back again for the 10th time, this vid helps me set my watch which, after setting the time 10 times, I still have trouble remembering how to do it, Thanks guys x10!!!
I’ve been watching this video twice a year for the past 6 years to adjust my watch. It’s just occurred to me that this actually crazy and I should either learn it once for all or buy another brand.
Well after watching 20 of these videos.....John finally got it right. I got my watch set the FIRST TIME !!! And now I am happy. And now I can sit here with my watch keeping the right time.....and be happy. yes...now I am very happy.
This saves my mind. Bought a 2339 a month ago for my 76 y/o brother who is in a nursing home. He asked me for a watch, so ordered one for him. Came with a wrong time. Spent 3 weeks trying to set it without success. Found your CZcams and set the watch in 5 MINS. THANKS TONS, I'M 78 y/o
Hi Irosh, In order to check a speed you have to input a ‘distance value’ (ie Miles, Kilometres etc) in stopwatch mode. You have to ensure that the stopwatch is set to zero and hold ‘adjust’ for 3 seconds and DIST appears in the bottom right window. Press ‘mode’ to move between options and use ‘reverse’ and ‘forward’ to view the distance value options. When you are happy with your selections ‘Adjust’ exits the menu. Speed is indicated in Stopwatch mode on the upper right dial, the centre dial and the mach window. The 10s are indicated by the speed hand in the centre dial, the 100s are indicated in the upper right hand dial and Mach indicates a 1000 (however mach only kicks in after 1226). The speed check only goes up to 1998 of whatever distance value you have chosen. Hope this is helpful.
Thanks, Mate! The simplest & most coherent walk-through I've come across. Thanks to you, I set my G Shock up in 3 minutes. You're a great help. -subbed-
Thanks for the help. I started wearing a G-Shock in the 80's when I was a UPS driver, but still have a helluva time adjusting them. The time changed today - It's Sunday morning - so I'm back at it battling with my 2 watches lol. I THINK I've got both of them changed correctly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at noon my watch doesn't think it's midnight and switch to Monday!
Hi Leatile Mr T, City code relevant to South Africa is CAI (Cairo), JRS (Jerusalem) or ATH (Athens) which are all UTC+2. H-Set is used for home position corrections. It is a function used for resetting the hands if they lose synch, which can happen if the unit is subjected to strong magnetism or a forceful impact. In Timekeeping mode you need to press and hold ‘Forward’ until H-Set appears on the bottom right dial. The speed hand on the centre dial needs to be pointed at 50, when it is press ‘Mode’. The main hands should both be pointing at 12 if they are not use ‘Reverse’ and ‘Forward’ to guide them into position. Press ‘Adjust’ when you are happy that everything is in position. Thanks
Hello from Carlisle,Thanks very much indeed John,I have a few watches but I don’t wear them as I have this stifling feeling if I wear one;I had a Casio g 100 I bought a year ago there were so many other channels and videos and I was struggling to set this watch and I found your immaculate tutorial and after almost a year this morning I found the watch in an old box and thought to change the settings as it is winter here in UK and I guess this watch travelled with me to Delhi ,India 5 months ago and showing Del as the city again it was so frustrating and I was again having a very rough time going through so many videos of so many obnoxious and vague and lotus eating morons who frustrated me to near death and by some divine intervention again I found you,you have proved that English are the best teachers and time keepers and watch connoisseurs .Thanks finally I don’t have my hair on fire.
The watch ist perfect in the colours shown in the video. I have one with blue hands and its not easy to read the time in dim light. So take care to get a piece of this watch with yellow or white hands. Than you have a real good watch.
Hi, most of Arizona doesn't observe daylight savings rules for the Mountain time zone so I think you would require 'DEN' for Denver in the Summer and 'LAX' for Los Angeles in the winter. Any problems then don't hesitate to let us know!
Great instructional video! I just my G-Shock in the sand color yesterday, and your easy to understand video helped out more than the little complicated manual that came with the watch! Thanks! :)
+Ryan Banks i just got 1 for my birthday and yeah its fucking confusing as shit... and the handles point to the wrong time. im having a extremely hard time trying to adjust the watches time correctly
