- Today we are going to tour every upperclassman dorm at Duke University. We will see at least one dorm from every West Campus quad and Duke's off-campus apartments. And that's not all! Each student that'll be showing us their dorms today will also answer some questions like how they found their roommates and "Why Duke?"

This is amazing. A full view of dorms is just want a perspective student needs, especially during COVID when many tours are not what they have been in the past. One thing to add would be the bathrooms, curious what they look like.

Thanks for the awesome video! I'm curious to know a little bit more about Duke culture as a whole and people's experiences? I mainly hear positive things, which I mean ofc, but I think it would be cool to have a video specifically dedicated to CONS about Duke, that might give me more to consider when making my college list.

Where I graduated from College there is a somewhat outdated dorm tour. The video just gives a general idea of what each dorm is kind of like. The website gives pretty much an exact idea of what the rooms (suites) are going to be like.

This was extremely helpful thank you! I just applied to Duke. I'm not sure if I will get in or if I will go there, but I wanted to figure out housing. Do any dorms have bathrooms that are shared by like 2-4 people or are they really big?
Depends! Most dorms have bathrooms shared by more people, but Hollows and Swift are shared by 2-4 people.
Wilson on east is also shared between 2-4 people I believe.

Wanted to say thank you so much! I’m considering applying to Duke (b/c of QuestBridge College Match) and this is super helpful! My only question would be what is the most applied dorm? Also are there dorms with floors separated by sex/gender?
I'm a freshman at duke this year!
There are east campus floors separated by gender, I'm pretty sure Southgate has all male and all female floors, but I'm not sure about west campus dorms besides Edens, which is separated by pod.
As for "most applied dorm", I'm not quite sure what you mean by that?

Housing applications are about to change really really soon to something Duke is calling "QuadEx." It's difficult to really answer that since the residential system and applications are changing a bit.

There are some dorms with floors separated by sex/gender, some that aren't. Freshman housing is slightly different and is on east campus. I'm not 100% sure you can choose to have a floor that is separated or not separated in that way, but that might be a question you could ask Duke HRL (Housing and Residential Life)

Hi! This one is tough... From what I know, most grad students live all over the place off campus, although there are some on campus options. There's also options to be a graduate resident in the on campus dorms.

I’m curious about Freshman dorms. While being secluded from the rest of the students helps create a sense of community, do you find that there are enough opportunities for Freshmen to interact with upper class men?
