His voice isn’t what it was back in the 60s (although in 2003 I don’t know that was a problem the way it is now). But I think you’re more reacting to the fact that the Beatles couldn’t rock out the way he does with this band. So it’s a different sound. But the vocals are most definitely vintage Paul McCartney. And I’m a musician, so you can just forgo the argument and take that as gospel.
