🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

We need more videos about fear and warm olive skin in the world, also olive tones can be cool and warm, im a very warm green person:))
Warm people have it easier. You would look great in those orange, tomato red tones and cool tones don’t look bad either. We more coolish tones are screwed 😑
Yes, I feel that I’m warm too. The blondes that she suggested would look awful in my head/face
Isn't "olive" neutral per se? I mean, it's in the middle / a mixture of blue and yellow... I wonder, if there is such thing as a "cool" or a "warm" olive. Even though I get that green can be more on the warmer side or more on the cooler side. :)
It's still very interesting, though. Color, especially skin undertone, is such a hard concept to grasp. And I wonder, if I can be "olive", if I'm cool and pale. I had come to terms with being cool, but now I'm wondering if I'm a cool olive, and the thought of it makes me feel uncomfortable. I had thought I'd already figured out what I am! :(
Di :3 I am warm and I have tried almost every color. Pure oranges looked awful, copper worked better. And the majority of reds don’t look good either
I’m cool olive. Never had a foundation match me perfectly before.
Woooah! Who said Pale olive skin? I mean, me? 🤚🏻
You are on point Aly. Any yellow/orange tones are the worst for light olive skin.
My friends used to tell me I was being petty whenever the brassy tones in my hair pretty much ruined my life... but I knew I was right all along!
That's why light Asians love ash and green undertones in their hair. It looks best.
I have pale Olive skin. I hava had copper red and neon yellow hair in the past, both looked great on me
Please I have a question. There is a celebrity I want to ask you if she has olive skin tone or not, is it ok?
doeb23 You may have more warmth in your skin. I am more sallow.
I think this might explain why I like cool, ashy, pink clothing as as a pale olive too?
Pale olive skintone is a chameleon.
Some people are cool olive in the winter and warmer in the summer. Or the skin looks cooler or warmer with different lighting. I feel like I fall in between cool and warm and look best in midtone shades that are not too saturated or too muted. I often have to mix foundation shades as they are too cool or too warm.
Olive skin is complex, I would love to watch a series dedicated to this topic.
OMG! Finally someone who truly understands what "olive skin" is! I have been preaching to every dept store makeup artist I meet about the difference between "olive skin" (cool, cool/neutral, neutral) vs "tan" skin (which is usually "neutral/warm, or "warm" -- as in caramel or honey toned") and how tan is NOT really "olive". It falls on deaf ears, even though I am olive and cool/neutral! lol They always want to put yellow toned foundation on me, and it is always many shades too dar,k. I try to explain how I usually need a fair to light foundation, and about as "putty beige" as they can find --- and of course once they test the foundation I pick, they see I am right. Thank you for your videos! Your video on makeup for black & white photography actually landed me a gorgeous looking driver's license! You are so talented!! As for this video, you are so right -- olive toned people look much better when the blonde they wear is cooler toned! I also find that a slight pink-mauve based blonde (pearl blonde with a double violet base) looks beautiful on fair and light olive skin tones. I can pull off ashy to neutral light blonde easily, but if I go a bit warmer -- I must faux tan to be able to pull it off! :)
yes!
I have olive skin too, but dark skin (am African) and that's so hard to explain! I have a shih tzu too btw haha
@@ambrosia1917 Aren't Shih Tzus just THE best? My baby passed at 16 yo in 2018. I haven't gotten over that loss, and I haven't had the heart to change my user name.I hope to get another little Tzu....but I'm just not ready... . *sending puppy kisses to your little furbaby* 😊
@@shihtzumom7209 sorry for your loss! congrats on 16 years... that's awesome. What did you feed?
@@ambrosia1917 After she reached 18 mos, we switched from puppy food to 100% organic homecoming for her because the dog food caused yeast issues. I made sure to balance the calcium to phosphorous ratio in her food, This is critical if you make your own dog food! I also added supplements, probiotics, etc. We also ONLY did Titers after her set of puppy shots, and we NEVER gave the Lepto shot because it can kill Shih Tzus! The food recipe we used is from Lew Olsen's Wellness Newsletters on the site B-naturals. Homecooking for a Tzu is so easy,, as they are little.. haha We used the LOW GLYCEMIC DIET; as grains can cause yeast issues in Tzus. We also used Homeopathy for storm fright issues, and even for her luxating patella. She avoided surgery that way. 😳 And we used a homeopathic detoxifier by Azmira, 2x month to keep her healthy. Also, she only drank bottled spring water.
