- Gentleman you need to stop making these vest mistakes.
1. The last button on your vest should be unbuttoned, just like a suit jacket.
2. A vest shouldn't be too tight nor too loose, it should hug your torso. Either way a tailor can help you fix this.
3. Vest length. Your vest should be long enough to cover the waistband on the trousers you are wearing.

Thanks bro I have a job interview and I decide to wear a vest today. Now I know to leave the last button unbutton lol
you really don't need to. People only did it because King Edward VII was too fat for his clothes
@@night6724 I think it goes back to when men rode horses a lot so it was more comfortable but it does look better than having them all done up IMO
The last button unbottuned rule generally applies to english style waistcoats with 6 buttons, not the more continental/italian approach of having only 5 buttons.
Button for vest is an English thing. But it does help depending on your weight and body type. If you aren’t lean and have a bigger belly then hips do keep it unbutton.
Great videos. I’ve learned a lot from you and stepped up my wardrobe game. Thanks
Ah man thank you means alot
first is personal preference
How do I do the things on the back
have your girl do it ofc :)
I'd prefer to button the last button if your vest has 3 or less buttons.
can a vest ride up in the back while sitting or should it cover the shirt always
Cover the shirt in the back.
Cantiknya vest
So.....2-3 button style vests...leave buttoned...?
hi.. do you have any tips to not making my upper vest like folded when its buttoned? sry for my english
Take it to a tailor you might have too much fabric I'm the chest area
@@IAMMRMARTINEZThere is a space between the Vest and the trouser. What should i do. There the same size bit the Space is still there
@@redeye6481 the vest is too short then
@@IAMMRMARTINEZ Thank you very much. I have my graduation ceremony tomorrow.
how much over the waistband should the waistcoat be in length ?
Hard to say but as long as it's covered you are good to go. After that it's personal preference
can I wear the vest without the jacket?
Yes of course!
@@IAMMRMARTINEZ Even for wedding? Do u have ig so i can send u picture for your opinnion please
@dax3636 yes @iammrmartinez
@@IAMMRMARTINEZ i texted you
What's the point of the last button if it's to be left undone?
Personal taste really
It’s up to u bro make ur own rules if u think it looks better with the last button buttoned then Button it. The last button unbuttoned looks silly to me cuz it’s a vest not a blazer
Who says you have to lose the last button? This all started by someone whose belly was too big that they couldn't button the last button...so they started telling people not to button the last one as a "fashion trend". And sheep followed. Fix your weight issues instead. There's a reason why the manufacturer made buttons!...to be used!
That must be an American thing to leave the last button undone on the waistcoat.
It is a stupid holdover from when fat men couldn't close their waistcoat and didn't want to buy another one. I think it looks sloppy with the button undone.
I'm English and it's definitely not an American thing, it does date back but I also think it's become a dress etiquette thing and personally I think it looks a bit cooler.
okay but first teach yourself how to have better posture.
It's a shame that most men today have forgotten how to stand up straight. (Shoulders back, chest forward).
