    a bruised reed He will not break, and a faintly burning wick He will not quench
    Isaiah 42:3
    All of us have tasted brokenness at some stage of our lives. To deny this also exists in our walk of faith would be dishonest as we find ourselves sometimes confused, even angry as we try to understand God’s will and purpose. This album emerges from that struggle, so clearly seen in the Psalms, of God’s people longing to serve Him with a fervour born of love, despite doubts and despair at the evil in the world, the church and ourselves that causes us to see ‘through the glass darkly’.
    Having been broken before Him though, with the reality of our sins and our failures, we find ourselves un|broken, forgiven, lifted in praise and adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of glory, Lord of lords and the Author of our faith.
    This album is dedicated to all those involved in the struggle of life, love and righteousness with the prayer of the exile band that you will come through the battles to know Him closer than a brother.
    Do You Not Know?
    (Isaiah 40:21-31)
    by Rebecca Hardie
    Soloist: Rebecca Hardie
    Isaiah 40 v 21 - 31 is one of my all time favourite verses. Isaiah writes, it seems to me, with a mixture of concern and compassion as well as urgency and frustration, to people who have never heard, to people that don't yet grasp, and to those who forget the awesome greatness of God. This song was written not just for those who are yet to hear of God but also for those who have heard and don't understand - of which, sometimes, I am one.
    Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
    Has nobody told you?
    Do you not understand?
    Since the earth was founded
    He sits enthroned above the circles of the earth.
    Do you not know?
    Have you not heard?
    Has nobody told you?
    Do you not understand?
    He's the everlasting God,
    Creator and sustainer of the heavens and the earth.
    He gives strength to those who are weary;
    Increases the power of the weak.
    And all those that hope in the Lord
    They will soar on wings like eagles.
    Even the youths grow tried and are weary,
    Young men they stumble and are broken;
    But all those that hope in the Lord,
    They will run and not grow weary,
    They will walk and not be faint.
    To whom will you compare him?
    Who is his equal?
    Lift your eyes to the heavens!
    Since the earth was founded
    He sits enthroned above the circles of the earth.
    Creator and sustainer of the heavens and the earth.
