I live in Chapel Hill... Go UNC haha, but typical temp during the winter is like 20-30 degrees, I wish it was 40 lol. Duke is a gorgeous campus though!
Hi! I hope you don’t mind me asking, but what is your favorite/least favorite thing(s) about UNC Chapel Hill? I’m having a difficult time narrowing down the places I want to apply to, and UNC is one that I’m not sure about.
@@taylorquick25 It really depends on what you are majoring in. UNC has an amazing business department as well as their medical program. NC State has a really good accounting and finance program as well as their vet and engineering program. Duke also has a really great medical program. It also depends on what kind of area you want to be in and the people you want to be around. UNC is a pretty decent area when it comes to meeting people and eating, but there are a lot of homeless people in Chapel Hill. NC State Raleigh area is actually really nice and Duke is in a decent area of Durham, but in general Durham isn't the safest place. I hope that helps!
@@taylorquick25 I grew up in Chapel Hill and went to Duke, and I would absolutely recommend applying to UNC if you're interested in a big state school experience. I know a LOT of people who went there (tons of people from my high school) and they overwhelmingly loved it, with a handful of exceptions. Most complaints seem to be about certain aspects of student life (housing, food etc. aren't amazing like a lot of schools these days, but aren't gross either) and the type of things you generally get at state schools that are managing a lot of students (at Duke, my personal experience as an undergrad was a priority to the administration, but at bigger schools you have to advocate for yourself more when you need things and sometimes you don't get what you want). My friends at UNC loved their professors and the culture of school spirit there is amazing. It offers a rare combination of state school culture and elite academics.

I'm going to share the secret to success. California State University, Sacramento is the best university. I'd choose to attend there over any of these other elite universities that are presented in all the college CZcams videos that I watch.
Is no one else just absolutely shook at how they sleep 12 hours? Seven hours is most definitely NOT sleep deprivation lol
Went to Duke. Did not know a single person who consistently got a full 8 hours. Average was probably 6 (still is not bad at all), closer to 4 during especially busy weeks.
