We spent the week in New York City leading up to the Shorty Awards, and it was extra special because both of our moms flew all the way from Nashville to spend the weekend with us! In this vlog we ate huge pastrami sandwiches at Katz Deli, went to Times Square, took the local ferry FREE to Staten Island to get a good view of the Statue of Liberty, ate Mexican food, visited Chinatown... basically all of the touristy things because that's what we are :)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this CZcams channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I know this is 5 years old, but thank you for visiting my favorite city in the world! I’m very limited in my knowledge, but I am also very biased and have to say that there is no other place like my home city! You did a great job showcasing a few NYC highlights. My Mum is going to NYC in November this year!! I'm so excited for her! We're from a small country town in Australia so I think the crowds will be a bit of a shock but she loves adventure so I'm sure she will have a blast.. I just wish I was going with her :)
Jessica Gordon she will love it!!! We are a family of four from a small South American city. We went as a family twice. First time only four days. Second time, almost 20 days!!!!!!!! Loved every step of the journey. Tell her to use the subway or she will get exhausted. Also, picnic in Central Park with a nap on the lawn. She can get good food from Whole Foods in Columbus Circle, right across the street from the park. Ok I’ll stop now. I get so excited 😆!!! Ooohhh, she should do the top of the Rock!!!!! Amazing view!!!!!! Good luck to her!!

Awww wish I saw you guys while you were here! Congrats on the award!! Poor Staten Island...forgotten child of the 5 boroughs...I always say it as part of my work. Bridge, very crowded wow. Only walked over the bridges early morning and never this crazy.
I was fortunate enough to visit NYC back in 2007. This video reminded me of how great of a city New York is! I think everyone should travel there at least once.
And if you do make it at Katz's deli, you better be sure not to lose that ticket stub they give you or else you'll be in deep trouble...haha

I used to walk across the Bk bridge after work a lot a few years ago and the thing is that had of that narrow walk is supposed to be for bicycles and the other for walking but people like to walk side by side with their group and that takes up the whole half so people go walking over to the bike side. I realized that I hated walking the bridge due to all the crowds and people stopping suddenly blocking the way and forcing people to walk on the bike side to get past them, so I began walking from the Manhattan bridge. The Manhattan bridge is just so much more peaceful and civil and it takes you to Chinatown in Manhattan. You also get a great view of the Bk bridge, but from not the Bk bridge