Thanks for asking! 💗
As far as I know, there isn’t just one Olive type. There are two: Olive cool and olive warm. Finding out which one you are can help you determine which shade of blonde to get :)
I'm with you in this, as far as I know cool olives will look better with the ashy tones she mentions wereas warm olives (like me) will look better with warmer tones because they will bring out more the warmth in our skin (making the oliveness less noticeable). The key is not going too bright (or brighter than our skin) because that can makes us look washed out. This is of course just what I know by experience, though
can you do a video about ginger hair, and which face complexion suits which shade of red hair!
thank you :)
This is SO true. I discovered this through trial and error with all these hair colours and only yesterday discovered I'm a pale olive! Very true ladies, even the cool strawberry blonde
I totally agree, I dyed my hair buttery blond at a salon once and looked elegant and beautiful, decided to try more golden shade of blonde thinking it will suit my olive skin more but it completely washed my face and brought greenish grey tone to it. Also about the strawberry blonde and the idea that pink in the color cancels the un wanted tones in face, I dyed my hair red once and didnt like it so I used purple shampoo in it just to make it less red but it gave me a nice pastel pink shade and although it did look artificial like you said but it brought so much glow and life to my skin.
I have pale olive skin. I had dark red-violet balayage with my dark hair and it looked great. Any brassiness looks awful though.
Very interesting! I'm little by little learning about color and paying attention. Thank you, Aly!
I’ve been waiting for this video my whole life!!!
Perfect timing!! I'm gonna go blonde next week, and I'm olive. I tried blonde not long ago and I for the longest time thought that I had warm toned skin (because of the yellow overtone I think), and couldn't understand why the blonde that was a bit warm and not so pale made me look weird and washed out. I then realized that I'm actually olive and either +1 og +2 contrast, and that I look much better with lighter and ashier hair. Can't wait to try ashy blonde hair!
Also, finding out that I'm olive on the cooler side, made me realize why I tend to go for cooler tones in clothes. I rarely go for warmer tones. It's awesome finding out about these things ☺️
How did it go?
@@idontkn0ww It was awesome! Ashy blonde suited me so much better than warm blonde
I have pale olive skin and I really liked having ginger hair and pastel red hair. Because red and green are complimentary colors they look amazing together. That's also why strawberry blond looks better than a yellowish blond, because it has those red undertones.
I love my ginger hair too!!! 💕
Okay I'm a pale cool olive and I'm dreaming of going auburn, I think you may have just enabled me to try it!
@@simoneconde5564 you totally should!
Same, I have really pale olive skin with blue eyes and I have never gotten as many compliments as I had when I used to dye my hair a ginger colour!
OMG I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO CONTEMPLATED! With this video I've just discovered myself as fair, olive skin! I always thought I was a warm side, but I look sickly pale on copper hair, for example. And yes, I do think my skin tone looks lifeless and very pale. GEEZ I'M SHOOK THANK YOU
I agree with all of this. I am a natural light olive skin with dark, warm blonde hair. If you put TOO much gold or orange, it's bad. My rule of thumb over the years has become to stick with ashy tones if I want to go very light blonde, and stick with subtle warmth or rose gold tones if I want to stay in the dark blonde range.
Aly your videos are unmatched. I needed this one, thank you!!!
Color theory here is so spot on. I have fair olive skin and any color in a cool tone looks amazing except for the one and only warm choice I do which is a really bright copper red. The bright copper brings out the oliveness but it looks very intentional move. Great job!
I have olive toned skin and surprisingly platinum, and pearl blonde look amazing on me, even though they are generally not advised
I don’t know... I am olive and when I saw your color videos I figured out that I am in the 0 category of contrast. I have ashness but I feel that paler/brighter tones give me a weird look. If my hair is more “golden” I feel healthier with a bronzed look. Skin color is very complex 😩
and I used to be redhead and the color that give me a more natural look was the pure copper, I always wanted to try strawberry blonde but I thought it would not look good. Maybe I could give it a chance ✨
I agree with you completely, a lot of hairdressers use ash toners and I always felt before they'd put the toner over that my skin looked better with the golden brassy tones. That is why I would bleach my own hair. I looked healthier. My eyes would pop and pinks would come out in my skin in a great way, I looked healthy. I am currently rocking a very coppery hair and my skin looks so much better than it was with the ash blonde highlights they put in and my greys were also more noticeable. Now with the copper you're eyes are drawn to the right areas. I must be a warm olive :)
I’m so happy you are making videos again! Love your content ❤️
Yess! I remember someone asking for this topic on the last video I think, thank you Aly for listening 💜
Omg thank you so much!
