How to cook Eru Step by Step

  • Eru is a Cameroonian Traditional meal. It originated from Banyangi, South West Region of Cameroon
    Ingredients
    -Dried or fresh Eru leaves (vegetable)
    -water leaf or spinach
    -smoked or fresh beef
    -Dried Fish
    -Cow Skin (canda)
    -Cow stomach (towel)
    -chicken gizzard (optional)
    -palm oil
    -Crayfish
    -2 seasoning cubes
    -3 Maggie
    -salt to your taste
    -1 Onion (optional)to steam the beef
    PROCEDURE
    1,Wash eru and waterleaf separately and keep to drain.
    2, Wash meat an put in the pot on the fire and add your onion , pepper, Maggie and salt, allow to boil then add canda and fish.Allow to steam till ready and water dries off.
    3,Add waterleaf to the meat and stir for 1min then add your eru and stir for 1min.
    4, Immediately add oil,salt and Maggie and continue stiring.
    5,Add crayfish and stir again then allow to cook for 10mins with the pot open.
    Put it down as your eru is set.
    This special Cameroonian delicacy is eaten with garri or water fufu
