My dad died when i was 23 im 40 now and my fondest memory of him is when he would play badminton with me and would call me viv richards when i would play gully cricket, absolutely cheat and tonk the smaller kids around my gully in Bangalore. Your pod is definitely sociology and story telling through the lens of cricket. that is an art and does touch people in different ways.

Mitch is a good bloke but he is a bowler. He carried on like a good sort over Warner being a meanie to him, dude HTFU ! He will forever be held in high regard for sticking it to the Pomies in 13/14, 3 of them quit and went back to England half way through the series. Warner is still one of Australias top batsmen no question his 164 shows it. In Australia Warner is money. Warner is from Matraville I think he found Johnston's rough up soft. Warners wife would wupp Mitch, sad.

25:28 Calling Johnson "good player" is a massive understatement Peza. He was untouchable in 2013-14 ashes and took crucial wickets in the World cup 2015 and also pushing Australia to 300+ in the semi finals with the bat. Mitch is one of the best fast bowlers in cricket.
But the problem is he came back from a toe injury to become his absolute best. Warner suffered the punishment for his scandal and won Australia the T20 WC. Why can't he have a farewell tho?

I think that anyone who claims that the drawn Ashes series was a meritorious result for Australian cricket, the team, the selectors or the leadership in any way is kidding themselves. I’ve been following the Australian team diligently for 40 and a bit years and I didn’t think there was too much to be satisfied with throughout the series but I keep hearing people add it to the list of achievements this year. It’s definitely not on my list.

Winning away from home in England is notoriously difficult. Haven’t done it in 22 years. Ergo, returning with the urn has merit. Pretty simple logic. But of course, longjohn, most of us may not share your lofty standards.

    • @longjohn5322

@@thegradecricketer9633 A weak, non factual, assumptive and condescending response. Stick to what you’re good at. Which is an accurate and credible assessment and reenactment of club cricket culture and change room trash talk.
If you focus on the last 34 years, is it still notoriously difficult to win an Ashes series in England? And as for accusing me of having lofty standards, where the f… have you been and what have you been watching since the breakthrough 1987 World Cup win? Am I just imagining that Australia has won 6 ODI WC’s and been ranked the no1 Test side so many times during the same period, including a historic period of reign during the 90’s & 00’s? The Australian cricket team has set their own astronomical standard, let alone lofty. My standard could never measure up to theirs.

Warner's red ball form is putrid. His white ball form is good but I don't think that should be considered for red ball selection. A blind man could make runs on a flat one-day/T20 wicket! Anyway, he will get his send off and then bon voyage to his missus the irrelevant one!

I will take the subscription for one month and then I will cancel it. That's what I do. I've often done this in the past guys. If there's a major event I want to watch. I will check out the rules and I will subscribe. And then I will cancel it and block them on my credit card after that easy, you can just make up a fake name with a debit card and then essentially I take out the subscription for one month and then I cancel it and make sure I block them and cancel the debit card after easy they wanna f-ck with me, I'll f-ck with them!..... The subscription services are absolute crap for 90% of the year and then they suddenly get the rights to a sporting event. I'm not playing. Yeah I'll take out the subscription but like I said I have a way around it and it's very simple I'm sharing this because I encourage everyone else to do the same and that way they'll get the message.
