How to Unlock AT&T phone w/ code LG Shine CU720 & Activate Straight Talk SIM

You don't need to jailbreak or pay to have this phone unlocked! (unless it is stolen) Call ATT customer service and ask them for the unlock code. If you have been a good standing customer and you're off contract there should be no reason why they wont give it to you. They will ask for your IMEI number. Have a pen ready for your 16 digit unlock code. (This code is unique to you. Everyone will get a different one) They should also give you a code to enter in to get you past the "Emergency Call Only" screen. They forgot to give me the code so I got it online. Here it is: *#865625#
Go to Straight Talk website and purchase SIM or buy it at WalMart.
Activate your SIM. You can port(keep) your current number for free.
Wait for ATT service to stop working on your phone.
Take ATT sim card out and replace with Straight Talk SIM
It will say it is not recognized or something and will show that you can only make emergency calls. This is when you enter *#865625# now you will be prompted to enter your 16 digit unlock code twice. After that, you should be good to go.
I did this for my parents because like many people they were tired of paying an arm and a leg for ATT family talk. 2 phones officially off of ATT and on with Straight Talk! This calls for a celebration.
