Mariah's success was a BEASTT in the 90s!!!!
Vision of Love was her debut single!! Its perfect!!
She had a number one single for 11 consecutive years starting from 1990!
She deserves to be a diva for having written and coproduced all of her discography!!! 🍻 And she is a diva because people don't give her credit where it's due!
She is unbelievablely talented but she's a diva because she's been on a pedestal for three decades. In other words because she can be. I'm not hating on her, if people worshipped me like they do her I'd be a diva too
But she’s actually not a diva. The media loves to portrayed her as a diva so she plays along with them but we know she’s one of the sweetest celebrities in the industry.
MJ & Mariah Dominated The 90’s MJ Dominated His Whole Entire Career Tbh!🙌🏽👑🔥🔥🔥🌟(MJ’s music is timeless and expands across generations and MJ is very versatile the most versatile Music Artist tbh he’s done World Music,Pop,R&B,Hip Hop,Disco,Funk,Soul,Heavy Metal,Rock,Country,DubStep,Opera etc. he’s phenomenal and dominated the music industry from Childhood To Adulthood had his first Number 1 hit song as a child with “Ben” and sold over 100 Million copies before even having a solo career nobody will ever surpass this man he truly was/is a Savant True Genius He Truly The Greatest Music Artist Of All Time! THAT IS A FACT!!!! The King Of Music Forever! He Dominated For 5 Decades His Entire Career and Earth song is kinda uplifting more Powerful and sad which is rightfully so)
Rest in peace to MJ the greatest performer ever. Mariah continues to dominate and it's also due to her versatility. She is an incredible artist who is the most successful woman in chart history as well as the greatest female vocalist.
The vocal trinity, Madonna and Janet dominated the 90s.
This was a great reaction. You were feeling a lot of this. Mariah Carey, MJ, Madonna, Boys II Men, Celine Dion just dominated the decade.
Mariah is actually a very humble and genuine person. She’s very kind. So I think you’ve only been exposed to the media’s narrative and not her actual personality.
Ok, how were you exposed to her actual personality? (Seriously asking)
@@shakashinereacts by in depth research. Watching all of her interviews, how she interacts with her fans. Listening to her Audiobook. Listening to her songwriting. It’s not hard. Just takes a little less a judgement and more of an open mind.
Mariah Carey the queen of music and songwriting 🙌 the ultimate diva and vocalist
How when most of her hits are covers
@@sarahpagett9191 she has 19 #1s (more than anyone else in history) and only one was a cover that she didn't write herself thank you
Mariah owned the 90s.. she was #1 on the Hot 100 for 60 weeks or 12% of the entire decade.
I Googled it and the Hanson brothers are NOT dead. That scared me so much, I loved them when I was little.
However it was the Hansen family from Idaho Falls who died. Four generations, in a plane crash. That is devastating. R.I.P.
Thanks for leaving the comment. I did the exact same thing too when he said that. Sad to hear about the other family though. Damn!
I definitely think you should react to more of Mariah's music. She has such a diverse catalog ranging from pop, dance, hip hop, and r&b. She created the 'rap feature' in pop music with Puff Daddy when they did the Fantasy remix with O.D.B. She is really an artist that is worthy of your reaction😁
She didn't create it
@@naurking5388 she did not create it but she made it popular that era, a female vocalist collaborating with rappers was very unique that time... today, its very common
Mariah Carey sweep the 90s! She won artists of the 90s decade & only artists in history to have a #1 song every year for a whole decade. She went #1 every year from 1990 till the year 2000. Fun fact, she’s been #1 in 2020, 2021 & 2022 so she might be able to do it again.
Hey Lamb!
I think the song, All I Want For Christmas Is You hit the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time in 2019.
Celebrating its 25th Year Anniversary!!
The song was top 10 in 2017.
And since then did top again!
2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Making it number on 4 different & consecutive years!
😄😄
@@anthonyvillarias8829 yeah, but 2019 doesn’t count for the 2020s decade is what I meant ❤️
Is this because of the Christmas song?
@@ChokeslamToHell this decade? Yes 👍 but out if her 19 #1s only one is Christmas and it’s the only Christmas song to go #1 by an artist.
