- Welp, there's two 6-gallon air compressors to choose from at Harbor Freight. Here's a comparison of the two - in case you're considering getting one.
In case you couldn't tell from the video - one of them is quiet... very quiet. - Jak na to + styl
First off, great comparison video. Secondly, I want to tell you how much I appreciate your choice and usage of music in this. I can't even begin to express how frustrated I get when other videos either play obnoxious music the entire time, or switch back and forth between 80dB music and 60dB dialog. This was perfectly executed. Well done.
I really appreciate that. I’m not great with iMovie, but I try to pay attention to volume levels and will watch the video 5x before the final edit to make sure it’s not annoying or boring in any way. Thank you for the kind words. 🤘🇺🇸
Thanks for taking the time. For me, I’m not gonna be working in a library, so loud and proud for me
Thank you for watching! The quiet one is a game changer though.
You must be lucky enough to not have neighbors either, that or they're saints. Most my neighbors are ok but we have some shady folks moving in and out from time to time on my street. I also work nights so I'm often working in my garage at night in my spare time. Point is the less anyone knows what I'm doing, better for me. Ultra Quiet is the one for me.
Oh man, that's a huge difference in volume level! I've been using a generic HF 3 gallon compressor for my airbrush, and it's just too loud. I'd rather not fire up my 40 gal one for the airbrush either. This looks like the Goldilocks model! I can sacrifice the performance. Thanks for the great comparison!
Yeah thank you for watching! Quiet one wins all day.
Hey man I can’t thank you enough for your videos. Very in depth and helpful. 🍻
Thanks for the wonderful video! I work in my garage in my townhouse so noise matters and I don't do anything super heavy duty so I'm fine waiting a minute for the tank to come back up to pressure. My small 3 gal 100 psi HF tank just died after about 6 years of use so I think I'll upgrade to the ultra quiet.
Thank you so much for following up based on my comment in your previous review video you did for this new ultra-quiet 6 gallon compressor!
You know, I try to listen to my viewers and give them what they’d like to see. I hope this was helpful. Thank you for the suggestion! 🤘🏻🇺🇸
Definitely have to go with the quieter one. Cause they both still perform well and even though the Ultra Quite cycles in less time, the noise reduction makes up for that. My opinion , thanks for the comparison. 👍🏽👍🏽
Agreed. The quiet machine is such a breath of fresh air! Thank you for watching and commenting 🤘🇺🇸
2 gallon ultra quiet + 7 gallon aux tank. Depends on your application. I like being able to carry 7 gallons at only 10 lbs for small jobs like filling tires
I’ve had a few aux/expansion tanks as well. Super handy to have.
Excellent video!
I am going to pick up the 175 psi now. i will use it in my work van used for mobile auto repair. It will run off of my 2300 watt converter. My Craftsman 6 gal pancake compressor motor just burned out 2 days ago after 15 years. I hope this has the same reliability.
It’s an excellent machine. If you haven’t gotten it already - check out my reviews on the 150PSI ultra quiet machine. It’s a game changer. So quiet.
@@jimmysgarage9068 I appreciate it. I bought it and installed it in my van earlier. It absolutely fills quicker than my old one. It is loud if I am in the van, but outside of the van, it's not so bad.
@@marcsmith3881 Performance wise it’s fantastic. Congrats on your new machine!
Quiet, definitely the quiet one
Agreed. I already sold the other one. Quiet for the win.
Is these specs good for home paint job or personal car or just to blow the water or dust while detailing a car
Another great review. I am getting close to swapping my CAT 8gal for this one. Can you provide the dimensions of the ultraquiet compressor? For some reason harbor frieght does not list this info. First time i've seen a place not give the width length and height of a compressor.
You know, it’s the same width as the other Fortress, just a little taller - maybe 4 inches or so. The boxy top makes the ultra quite larger overall, as well as about 8 pounds heavier. I hope that helps. It is funny that the dimensions aren’t listed.
Hey man so I went ahead and bought this thing and although it seems to be accurate as far as db it is somehow louder than my cat compressor at the same db.. I'm wondering if it makes noise at different pitches that are more noticeable. I was wondering if lowering the max psi on the unit would lower the overall sound? @@jimmysgarage9068
What is the duty cycle?
Doesn’t say in the manual. Haven’t had any issues running both for extended periods.
It’s terrible how for the price of these you get the compressed air you need for only seconds
For some people - yes. I use mine all the time. I blew up tons of pool toys this past weekend, evened out our vehicle’s tires and used it to power my cutoff tool. They aren’t cheap, but boy are they handy.
