I remembered when i was younger and after this movie came out.......there was a big surge of people wanting to join the marching band and primarily for the snare drum
Something I always noticed was: Sean’s drum sounded lower cause he’s older and more experienced while Devon’s was higher to represent he’s still “green” or new.
Part of this movie was filmed at my old High School, and that would be Howard High School. Our school colors were Blue An Gold, the mascot was the Ram.
That was Morris Brown College 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ thats a Real School. Southern State was only featured in the second drumline movie because Morris Brown lost their Accreditation.
My question is if Devon couldn't read music at this point, how did he manage to learn the song for this game and not be prepared to do the same by the next one. Edit: I get learning through visual or audio style, I'm just surprised he didn't prepare for it the next time before he got demoted to P4
He learned the songs by listening and practicing. He could play the halftime cadence because Sean had just written then and Devin didn't have a chance to see anyone else play it.

To make the long story short I did bad on percussion, my lips were to small for trombone and baritone and I did great on Tuba lol thanks to this movie I loved band since 6th grade all the way to 12th grade in high school