I needed this
Such great info. Thank you. I would love to see a video about how you currently color, cut and style your hair.
Please do a make up tutorial on your look today! Your skin and eyes - well the whole look is stunning!! Tutorial please!!
this video is super helpful, i am obsessed with aly and her videos ! Im forever thankful
I'm also a very pale olive and for the longest time thought I was warm because of the yellow in my skin. However, once I started learning about skin seasons, I learned I'm actually a dark/deep winter, which means my skin leans slightly cool!
You're talking about cool olive women. Let's not forget warm olives exist too
I think this is the first I’ve ever heard of a cool olive skin tone as warm olive is typically whats talked about so it’s not necessarily forgetting about warms, just shining light on the less popular topic
@@sidneyhill8606 olive skin is so confusing, its so annoying. i have a lotta warmth so u know naturally u think oh ok ur warm olive. but i look horrible in golds. silver suits better. so u think oh cool suits better but then i try to wear cool then it just makes me gray or something lol.
@@santoshthapa8398 Hey I'm the same! Try jewel tones. Deep wines, royal blues! And black makes me look radiant :)
@@bunknee1220 true
Idk, I always heard that olive skin is a "false warm". It looks warm, but it's in fact cool/neutral-cool.
I’d love to hear about dark hair colours for someone with olive skin and dark features. My olive skin can get very pale and lifeless in the winter, but also gets tanned and dark easily as well. I find very dark colours can make me look like a corpse when I’m pale, but perhaps it depends on if it’s warm or cool?
I’m about as contrasted as it gets and even I don’t look my best in black. I noticed I look better in dark warm colors like chocolate brown or burgundy, it adds some life back to my skin.
Or you can take the easy route and put on self tanner. It makes me look less sickly lol!
Brandi Davis thanks for the tip. Black hair also looks bad on me despite having black eyebrows and nearly black hair. I’ll stick to the warm tones!
thank you so much for this vid Aly!!! i hope you will make more videos about pale olive skin in the future!! xo
Thank you so much Aly!!!!
Thank you for this videos, so helpful.
I’m a pale olive and totally agree. I’ve had brassy honey blonde and it just suite! I just dyed my hair strawberry blonde and it looks amazing
Great informational video as always Aly
Can't wait for the right blonde shade for warm olive skin!
The brassy, honey more bright yellow looks good.
Finally! Thank you 😊 💓
Remember Christina Milian in early 00's? This combo looked DIVINE on her somehow
I needed this video so much- it explains why I gravitate to the peachy/pink tones as a change to my usual icy platinum. Thanks, Aly. 😘
That colour on you picture suits you so well my goodness
Peach that is more towards pink is beautiful in pale olive skin. I use mostly rose gold for jewelry and I have several tops of that color🙂
ms. X , why thank you so much for your kind words, you’ve just made my day, lovely! Sending you the warmest of wishes from a wee happy Scottish lassie. 😘😊
I could never really figure out my tone I do feel like I have a bit of warmth but I also see olive because I look good in silver jewelry too…what do you think? And when I was trying to go blonde I had a lot of orange and brass and it looked terrible on my skin I looked sick
I have very pale olive skin and my hair is a dark cool red, and I think it looks great, it also makes my green eyes pop. Thanks for talking about pale olive skin, it's hard to find information about it.
This is what i need thank you als!
I think the olive tones esp pale olive tones are a minority in foundation because companies usually make their version of olive at medium or deeper skin.
Thank you for all your tips dear.
Thank u so much I struggle with this problem and now I know
Thank you for explaining this so clearly. It matches my experience as a paler olive, probably from being a hapa who never goes outside. I never understood before how colors could sometimes clashe or pick up ones’ skin tone, but now I do! And I agree that olive is actually maybe more cool, or commonly cool, than warm-even though on most color guides, they default as warm toned. That green will out :S
Omg i was looking for this video, you came to me like an Angel!!
Wow! I just realized this too! I have olive skin (i think) albeit pale... and the brassy looks so bad... but the strawberry blonde somehow works! Great info as always! 🥰🥰🥰
I love your brow color ❤
I'm going to go with an ashy blonde with like a very minimal amount of yellow. Thank you for helping me decide
So true! Thanks
I know it might not be something you would be interested in making... but a video about tattoos for bodytypes would be cool! Although it's a realm completely of it's own it's still connected to fashion. It's quite alternative though
Dear, I appreciate the work and the time you put for us. Just wanted to say I'm on your channel for years and you're a talented special person. Ive been thinking recently about little black dresses for every occasion. I hope you see this and mention in some video. Спасибо дорогая!
i’m light medium olive and light cool hair suited me beautifully.
