    The Crosman 362 Multi-Pump Pellet Rifle is the next step in the evolution of Crosman's classic and reliable variable-pump platform. The single-shot, bolt-action air rifle provides velocities up to 850 FPS (with alloy pellets) to deliver the necessary speed and accuracy for small-game hunting, pest control, or plinking.
    The fact that this air rifle includes a multi-pump feature means that the shooter is capable of changing the power level of this airgun based on the number of times it is pumped, up to the manufacturer's maximum recommended number of pumps. With this ability, shooters are able to vary the power of each shot to suit a specific need based on the type of shooting they want to do.
    The Crosman 362 Multi-Pump uses a fixed blade front sight and an adjustable rear peep sight that can convert to an open sight, and both of these combine to result in improved shot accuracy. The synthetic all-weather stock on this air rifle includes texturing for an improved hold and easier pumping, and it features a textured grip for increased stability, in addition to a ridged rubber buttpad for greater control.
    To get a capable and compact air rifle with the ability to adjust the power to meet a range of needs from hunting convenience to quick pest control or easy backyard plinking, buy a Crosman 362 Multi-Pump Pellet Rifle from Pyramyd Air now.

    I like mine. Immediately took off the plastic breech and put on a steel breech, Bug Buster scope, TKO ldc. It had no issues taking out the raccoon trying to get in my chimney. Does not seem pellet picky at least with Jsb's. It likes the 14.3 CPHPs also. Kinda klanky to pump due to plastic smaking. But is very quiet to shoot, with the ldc on it. Not bad for a 100.00 gun.

    It is a 8 pump max. I got 362 it shoots great out to 25 yards. You have to shoot the peep by focus hard on the front sight and haveing the same cheek weld every time . Over time you will center your eye without thinking about it..thanks the the chrony numbers they got some power .

    Try focusing on the front post and not the peep sight. The peep is designed to limit light around the edges so you center the post where it and your target are most visible. So a narrow blade will give a better sight picture.

    • @dscinaz
      @dscinaz Před rokem

      I don't know anything about limiting light, but when you look through the peep, your eye automatically centers in the opening and all you have to do is put the front blade on the target, while ignoring the peep entirely. FWIW, check the sights on all U.S. military rifles from WWII forward.

    My 362 shot very low, so that I had to adjust the rear sight too high which exposed the adjustment hole. That gave me two holes in the sight picture, making it impossible to aim. So I made a new blade from a piece of Maple wood and made the peep hole smaller and higher. It works much better.
    Also, the elevation screw stripped out of the plastic base. So I drilled the hole out and installed a threaded brass insert and a machine screw. Now it works perfectly.

    Although I have a very nice Gamo Whisper in .22, if I was going to replace it I'd get something like this. I once had an RWS in .22, and the recoil was so vicious I sold it. The Gamo does have a nitro piston which tames that quite bit. I had a Sheridan .20 years ago and wish I had kept it :) Wood stock, etc. With the more powerful break barrel guns the cocking effort is quite heavy. For target shooting, 5-6 pumps on one of these is plenty. A 4x30 scope helps you get the most out any air rifle.

  • @davemacfadyen3174
    @davemacfadyen3174 Před 2 lety +4

    Sir, first off, I enjoyed your review; thank you. When I got my first peep sight, I was told that you are not supposed to consciously "try" to center the front sight in the rear peep; just be sure you are actually looking through the rear peep, then ignore it, and your eye will naturally center the front sight in the peep; then just put the front sight on what you want to hit; you are not supposed to used a rear peep in the same way you would use the rear sight on an open-sighted rifle. I had an old Army buddy who hated peep sights, but when he told me why, it turned out that he didn't like them because he was trying to use them the same way he used open sights on his old Winchester 190 .22LR autoloader. Just my 2 cents; peace.
    P.S. On my Crosman 1322 shoulder-stocked carbine, I actually opened up the peep sight to 0.093", and since it's so close to my eye, it works more like a ghost-ring peep; I find it easy to hit stuff out to 25 yards with it.

