Well if they really did have any doubt they could always take a test. I'm pretty sure that it is their kid because genetics are crazy. There's been a case where two white couples had a black child. They took a test and it was their biological child. They did an ancestry search and it turns out one of the couples had a black family member. That's genetics for ya.

Sure, parents should step in, boost their child's confident and all that jazz but they aren't psychologists. A lot of the time, it feels right to just ingore the issue, not bring it up in hopes that it won't affect their child.

Just one of the annoying things about being in a biracial family especially a black and white one, is that we don't look like a family unless all 4 of us are together, however, even then people still question if we are a family. Just recently, my parents, sister, and I were in line at a bagel shop in Northern Arizona, when we got to the cashier, he said, "so you guys are buying three bagels and your friend's over there" that friend being my white mother who was still choosing her bagel, we didn't correct him because we are used to it and it's funny to us now, but good thing my mom didn't hear him lol. She went off on a young lady once when my sister and I were 5 and 6 also waiting in line with her but at a grocery store and the cashier asked if we three were together...there was no one else in line but us three lol. I remember as early as 1st grade, when my mom would pick me up from school kids would ask me if I was adopted. I had a lot of identity problems growing up, am I black? am I white? I kind of had to figure these questions out on my own. We live in a society where you are forced to be one or the other. Anyway I could talk about this for days, but I feel I have typed to much, I apologies. These multicultural videos really do hit home for me, and I hope these parents can understand that there kids might also struggle with their own identities.

Joshua I absolutely agree! I've always had identity issues trying to identify myself as one or the other. Plus, when my extended family gets together they always try to treat me as if I'm part of their race (sometimes they'll talk trash about the other one). I honestly could rant about this forever too, but I'm so glad you commented this! I love it when multiracial people can talk about the same issues we face as a "racial group", even though we look nothing alike.

My father is African American and my mother is Euro- Asian while my Husband is Mexican. You can imagine our children are very blended. I was once at a water park with my family and it was crowded at the ticket booth so naturally I was keeping them very close. Suddenly I look down and my son is not beside me any longer.. I panic then see that one of the park staff is carrying him off. Immediately I run after him and say "Excuse me, where are you going?!!!" He doesn't stop but says "I'm just taking this kid to the 'Lost and Found center.'" Naturally mind mind is so confused and I try to grab my son back (who was all to happy to be carried off by a stranger smh) But he blocks me and starts to tell me "it's fine mam-" and I yell at him "Put my child down you psycho!" He stops walking then and looks at me with serious distrust and that's when it hits me that he took my son from my side because he saw a "white kid" standing in a "crowd" of brown people and thought he was lost. So of course the psycho staff guy asks "This is your kid?" with so much doubt It was really hard not to get angry and start screaming. Then my husband catches up (he is a bit paler than I) with our other "white" kids and demands to know what the hell is going on. The staff guy finally puts down my son and "apologizes" by saying "He was wondering off and I didn't see him with a family". I may have lost my @#$@# after that because I know for a fact my son was next to me and said something like "if I EVER see YOU touch another kid I will MACE you." He actually tried to have us kicked out of the park after that and told his boss that we threatened him. When I explained what happened they apologized and refunded our tickets and sent psycho staff guy home.

Sometimes I find it cool to see videos like this since because my family has always been mixed, including myself I'm White/Latina Mix - but I didnz realised in till I got into my middle school years that being mixed was apparently rare/not common and not accepted. My family isn't racist and has always been open to biracial relationships, on my mom's side I have cousins who are black/white mixed, white/asian mix and on my dads side I have a lot of Black/Latino mixed cousins. I was raised growing up that you love who you love it doesn't matter who they are, what they look like or where they come from. And it's such a sad reality knowing that's not the case for many people. But I firmly believe it's couples/family's like these that will break down that barrier and help biracial relationships and families becomes more accepted and not be such an abstract concept.

As I don’t care because I will always get hated on so why not enjoy my life while I still can and stop worrying about other people. It’s crazy even in Mexico. Mexico is just as racist as u don’t see it because they see u with dollars so of course they smile in your face. Now how I see it it’s different because I have a Mexican husband now. Okay, the last couple- the youngest actually looks like the dad in the face and the oldest looks more like the mom. Very nice blended kids. I am an Asian married to a white man and we have 2 beautiful blended kids of our own. Race is not an issue in our marriage. I sometimes forget we are from different races (ha ha!) until I see films like this.

It is funny about middle eastern people. My husband's parents are very light skinned. People think my MIL is my mom (I am Irish American). My husband is very dark skinned. He looks typical Yemeni. 2 of his sisters and 1 of his brothers are very light skinned and 3 are darker like my husband.
My BIL's kids almost look African american but their mom is very light skinned like our MIL.
My kids are Irabs... Irish Arabs. 4/5 look like tanned Europeans with my youngest daughter with curly brown hair and my little sweetie middle child looks so Yemeni but has light golden brown eyes.

Same with my situation. I notice whatever race u date those races group will stare… When I was with white first I got stares from whites and blacks mostly. Now my husband is Mexican, but light skin and I’m brown but now I get more stares from Mexicans now than anything. One group of Mexican mens tap his friends on construction and pointed to us and I laughed and did the same and said look papi… My husband don’t care he cold hard, as me I either stare back long and hard or pretend to ignore them because people care so much about people they don’t know about lol….It even more funny when u can see who racist when I’m with my husband you see the mean stares or disappointment in women eyes and men sometimes. As I don’t care because I will always get hated on so why not enjoy my life while I still can and stop worrying about other people. It’s crazy even in Mexico. I remember it was just me in my bf at the time and we get stares, but not as much now the other time when we are with my husband whole family that’s when I got stares from cashiers darker Mexicans and just looked at me and I’m like this is just ridiculous lol 😂 i tell Americans. Mexico is just as racist as u don’t see it because they see u with dollars so of course they smile in your face. Now how I see it it’s different because I have a Mexican husband now. Don’t get me started about the gated community he live in and we walk around like they shock they never seen a brown foreigner in side. Which is true..

It's so funny to see people stare at us, especially because they get really confused when they can't pinpoint where we are from (we are both quite accent neutral, and communicate in English). I think I must have been mistaken for a fling or an escort realatively often tbh, but we just laugh it off xD

My point is is because young children form ideas about themselves and other people early in life is important to help the kids to feel good about the uniqueness of their family and help them learn that differences are fine, that everyone's family is unique.
