idea!

      @@TheRentalJourney Ha! Just love business!

    One thing that I learned when I Rented at Uhaul is the way they do it is they make sure they get 2 contact numbers , email address and picture ID . I will be applying the same Business Method on my Business because when it comes to Renting its very important that the Customer is Responsible for Returning items or extra fees will apply .

      Two contact numbers isn't a bad idea. I think that might really help. I ask my clients to verify the number on file - and if it matches I know that likely it is not a made up #!

      @@TheRentalJourney very true and kind of funny but now I understand why.. When I rented from the U Haul place they actually called and verified to see if it wasnt a fake number..

    This is so important.
    What’s your policy for somebody else picking up different than the person that initially booked?
    This is often what happens for my pickups.

      I end up giving it to them as it's quite common. As long as things add up.

    How do i note someones card details and identification onto paper

    • @TheRentalJourney
      @TheRentalJourney  Před 4 lety

      Scan it, or type out the name and address. We type it out. Although eventually I'd like some sort of quick scanning system.

    If a day or two goes by do you charge their card for those extra days or do you do your due diligence and give them the benefit of the doubt before taking that step?

    • @TheRentalJourney
      @TheRentalJourney  Před 4 lety +1

      After 2 days (If no response) I charge them the extra time. If they are responsive I am much more lenient and wait until they return. Typically they do respond.

    If we have the time, we try to call them about 1.5-2hrs before closing on the day that it's supposed to be returned, and just ask "when we should be expecting them.". That has helped us get our things back on time.
    Do you do Damaged waivers yet?

    • @TheRentalJourney
      @TheRentalJourney  Před 4 lety

      Definitely have damage waivers and forms and everything. I'll make an updated video on that at some point.
