Really curious why Etali didn't go for a win with Eldritch and Gamble. Thats Foodchain in hand and squee on field, with a 75% chance of success on gamble. I'd take those odds anyday.
That, or he could have used Eldritch to sac etalia and pull hellkite course (unsure if running it) which means another etalia trigger.
But do agree with the food chain squee line. And if he resolves gamble first and loses food chain, he can just find another creature than squee.
@anthonycarter2919 yeah, just grab E. Wit and pull the food chain out of the yard if need be.
But just something to think about for future games for sure.
@@LightBulbPlayz sadly then no squee. And food chain without squee is solid, but not sure how many more etalia triggers it gets that turn.

Ian's turbo derevi have me brewing a budget version of derevi for high power casual. The combo with emil to untap something that taps for more than 3 seems fun.

Yeah I normally think of derevi as just a heavier stax list so it was fun to be more proactive
@@DeadOnBoardMTG i used to love stax. thank god they are not viable. now i can play the turbo decks and by turbo decks i mean the bant midrange with incremental value
I agree as a player, although I feel not great that it's not viable want to see a more diverse meta
@@DeadOnBoardMTG i feel that this wish is kinda doomed. we are playing a vintage powerlevel and vintage legality format.
i know that in actual vintage they have stax and creature decks, as in fair decks, but they have 4ofs of the best effects and those decks only have to race one opponent. i feel that without bannings the format is not going to slow down. if anything it is going to speed up even more as better and better cards replace the old less efficient staples
Yeah I think its more my nostalgia of cedh from a while back, although I honestly think the grindier midrange games makes for better actual videos lol