Olive is very very difficult... I have suuuuper duuper green, light to medium skin (seriously, the closest match are fenty's 145 mixed with 290 and it's still not enough green).
There are also warm olives, cool ones and neutral ones. And that often changes with tan. It is very complicated to match it with other colours. It makes everything look orange and red and on the other end you look more green. But most pinks and reds looks great...
And with blond hair... I would say if your skin is warm (yellowish) olive: blond with little yellow tones is good but if there is even a little hint of redness it will look orange.
If you are cool (blueish) or neutral (balanced brown) olive: ashier tones are better.
But overall it is probably easier to have darker hair. You dont have to care so much about changes of warmness of your skin with tan...
Colors also reflect off of light skin so if your hair is in the cool red range, the reflection on your greenish skin will be a more neutral tone.
Last comment particularly interesting for me, because I'm light olive, and have been colouring my hair strawberry pinkish goldish blonde for the last month - and it is kind of lovely. I was surprised because I just suddenly decided to do it! X
Thank you! You confirm that paler ashy blonde looks way better than honey warm highlights on neutral olive skin. The bias is that all olive skin, like large number of latinas, should wear nothing blonde but the warm highlights but on me I look washed out with warm colors, it dulls my skin and doesn’t brighten my complexion
This is very helpful to me. Im filipino with pale olive skintone and greyish undertone contrary on most people here with warm undertone. I always seem to appear that I soak my body in water most of the time. Ash blond, grey and platinum blond seems to be the right fit for myself
Everybody is talking about cool/warm olive but at its baseline olive is neutral-- green is a mix of yellow and blue. Each person will have a different amount of both (which is deeper than the video could go into) and each individual must curate their look based on their unique ratio
Exactly. X
Makes sense why I was able to do the strawberry/coral pink even though I'm fair olive
Same here! 😅
Also, I love your boat neck top
I was considered warm because I dyed my hair black, I tan incredibly well, have dark eyes and brows (my natural hair is nowadays a mix of grey and brassy). All things considered, I was warned about going platinum and advised to go yellow/gold. Imagine the surprise when I went almost white and it worked perfectly. Then I did some research and it turned out I'm olive. Still hard to tell whether it's bright or dark olive because of my tan that stays on my skin the whole year after summer, but even with dark skin the platinum blonde/white looks great thanks to that olive feel.
Heyyy could you pleeease do a video for darker olive skin about blonde hair, btw LOVE your content🔥
This was informative. I’m not olive but I liked the video because the good expaniation
Your videos are getting to spot on here. First the chin one, then this. It’s scaring me a bit 😂 as a notorious green ghost I know understand why I always gravitated towards strawberry blonde. But I haven’t had a hairdresser actually do it. It always ends up the same blond that looks brassy fast.
I have olive skin and my stylist is pushing golden Carmel blonde. I really think an ashy tone will look way better.
I’m Albino, I dye my hair dark all the time. It took me my whole life to realize I’m pale olive lol. It changed my life when I started dying my hair espresso or a cool neutral brown at the roots, then if I want to warm it up, I add some warmer brown to my ends. I have to have some coolness to me otherwise I look blah, drab, and super yellow looking. I did this with the photo for my icon on here. I recommend doing that for pale olive peeps especially with blue eyes warmness a bit on the ends redirects people to your eyes bc they pop, your skin pops from the cool, neutral root color. Great info Aly! 😊
THANK YOU!!! Exactly!!! I look horrible with the wrong blonde and amazing with the correct one. Now I need my hairdresser to understand that NOT yellow or orange undertones for me PLEASEEEE!!!
I'm warm with an orange undertone. I have rosiness in my skin and can use a yellow or pink toned foundation. I can do silver or gold etc..
I only recently realised I have an olive tone to my skin. I look amazing with a hint of pink in my light blonde hair but it's hard to find the right colour so I usually stick with an ash.
I wonder if cool olive skin would work with green hair (different shades). Green is the easiest colour to screw, home-dyed it often looks terrible, but if done properly it can look amazing (like on Lorna Dane, very pretty imo). So I wonder whether olive and green are not going to undermine each other.