***** yep. I love my G-Shock but it's a pain in the arse. I might buy two and keep one on winter time and one summer time so I don't have to change them lol
Ryan Banks yeah its a pain in the ass but i finally figured it out.. in order for your handles to change to the correct time you first must have the correct city time.. in order to change this hold MODE until it beeps and the bottom right box starts flashing with the city. go through the leaflet and find a city thats within your time zone. for example im LON (london) and once selected you should see it displayed the correct time on the left box *look at other phones to see if its the correct time* after that i think you press mode again and the watches handles will adjust to the correct time! hope this helps
Hi Ike Angelo, I would check that the Daylight Savings Time is turned on. The hands should automatically move to the correct setting for the home city selected. If you are 1 hour out this is often the issue particularly at this time of year. Hope this rectifies your problem. Thanks,
One thing to add: how to switch from digital time to digital date readout: just hit the "forward" button straightaway, and it switches from one to the other.
Thanks for the video. I am in Berlin zone, but when I ser BER it moved the hands to six hours behind. So I changed it to NYC time and now it’s fine, LOL !
Hi Carlos, If you were using a timezone which was 1 hour out it could be affected by the DST setting. As you are having to select a time zone that is 2 hours out I would suggest that your watch isn’t picking up the radio signal properly. It could be an issue if you are using a European model in the U.S especially if it isn’t a multi-region Casio. I would suggest if it is causing you problems to contact Casio and clarify the issue. Thanks and hope this is of help to you.
I cant tell you how many times I have used this video for the Daylight savings lol. So easy to do but I always forget when you only need to do it twice a year
I figured all of this out by playing with the watch before finding this video. If you follow the instructions properly and your watch still will not keep time properly, what do we do then? My watch shows me as being 1 hour ahead of the actual time (if it is 8:30, my watch displays 9:30). If I toggle the DST setting, then I move two hours off instead of getting on time. This is with the proper timezone setting. I suppose I could simply choose the wrong time zone, but this does not seem an entirely satisfactory solution. --- Edit: messed around with it a little more, now the hours and minutes are off. Strangely, the small digital clock has the correct time, but the analog hands are incorrect on both hours and minutes (not even close).
Can you explain how to adjust the brightness settings. I just bought this watch for my Dad however it is difficult to see the numbers even after you press the reverse button for the illumination
This watch is not the same that shows up on the beginning. There's some differences. Look at the small left circle. I was looking for one of this on Amazon, but i'm not sure which one i should buy. Can you guys help me? Sorry my poor English.
I got this watch in the sand sort of colour and I'm now wondering: what's the point of the glow in the dark numbers??? The hands don't stretch out far enough to be able to tell what time it is. So what US the point
Great video and I'm sure I've used this video before bc of your kick ass accent. But when changing my Daylight savings time I pull it up just fine and it blinks Off yet I can't get it to toggle on? And those buttons work I know because I can use the back light. So what would be my unique problem? The only thing I can guess is maybe I need a new battery?
Just hold mode till it blinks. Then click adjust. Then you use the reset and start button to switch up and down between your choices and click mode as a continue button to next setting.
got the blue version of this in the mail a few days ago and im sending it back today,,, its simply so dark that you annot tell time unless theres alot of light in the room, and even in total darkness while pressing the light in the clock, i cant see the time,,,
As someone who only buys straight analogue watches (usually from Seiko and Citizen). Wow. I've got one on the way. Now, being that I travel a lot from Adelaide (no problem - ADL) to Tucson (BIG PROBLEM) I'll need to do this quite often. However, Tucson uses Mountain Standard Time (as does Phoenix) and there appear to be no settings for either of these. What would be best?
@Thebaysfinest After setting the correct city you can then adjust the digital time to the exact correct time and the analog hands will adjust to the correct time. Mine was about 5 min off until I adjusted the digital time setting then it corrected itself.
why did they make this watch so difficult? I watched your video, you explain it very well but i still couldnt do it , i couldnt find my time zone , but when i left the watch alone it moved to the correct time by it self , very weird
If you hold te light button for a short time. A littel bar wil appear in your up left side. Now everytime you turn youre wrist the light wil auto jump on. 🤗😉
back again for the 10th time, this vid helps me set my watch which, after setting the time 10 times, I still have trouble remembering how to do it, Thanks guys x10!!!