@@RegisRodriguez Yeah, I was just wondering if I had missed new Mariah material lol. She’s amazing, I remember her first album. MJ is my favorite, but Mariah is in my top 5. Her peak range actually only survived like 3-5 years because I think she shot her vocal chords, but she still had an incredible voice and re-invented herself repeatedly to stay relevant. She also survived the period where the media turned on her for a while, as it does with all stars (especially black). Much respect.
All three Hanson Brothers are still alive. They were just on the Masked Singer last year.
Right lmao not dead
And they’re dads to big families, as was in theirs…
Lmao Hanson are not only not dead but they’re all dads to big families as is done in their family, and they still do appearances every now and then but they’re so busy with their families back in the south
Elton’s 1997 Candle in the Wind was sung at Princess Diana’s funeral. They were very good friends. This version is the BEST SELLING SINGLE OF ALL TIMES: sold 33 million copies world wide wand was #1 in the US for 14 weeks.
Elton John is a musical legend!
Many fantastic Madonna hits weren't even mentioned here - Rain, Ray of Light, Secret, You'll See, Beautiful Stranger, Justify My Love, This Used to Be My Playground, I'll Remember
Go through the Madonna songs and see which one's you would like to react to of hers. She has so many songs
I recommend reacting to Mariah Carey’s Honey Mv and My All mv, in the same vid, they show off her versatility and you may like her r&b stuff:)
Hm did not realize that Mariah was not a "normal person". Weird comment. It's crazy how people can just sit and judge an artist they do not know. Mariah is one of the most humble and gracious individuals who takes the time out of her day to talk..interact with her fans..get to know the people who love her artistry. Many people say she is the nicest celebrity you'll meet. This weird notion that she is a diva is...again, weird. How can someone judge a person that they do not know personally? This constant ridicule and judgment is why Mariah plays up any type of grievances that people have against her. She's been ridiculed unfairly by the media and general public her entire career and it's insane.Take some time to recognize Mariah as the person she really is and also to recognize her artistry as the greatest female artist..female vocalist in history who writes her own music, co-produces and arranges her music as well. Michael and Mariah were the only artists to be given The Male and Female Artist Of Millennium title. She has the most # 1's of any solo artist in history(wrote all but one of them and has spent the most weeks at # 1 in music history) Just to name a few of the thousands and thousands of her accomplishments. Also, side note..a lot of people enjoyed Mariah's version of I'll Be There..so much, it went # 1. Check out her amazing work of music.
I agree, but I think every huge artist has a huge ego tho
Thisd band did not die in plane crash. Zac was in a motorcycle accident..they just disbanded
The only people that think Mariah’s diva side needs to “calm down” are people that don’t know her and take her diva antics seriously
Reaction videos are the best concept and you do them so well!! I agree that they bring awareness to people who would not otherwise listen to songs out of their element. 👍
You have a lot to learn about the great 90s artists. Different genres gets to shine in the 90s. Lots of variety of different music genres unlike today's music.
with cotton eye joe in grade 8 we had square dancing too and i am gonna be honest the song traumaties me cause all i can think about when whenever you have to touch someones hand during it, it was either too hot or too cold and clammy no in between
Zac Hanson had a motorcycle accident but wasn't seriously injured they are all still alive
Mariah diva side needs to calm down? Really? She’s always had the same personality. Michael Jackson was just as much a diva in his days.
Escape was a great word to describe Madonna lol
Some of these artists were straight up surprising you didn’t know of and a lot of those songs you don’t know because they were one hit wonders so you probably forgot lol
ENIGMA got some of top rhyme production especially for back then. Sad that not many people nowadays know about them.
BUT also shoutout to Araki for using Enigma's song in Jojo anime, SS5 Ending, that makes more people to discover how great Enigma is. They use [Modern Crusader] song.
loll I remember being 4 yrs old and goin tf OFF whenever Macarena would come on the radio like it's about to go down💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
It became popular due to it being played non stop in the clubs on ibiza in the 90's. Sp practically everyone on tge planet knows the song
Yes, the Hanson brothers met an untimely horrible death. It was truly grotesque what Marilyn Manson did to them with that chainsaw.
