What I love about Mazda is the transition from quiet and pleasant driving to that excellent whine out of their engines when you floor it..😩😩
The “plastic cover” that protects the engine, is easily lifted up and has a hook to attach to the underside of the hood.
The “bongs” don’t occur if you put your seatbelt on.
The responsiveness of the cross traffic(early/late) etc is all changeable in settings. Chances are a reviewer changed it lol

I heard that a new Mazda 6 sedan is being developed with this platform and engine.
If I'm not mistaken, the startup bongs will be silent if you buckle in before turning it on.
Like your video formats, however would be nice to see night drives of the cars you review. Get an idea for lights / visibility during nighttime. Other than that the videos are great!
I like how the transmission upshifts tomorrow. I wish it didn't upshift at all since it's Monday tomorrow.
Love these types of videos! What would make it even better imho would be using a racebox pro to get a real world 0-60 times. Not needed but would make the video even better imo.
My wife and I just got the exact car yesterday. Love it for sure. He had two CX 5s before this one. They are great cars. Mazda is so underrated. I hate plain the badge on the side as you alluded to. I have been looking for someone who has made a chrome accessory for it. If any one else has found something please share!

A very Good Interactive driving review, not done at all in other more superifical car reviews. I'd love to see this with the Turbo S !!. You are remiss in one regard, The Mazda compares to the Acura MDX as well. The MDX may have some more features like massaging seats, air suspension , and an interior light Show selector, notwitstanding the 25 MDX has some new changes pertaining mostly to the new Touch Screen included to replace thier Touch Pad (I have a 22 MDX Advance), but a 2024 TYpe S MDX Advance is $75K ! Compared the CX-90, Premium Plus S at $61K - that means aside from personal appeal of the looks - $14 K more for Massaging seats, a little more HP/Torque, a selectable interior lighting, Bembo brakes, a very good ELS Sound Syetem (19 Speakers - it is truly superaltive). But the Mazda rules with MPGs . The TYpe S MDX about 21 MPG average (that is exaggarated by 15% easily), vs the 23 for the Mazda Turbo S . I;m going to drive one for sure to consider as my MDX lese comes to end in August 2024.
Great review! I am interested if you played longer with the paddle shifters. I had less than 10 mins to drive one in sport and could not get the shifts to stay in the selected gears like the cx5 turbo does.
Why couldnt we get the cx60 instead of the cx70
Word on the street is the CX60 is a different model and would require more costs to certify it for North America. It would also be a diminishing return for them because ostensibly, the CX60 would directly compete with the CX5/50. I think they missed the mark here because the CX90 is essentially a minivan. It may very well be comfortable inside but it’s pretty unattractive, in my opinion. On the other hand, the CX60 is gorgeous.

Also, I am a producer/audio engineer going on about 14 years or so now since starting. I wondered if there is an interesting to way to make a mix that tests different genres perhaps specifically for showcasing the sound systems in cars. I can make quite literally anything, royalty free, and i would say in my current state alot of my work is just shy of professional mainstream quality.
The chimes is because IIHS says cars need more chimes 🙄
Mazda needs to refresh it's logo, I feel they are underrated despite being so good at combining price, performance (dynamics) and finish. All without being as generic as other Japanese brands. Making an inline turbo 6, so they could double wishbone suspensión up front? That's putting dynamics ahead of being just another box with some nice leather. I hope they can build on that inline 6 and the platform. Imagine straight 6 inline coupe/sedan with 400-450hp and RWD.
They just filed for a new logo design.
Using the same trick, they'll add two more cupholders to the Miata and call it MX-50.

Hey man, been watching you and thetopher for years now, love the videos! What car would you recommend to a new college student looking for something fun, reliable, and manual for 10-15k? I’m tempted to follow your steps and go is300, but they’re of course very hard to find with the 5 speed. I was thinking maybe an 8th/9th gen Si, but rwd would be more fun. Too bad all the 370s/G37s I find are clapped to hell, lol. Keep up the awesome work!
Biased, but I'd buy the cleanest/newest manual Mazda 6 you can find. Mine was bulletproof.
Why would you want to "heat and cool" your seat at the same time?
It's really heat and ventiliated, and on cars that allow it, it's a great feeling. Warm, but not sweaty.

The front is great, the rear is meh. A little odd considering that most of their line up’s designs are still *chefs kiss*
I still think this was a weird car segment to focus on considering that most layman people are likely to consider a Mazda 3 or slightly smaller SUV like the CX-5 (which is awesome). If the tech and platform trickles down to other models that’s fine, but that also means this car has to do really well and I’m a little skeptical. That said, I’m rooting for Mazda as a previous owner of an ND Miata.

To me it looks more like a Minivan than an SUV and the 6 cylinder is 'in-line' with that (ba dum tiss)
Remember that Mazda doesn’t have a minivan so this is supposed to be their cool, SUV replacement for it. Quite awhile ago now, they had an MPV, which was a minivan that sort of resembled an SUV. It had the four doors, the AWD and people liked it. That morphed into the CX9, which was eclipsed by the CX90. Now, instead of a minivan that resembles an SUV, they have an SUV that sort of resembles a minivan.

Petrol PHEV in EU is crap, Diesel is magic for CX-60. Went with diesel and it's fun to drive