      Yes, Sir, but sadly, these days, I see too many people who were never shown the proper use of peep sights; I think there is too much of a tendency for new shooters to go straight to a scope (especially with rifles) instead of learning proper marksmanship with iron sights. :)

  • @mrhalfstep
    @mrhalfstep Před 2 lety +1

    When using a peep sight, it isn't important to see the ring. You actually don't want to see the ring. Your eyeball should be close enough to it that you feel like your peeking in on someone. The sight picture that you see should look like your target is sitting atop a post out in the field. I like to explain it as looking through a knothole in a fence at a cut off fence post in your neighbor's backyard. Your brain will center your eyeball in the knothole just because that's how a normally functioning brain and eyeball work together, the brain is trying to give the eyeball the maximum amount of light and that happens when the eyeball is centered in the hole, so that's where the brain puts your eyeball every time, if you just let it, and that alignment is locked in, naturally. Now you just have to move the gun around until the target looks like it is on top of the post. The military uses this type sight because it doesn't require lining up a rear section with a forward section and the a target downrange.Two things to line up are easier than three. Many people that haven't been trained try to use the sight like a typical notch and blade and it just isn't the correct way to do it. You will get poor results just like you did. Please try again using this method, even if you don't put it into a video. I think you will find it's better than conventional sights. Also, I believe I've read that leaving both eyes open also makes the target easier to acquire, again because of the way the brain works. Peace.

I find my Sheridan is consistent and accurate but I have a 5mm fully skirted pellets. I never chrono the shots. I never had to because I'm so used to pumping 9 pumps on every shot. Mine loves 5 pumps and and can group if I do my part around 1in. at 40 yards. Sighted in for near zero at 8 yards and far zero is 35 yards with 14.3gr CPHPs. Many many cottontails, fox squirrels a few woodchucks and 2 raccoons had made their instant demise. I adjusted the trigger sear, so trigger weight is right at 2lbs and a mildotted Centerpoint scope do very well. I ordered a 2nd one to put a .177 barrel on even though Im not a .177 fan. Put a bright orange paint on the front sight and it’s gonna make a huge difference in shot placement and where your rear sight is adjusted I had the same problem I made the front sight more visible and I had to readjust my rear sight all over again now mine is only o r notch to the left and it shoots a 1 inch group at 25 yards and I wear glasses and have 57 year old eyes but I’ve shot iron sights since I was 8 so maybe that might be the reason I’m getting those results

    Nice work, that power is more than enough to kill a rabbit at 30 yards, here in UK shooting a 18gr pellet at 700 fps is considered a firearm so we have to shoot at lower velocity and still able to take a rabbit out humanely. Nice video mate 👍

    • @michaelwthalman
      @michaelwthalman Před 2 lety +1

      That would not be fun being limited to 12fpe without a FAC. However, it shows that especially with the springer/air-piston type guns that usually are hold sensitive due to recoil, that 12fpe airguns do just fine for rabbits/squirrels out to a pretty good distance. Obviously pumpers and pcp airguns don't have to deal with recoil. I wish we could easily adjust our U.S. air piston guns. Some of mine are shooting near 30fpe. Any mistake in hold, it will be a likely miss. I would gladly turn mine down to 12-16fpe to be more hold friendly. That's why I like the pumpers, this C362 I can plink with 5 pumps and hunt rabbits and squirrels with 5 pumps out to about 40 yards. Add a few more pumps if Im shooting further. I just have to memorize what mildot to use.

    They pretty much just put the standard 1377 rear sight on this gun. I rather like it on my 1377 and 1322. I can headshot rats at 10 yards with either one of those, but it's a bit lacking on the 362. The peep works well enough as a ghost ring style sight, but it's too large to work as a peep. My head wants to rest in the same spot on the gun regardless where the peep is because it can be seen through even when you're not centered on it. So minor tweaking of the rear site doesn't alter my point of impact much unless I pick my head up slightly and force center. The open sight is way too close to my eye to be of much use, which is a shame because that's my preference.
    I suppose I could try cutting a new rear site and putting a smaller peep on it, or put some padding on the riser, but in all likelihood I'll have to go to a scope.
