    I 100% agree...this is a fantastic unit. I have a similar unit as yours...one of the older units with the fixed bench press. The newer ones have some nice new enhancements, like the iso-lateral option and the detached bench, but I still love this generation. Very safe...and allows me to work out alone, which works perfectly for me.
    I like the adaptations you made with the straps to perform other exercises. One other to consider is assisted pullups. I have a solid lat pulldown bar and I place that on the hooks at the top of the tower. I then place a chain from the top cable and attach a metal handle to it at the bottom. I then place my counter-balance weights on that cable. To perform the pullup, just press down on the metal handle with your foot and pull yourself up to the lat pulldown bar. It may seem to be a little unstable the first time you use it, however, after a couple pullups you will develop a motion to avoid swinging or hitting the tower.
    Another adaptation is to do isolated bent-over rows specifically using elbows. I lower the bench down to about a 30 degree angle and remove the safety bar to lower the bench press bar down flat to the tower. Then, attach metal handles to 2 straps you would place just at or above each of your elbows. Then place the metal handle on the bench press bar. Then, pull up with your elbows. Very good upper back exercise.

      @@Radio1399 After not being able to find a leg press attachment or having a Powertec dealer nearby, I decided to see if there was something I could do as a hack. What to do is lay your bench flat as if doing bench press and insert pin at top level for the press bar. I then inserted the bicep curl bar on top of the pin, but under the press bar to elevate the bar higher. I then lay on the bench and put my feel up to the bar and press the weight as if I was doing shoulder press or bench press from a laying position. Instead of using the bicep curl bar, I may have something made this summer that will fit tighter. Sorry to hear you sold your Powertec unit...if I sell mine its only because I bought the newer unit with isolateral movements.

    I have one and i couldn't agree more, best home gym on the market. Bought mine for 375 a few yrs back on CL too with a bunch of attachments. I'm about to sell it to my bro for 275 and I'm going to get the new model. The bench on the new model is a full bench not just a partial (it can be used independently of the rest of the machine) and slides out a lot easier. Also the new model has the lower cable attachment built in. It's still a great machine and the new one is 1200 bucks with no attachment so if you can find the older one its still worth it. It's not an alpha machine, in other words you wont get to Arnold levels of muscle with this alone, but its damn good. Compact, all the major exercises, safe cause you can max out without killing yourself, whats not to love. Great vid.

    This is exactly czcams.com/users/postUgkxUHHotQRjIQnfuxEeVotlkHVYWH0DXZoS what I needed to get some exercise while I'm stuck at my desk all day. It's just the right size. Only downsides are that the right oeddale unscrews itself while I use it and increasing the tension causes it to squeak while in use. Both are minor issues that aren't that important to me. So I give it 5 stars.

    I was thinking about having a low pulley attachment made but it looks like that one you have is factory? I purchased mine secondhand as well and it came with a straight bar that connects across the handles that can be used for squats. I’ve been in a walking boot the last few months and this machine has helped me do a lot of movements I wouldn’t otherwise be able to do with one leg. Great video, thanks!

      That’s what’s up. I love that your still training even with a boot.

    My neighbor gave me a similar model for free with weights and attachements. He was moving and wanted it gone asap. It is an amazing piece of equipment.

    Thanks man! Nice video. What straps are those for the simulated cable crossover? Do you feel the same burn/pump as a real cable crossover -- or at least close enough?

    • @Radio1399
      @Radio1399  Před 5 lety

      BigEarlPearl1 thanks for watching. It’s not the same burn but the pump is pretty close. It’s definitely a good variation for the garage. I’m not sure what the straps are called.

    Great price. Make a video on how you negotiated for less and also what you do for shoulder rehab. I dislocated mine last month on 3-25. I have an MRI scheduled May 6th and it’s still messed up.
    Also I am a new subscriber!!!

    I love the video. I do feel that you should “NEVER” shoulder press behind the neck. I know so many people that get shoulder problems from that movement

    • @Radio1399
      @Radio1399  Před 3 lety

      Thanks man I appreciate it. I believe behind the neck pressing isn’t for everyone but for those that have the flexibility it’s an option. But you have to have the mobility and going heavy isn’t recommended.

      Radio 1399 I’ll see what kind of deals I can get. I don’t mind buying new. I don’t know if I’ll get a smoking deal like you, though.