Lol same

it’s been 2 years .
do you own one now?
12:30 is not morning lol
Thanks, Mate! The simplest & most coherent walk-through I've come across. Thanks to you, I set my G Shock up in 3 minutes. You're a great help. -subbed-

I just wanna get the day correct….
I've been looking for a video about this watch. Thank you for posting!

Thats a killer g shock man, those white hits are something elsr
Hi Declan, you can select 'MAD' for Madrid which is the same time zone. Hope this is of use to you
I have a GREAT shock first time setting it. the digital portion reads correct but the arm for hours won't move
Cheers for this video mate, I always used to struggle with time zones and dst.
Does this set the digital clock as well?
Can you explain how to adjust the brightness settings. I just bought this watch for my Dad however it is difficult to see the numbers even after you press the reverse button for the illumination
I have mine set to LA, which is correct but the time is a minute or two off. Is there a way to change the clock?
When i set country and DST the hands move to totally the wrong time, does this mean the watch is faulty ?
This watch is not the same that shows up on the beginning. There's some differences. Look at the small left circle. I was looking for one of this on Amazon, but i'm not sure which one i should buy. Can you guys help me? Sorry my poor English.
Great explanation HUGE THANK YOU!!

Hi Jon, If you set it to NYC, you will get U.S Eastern time!
got the blue version of this in the mail a few days ago and im sending it back today,,, its simply so dark that you annot tell time unless theres alot of light in the room, and even in total darkness while pressing the light in the clock, i cant see the time,,,
the analog hands were set to 2:22 when digitally it displays 5:30.. how do you get them to sync up? or what's the function there I'm confused
Good Watch and a good video thank you gentlemaen
Thanks for this nice and easily understood video
As someone who only buys straight analogue watches (usually from Seiko and Citizen). Wow.
I've got one on the way.
Now, being that I travel a lot from Adelaide (no problem - ADL) to Tucson (BIG PROBLEM) I'll need to do this quite often.
However, Tucson uses Mountain Standard Time (as does Phoenix) and there appear to be no settings for either of these. What would be best?
Thanks got it right away but my buttons were labbeled H-SET, ADJUST, LIGHT AND MODE but it was still very easy
That was a simple and precise video. Cheers
Mountain Time is a US time zone, which is 7 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
Thanks for this film, is there a way to adjust the time, I need to push mine 2 minutes back? it is not at the exact time.
@Thebaysfinest
After setting the correct city you can then adjust the digital time to the exact correct time and the analog hands will adjust to the correct time. Mine was about 5 min off until I adjusted the digital time setting then it corrected itself.
how is this performed?
Awesome!!
Making my biannual trip to this video.
Thank you so much for providing this instruction.
Thank you had to watch 3 videos before I could turn off DST!
Thanks for the video. How can I increase the time the light is on on the watch?? I can't figure it out!!
Thx this video really helped 👍🏼
why did they make this watch so difficult? I watched your video, you explain it very well but i still couldnt do it , i couldnt find my time zone , but when i left the watch alone it moved to the correct time by it self , very weird
If you hold te light button for a short time. A littel bar wil appear in your up left side. Now everytime you turn youre wrist the light wil auto jump on. 🤗😉
Brilliant video thank you 💚🇮🇪