I have light olive skin and I have to be careful when I'm going lighter. I love strawberry blondes and coppers work well too
Hi aly can you please do a video on what hair colors suit people with olive skin tone? I’m thinking about going red but I’m not sure if ill look good with it. Also can you please explain warm vs cooler olive tones? Thank you your videos are so helpful I’ve learnt a lot
Im a pale olive and I looked really ugly when my hair was blonde untill I bleached out to a pltinum blonde, the it looked GREAT! also pastel pink looks great on me
I miss your singing with Ken. Where can I find your work again.
Much love to you my dear.
Ali, could you make a video about what kind of metal looks good on fair olive skin? I'm personally super pale and olive, and I really don't like gold on myself, silver is better but it could also be because I prefer cool tones so I may just perceive it as better lol. Maybe Rose gold metal, or white gold?
I’d love to have your color Aly💕
Can you please please please make a video on the right clothing colors for olive skins? Thank you so much
Yesss please!!! This video was soo helpful!
Hi Aly :) I recently found I have pale-fair olive skin tone (I always thought I was neutral, my life was a lie 😑). Can you make videos about makeup, clothes and colour hair to this type?. I trust 100% in your analysis :) thanks it's a new perspective for me!
Can you make a video about the right blonde shade for peachy skin? 😊
I have some olive skintone but in makeup i look Great in warm stuff cause it counteract my greyness or ashyness
Wow this is for me! I have very pale skin, but it is very ashy, so it's very light olive skin and i always find it hard to relate to any blonde, i had to find the tone that truly suits my unique color
Love the video👍👏
I love your videos, you are very talented, please please make a video for older women 5o and up make ups do’s and don’t thank you
❤️Thanks
I love this. So I have been a lot of colors of blonde and recently branched out to brunette and hated it. So I did a color erase. Now that turned my hair red and orange with blonde yellow at the bottom and I LOVE IT with my skin tone! Wierd
This happened to me and my skin looks so much healthier, even the greys I have blend better. I was a really dark brown box dye and trying to get back to overall bleach but now love the orange/copper look with golden highlights, it looks epic!
You are SO right! I have fair olive and strawberry blonde looks good BUT brassy blonde looks horrible!
I think that the blonde person you used as a reference has beautiful blonde hair that suits her lol but thank you so much for the helpful info
“Olive skin tends to be on the cooler side” lololololol I’m fair olive and my skin is so damn warm that neutral colors look pink on me. It ain’t easy being green. 🤷🏻♀️
That actually might not mean you’re warm, green and red are opposite on the color wheel, which is why colors look extra pink on olive skin.
@@queenlanapepsicola2338 Actually, it kind of means, because there is pale olive with cool/neutral undertone and with warm/neutral. Me being the second one, I look absolutely hideous with pink undertones in my hair. :D
@@queenlanapepsicola2338 You’ve never heard of golden olive?!?!
I’m a natural dark blonde and I have pale olive skin- when you said avoid yellow/orange/brass I was like YASSSS. I hate when my highlights are not pale/white blonde. 😂
This is exactly where I landed.. an ashy light peach. It took me so many years of experimenting to figure it out.
Aly can you do a video for brown skin.
I would love to try color very soon.
Dear Aly, please do more videos on MEN body types! Surely I'm not the only one in your community to ask 😜 I understand that Kibbe hasn't done his system in depth for men as much as he did with women, but... we're interested in YOUR personal take on it!! 😍 Clothes for male types / bodytyping celebrities / anything else!
Yes!
+++
Yes, I'm interested too.
Your eyes look really awesome with your lighter hair and tanned skin. Are you wearing contact lenses to change the colour of your eyes or is it due to the change in skin/hair colour?
I notice personally that if I wear more solid black clothes/hair/eyeliner the yellow in my eyes shows through but otherwise they appear more greenish hazel. I know in my case it is more than likely the blue tones making the yellow stand out in comparison, but Aly's eyes appear to be a more light green colour in recent videos but more hazel in older videos sometimes almost a greyish dark blue.
I think sandy, muted and beige tones looks best on olive
U r the best 😍🤩
I'm light olive with natural strawberry blonde hair.. neat
can you please do a video about the right blondes for ASIAN skin tones!
There's no such thing as asian skin tone, it's either cool, warm, neutral og olive. Many asians have an olive skin tone, myself included
On time👌
I agreed
Omg, this is me I went blondish😅 it doesnt look that good to me, now I colored again in the shade golden chestnut...this strawberry blond now looks interesting