Come on man,Truly Madly Deeply is such an emotional song!!
The Backstreet Boys was a bigger group worldwide then NSYNC.
The early 90s were too much like disco to me. The mid to late 90s had the real 90s quintessential sound.
Hanson brothers are still very much alive!!!
React to Madonna! Like a Prayer is a great song to start with..
Please react to Madonna "Secret". It's a beautifil R&B song from the 90's. The video is beautiful too.
You should dive into each of them...even if just 1 or 2 songs from each...so many great artists that you need to explore more!
man..Eric Clapton I think you heard in "I Shot the Sheriff" in 70s. One of the premier guitar players of all time. Check out the band 'Cream' he was in.
i saw the sign was also the song stephanie sang in full house when she formed a girl group in like season 7
Queen Mariah 👑❤️
If memory serves me, Gangstas Paradise is sampled from Stevie Wonder's song PastTimes Paradise.
Haha I saw Snap supporting MC Hammer at Wembley :D
Hanson is still alive.
I love that Vogue video!❤
It appeared like you didn't know Bryan Adams. Definitely suggest checking him out. And also definitely Elton John
I can perhaps guess why you know some tracks more than others (the r&b, rap, maybe the big club hits) but the fact you know certain pop-rock tracks at all is interesting to me.
Youre on point about The Fugees. The Macarena was popular because every single fine beezy in the club was ddong that lil dance and everybody was looking....but bro..out of all of the artists you didnt know you definitely sleeping on Bruce Springsteen... Hes def huge youve prob heard his songs on movies or commercials. He was also on We Are The World killin i t with stevie wonder
Mariah Carey😍😍😍
Thanks for the video.
At one time in the video you "realized" that you grew up "a whole bunch of black music". That is totally normal. We all grow up to some kind of music (colour, style, age, group, etc). Being conscientious of the fact without resenting it for being "limited" is just a step in discovering that music is a bigger world than any one single human can wholly embrace.
After all, music is a "building" being constructed by all mankind.
Accepting that one doesn't have to like every music out there, not with arrogance but by being humbled by it, is a step in being a little less narcissistic and being free to change our mind later if life permits.
In my younger days, that was not an uncommon point of view, but unfortunately these days it seems that the trend is that everybody has to have the same tastes and ideas...
A note: you mentioned Killing Me Softly by the Fugees, but you should take the time to listen to the Roberta Flack version (1973) that really made that song known. Here is a link to check the studio version: czcams.com/video/k4A5XuMz_Tw/video.html (but there are also some live ones out there).
And no, Britney vs Christina (vs Jessica Simpson) and Backstreet Boys (BSB) vs NSYNC (vs 98 degrees) was a big thing lok
One Sweet Day I believe still has the record for staying at the #1 for the most weeks
You'll love the 2000's songs they focus on R&S
Lynard skynard died(3 members) in a plane crash. All members of hanson are still living
YOU DON’T KNOW BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. WOW
Weird that you don't know most of the biggest hit in the 90s
You say it’s hard to beat MJ, But when it comes to #1 hits and the most sales in the shortest amount of time, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson:
Mariah Carey had them all beat. You’ll learn. 😉
Please send source links.
@@shakashinereacts From farther down the page on that last link: Mariah had 14 number 1 hits in the 90s, followed by Janet Jackson with 6, Boys II Men with 5, Madonna - Whitney Houston - and Celine Dion each with 4.
@@PixelPro-4000 Thank you.
I just saw this.
@@shakashinereacts czcams.com/video/C_uxEwrQnvo/video.html
@@adnap Man, I see that CZcams deleted my comment with the actual link... CZcams does that all the time, and I don't know why.
There's a whole bunch of good bands that were big in the 90s. That were missing. Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains & my personal favorite SOUNDGARDEN 💜
Selena is missing too. Tupac, Snoop.
Because they didn't have a number one song. Far more talent on your list than most of this on. Definitely not Shaka's fault, popular music and music with integrity often aren't the same
They're not missing. This video is specifically about the most popular songs of each month of every year in the 90s. Although great artists, this video was dedicated to the MOST popular generated by a number of factors.
