I'm so excited to have gotten footage of my experience sailing on the Royal Princess to share the accessibility of the ship for mobility scooter/wheelchair users - especially how I got onto a tender boat with Scootz. Alaska was so beautiful, I felt like I was in a postcard the whole trip! A trip definitely worth taking and feeling the Princess love from the crew.

I've wanted to take that cruise but due to physical challenges I've been hesitant. Watching you get around on your scooter gave me the realization that I could use my mobility chair to enjoy the excursion too
Chelsea, I'm so glad you had the opportunity to go on this cruise. Charlotte (my wife) and I have thought about an Alaskan cruise, but being retired it's a little above our vacation budget, ha! I love your constant smile. Steve.

So glad you had a great time! I love how accommodating the cruise line seemed to be. I've been on 8 cruises in my life so far, and the debarkation process is always the worst part, not just because vacation is over but because it's typically chaotic.
So happy for you....took my daughter on same cruise grew years bak , most enjoyable. Beautiful part of the earth...Love to ya ..❤

I’m 45, born with Spina Bifida and use a wheelchair full time. I love to travel and working for a major airline helps that ability. Lol. I’ve been on about a dozen cruises (mostly on Princess), twice to Alaska. About half of them have been solo. I am cruising to the Panama Canal in November and cannot wait!

thats really interesting with the balcony. never thought about accessibility on a cruise. good to know others did think about these things. sisters in a chair due to ms and cruises with the whole family have been a fairly regular thing every couple of years, but the last one was before she was chair bound. nice to know if we want to do another it may be much easier for her.
So nice to see a traveler really enjoy their trip. You looked relaxed, as your friend and you took in God' green earth. The ship looks amazing. I hear from everybody the food is the best on cruises. Great sailng vacation.

For me, that view after the tram ride would be worth the price of admission. What a fantastic view! But trams are always a bit scary.
Recently went on a family cruise to the Bahamas and needed to rent a mobility scooter due to severe arthritic conditions. Couldn’t have did it if not for the scooter and it was a godsend. I didn’t need a handicapped room but being able to get around the large cruise ship on the scooter made what would have been a definite hardship a real pleasure! Thanks for making videos such as this to show people that travel is doable even for the disabled! Where there’s a will there’s a way! 😘

Hey Chelsea! I did the Princess Alaska cruise back in May 2011 from Seattle. Trip of a lifetime! I hope to go back. You will love it! I even did the White Pass Railroad journey when we stopped in Skagway.

I did an Alaska cruise more than 20 years ago and had a blast. I did two shore excursions. In Juneau we did the Mendenhall Glacier rafting tour and it was fun. In Ketchikan, we did a canoe tour. We did not do any shore excursions in Skagway.
Chelsea, you are a truly beautiful person. I loved watching your voyage aboard the cruise ship. Experiencing this journey through your eyes is truly enchanting. I'm certain that even if I had been on that ship, setting sail for Alaska, my experience wouldn't have been as profound as witnessing you live it.

I used to always Cruise with Princess Cruiselines (I grew up watching The Love Boat 😊) but I used the Saphire Princess to the Mexican Riviera. It's the smallest of their Ships but I looooved their Spa👍 Glad You had Great Time ❤❤❤❤

I’m so glad I saw this video. I’m a soon to be 60 year old living with CP and going on my first cruise soon and was so nerves of the little things that always go through our heads about steps, no hand rails and how they can stop us from joining in. I have a mobility scooter I call Mable and was not going to take her on the cruise I was just going to take my frame, I may now reconsider this. Did you need to do any pre check with the cruise line before taking scoots on board. I have heard the batteries can be an issue. Love from Australia 🇦🇺 keep the videos coming.

You are a brave woman, they go on a girl. Go for it, you'll have a good time and a cruise. You'll enjoyed life you're on enjoying life. Wait, wait, you got it, and you're doing a good job. Nothing will stop you and II wish a lot of luck and keep up the good work. You got your health all you can use. Keep on walking, don't give up, keep on plugging, keep on fight. You could do anything that you put your mind to. There's nothing that you can't do out do it. Have a good holiday holiday or cruise? Have a nice cruise, enjoy yourself. Because when you get back to home, you have to pay bills. And you gotta get back to nature everyday. So I buy a vitamin on a ship. Take away from the bills and you get. Although relation and things is away from your mind that you're worrying about this way. You enjoy it, I went on a cruise with my mother and we enjoyed it. We went on a Croatian Caribbean. Twice on 2 ships rent a centimeter so OK Brenda saint Thomas saint thomat the same time as we're going to Hawaii for 12 days. That's the next cruise you gotta joy, Hawaii much just need to enjoy that cruise line on there. I wish you had a good time my name is William Smith. I haven't been on a cruise, but when i lived in the Panama canal Zone, where my dad was a Canal pilot, we were able to ride the Island Princess cruise ship through the canal!

First time watching your videos. I saw your short about driving and parking. Glad you had a nice time and everything was accessible for you & Scootz. Absolutely cutest name ever for a scooter. After my stroke, I had to use a rollator walker ith the seat. I called it Wheelie lol An Alaskan cruise would be a dream vacay for me.

Great review, Chelsea. Princess cruises seem to have thought of almost everything to facilitate disabled folk. Loved the ramp onto the balcony.

Thats a huge ship bout how fast did it go ? How much did the temperature drop when you got into the Alaskan waters burrrrr?
You should plan a return trip in the future. But take the cruise that docks in Seward, and then takes the train up the inside passage. Go in June, for the midnight sun. Or, my recommendation, Sept for the Northern Lights. I've done 4 seasons working in AK, Denali and Talkeetna. I wish you the best.