"Gangsta's Paradise" is Coolio but yes he did sample the chorus, beat and some lyrics from Stevie Wonder
Nah Hanson, they are still alive lol
Yea the Hanson thing, I was thinking about the Hansen family. They died in a plane crash. But I got them mixed up.
@@shakashinereacts i was like wait, did I miss something 😅
Lmao Hanson didn’t die in a plane crash. What?
My thought exactly lmao
Hanson brothers are still alive...
You gotta see Weird Al’s take on Gangsta Paradise! ( Amish Paradise)
Mariah ironically enough outsold Michael in the 90’s it was really her Hayday song of the decade and artists of the decade
Wind of change is about the hope for humanity after the Soviet union collapsed and the braking of the burlin wall and the music video is very touching especially at the end.
The MmmpBop sung by the Hanson brothers are not dead. lol
SS "that's most famous Celine Dion I song I know" give it two minutes..oh wait
Brandy’s got a great new album out!
I seriously doubt the original video is sanctioned by the record companies, so if it isn't blocked, you probably won't be either.
Just a couple comments:
Bruce Springsteen was huge in the 70s and 80s, kind of surprised you never heard of him.
"I Swear" was originally a country hit for John Michael Montgomery. The original is the best.
MMM BOP Hansens are not dead...
The video you are playing didn't get blocked lol
The only thing about ice ice baby is that it reminds me of Tone Loc. funky cold medina
The Hanson brothers are still alive.
Aerosmith been around since 1973’ IMO they haven’t got the recognition they deserve
I didn’t like that Mariah comment…
Lol no Hanson mmmm boop they are still live and we’ll still do music fyi the whole diva thing with Mariah is an she plays up , just like Whitney , Celine , Madonna , Arthea . Since people say they are divas when they put their foot down when something is not right . A lot of these artist they still put out music .
Queen Mariah 💖
I liked ice ice baby, but I prefer Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie which he sampled Ice Ice Baby from.
I can't go to A1A with out saying Beach front ave!! Or if someone says A1A..I have to say it!!👀💪❤❤❤
Nothing compares to u by Sinade connor, Was written by Prince. And some May not agree, But I think Prince's version was better that he sang with Rosie Gaines.
fugees covered the original from the 70s
Have you reacted to Aerosmith and Run -DMC collab in Walk This Way? The first great rock and rap video!!!! ❤
React to the new unreleased JC Chasez songs
had to bail..the late 90s were misrepresented bigtime
Please react to Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman- Bryan Adams.
long life black people
You’ve totally sussed out Vanilla. He actually used Queen/ David Bowie “Under Pressure “ without their consent. They sued the parachute pants right off him!
Queen / Bowie =1
Vanilla = 0
A better Bruce Springsteen song is Dancing In The The Dark. You should do a reaction to that song.
Mariah Carey , Queen of the 90’s ❤
I can agree with that
Yes.. wheres n sync?
man this is a pop countdown..you are missing all the real good songs and artists like Buck-eyed Cherry, Gin Blossoms, Van Gogh's Daughter, etc. I was on the west coast and these songs in your video were not on the playlist because they were rock stations. need to find a diff 90s recap.
Phil Collins ❤
Vanilla Ice best in my opinion. Ninja Rap, Secret of the Ooze
React to mbm LiSpin
Steve tyler lol
Not you killing off people 😂
Your channel is great. Good reaction. I subscribe. Please react to Monica Naranjo - Enamorada (English Version). She's amazing, one of the best female voices in the world. An incredible singer. Greetings from Spain. Link 😜👇

from your reaction pains me to say you have missed some great music man
Oh I know I have missed out, that’s why I love having this channel to learn more everyday! 🙌
You need to go down the Madonna rabbit hole. The Queen of Pop- best selling female artist of all times, sorry Mariah, Celine, Rihanna and Barbra Streisand.
Mariah is the Queen
Don’t sleep on Madonna!
I hated the song barbie girl back then and I still hate it. It's 1 of the dumbest songs i've ever heard in my life. I don't know how that song became hit.
I never liked ice ice baby either. If I'm honest I actually prefer the original`(Under Pressure`) by Queen. I'm not even a big Queen fan! Sorry Vanilla Slice!
