Bleach's Visordes are one of the most controversial groups in all of anime. In this video, I break down the plan to save the vizordes. Who are they? What made them good? Instead of Bankai, I would lean more towards a Resurrection like Tousen. After all, Hollowification is what makes the Vizards interesting in the first place.

Imo what could happen is a scene with Lisa saying something like "the other vizards are too prideful for using this power here, but I don't care" and then INSTEAD of bankai, she releases a resurreccion not unlike tousen

I KNOW!!!!SHINJI IS MY BOY. The slander is 75% understandable. For all those who hate kubo..the one thing they have right is the wasted potential...BECAUSE kubo can give us a GOATED characters and the back up is handled unjustly. I think some of it HAS to be the editor at the time..kubo wanted to kill off/end characters but because of FUCKING POLLS they make poor excuse characters like hitsuguya and then fuck up those who like shinji a joke among haters.
I think you hit the nail on the head on Kubo stopped caring about them and they were treated as an after thought. They were brushed to the side while the story focused on other characters in the final arc. Personally, I think they should have been the ones to defeat Gerard. One thing I appreciated about the final fights in the Royal Palace is Kubo utilized characters he hadn't used before, such as Nemu and Nanao helping their respective captains beat one of the elite guard. To me the logical sense would have been to give the vizards Gerard. That is when we could have seen them shine.
Reveal the Shinji and others developed their own individual hollow abilities along with strengthening basic hollow abilities. Have Rose combine Kido with a Cero or Kensei use a hollow ability to buff up his bankai to heighten up the internal damage. Reveal Shinji learned to use Resurreccion like Tosen had, only it is more stabilized and humaoid. There were ways to have them be the powerhouses in the final fight. Byakyua, Hitsugaya, and Kenpachi could have just helped Ichigo fight Yhwach to give them one last chance to shine. Or early we could have had Shinji lead 3 or 4 Stern Ritter away into a Kido barrier that keeps everyone out, then have him use his bank an for the first time there to have the SR fight against each other and have Shinji backstab the winner, because they think Shinji is their ally and have their guard down. There were ways to have the vizards all get moments and be a valuable part of the war effort without taking away from other characters.

Shinji and Hiyori were somewhat good placed in the novels. When Shinji heard only a shred of Ichigo potentially being in trouble, he wanted to hear more
Yup, they got worfed. Even one of Shinji's most badass deadly moments was left to the imagination in CFYOW. Need more attention. Rose's maniacal bloodthirstiness in the TYBW makes one wonder if he was involved in the past Quincy wipe out attempts. Oh, and my favorite is Lisa. Fierce stoic warrior who is also openly honest about her perverted habits and manages to ironically still be flustered from time to time.

Thanks for giving Hachi a shout-out! He's not only the only Vizord to take down an Espada, he's had a century to experiment with designing Hollow-ified Kido before fighting the Quincy army. He should have had the opportunity to use it.

This is a very good critique of how the Vizards were presented narratively. I can agree that their impact on the story does indicate that Kubo hasn’t given them the development they need etc.
I hate the slander...but unfortunately...Flame of rebirth is such a solid and consistent and is my NO.1 FAVORITE bleachTuber. That 02% of slander is okay with me

I for sure thought all the characters that had hollow-like reiatsu (Arrancar, Vizards, Fullbringers) were going to play a part in the fight against the Quincy.... But nope.

The funny thing is Masahiro is the type that will "use her mask in a fight". But then Kubo never draw her in a situation where she needs to fight within the TYBW arc.
Well about that Hollow poisoning point, I dont believe the masks would help much. Bambietta is a direct counter to Shinji's shikai & although Kensei & Rose would've probably lasted longer they would've still been defeated. Within Bleach, hollow poisoning had only been shown to work through insertion. White into Masaki, Hollow pills, Ayon into Quilge, so the Visords would have no way of poisoning the Quincies.
yes, they have to basically "absorb" the reiatsu in order to take damage from it like the case with Ayon or even through the shadow pills that affects the soul. This also makes sense why Uryu didn't get affected during his fights with hollows.
I actually disagree, what made the Vizards unique was their hollow powers. Yes, Bankais would definitely bring more attention to them but I think going down the Tosen route is the better solution, having them hone their personal unique traits would set them apart from every soul reaper and make them that unique sub faction that we once knew in the beginning of the arrancar arc. Imagine a fully hollowfied Shinji, Rose or Lisa. That would be insane and would once more bring the topic of hollowfication to the forefront in Bleach
Rather than giving the Vizards Bankais, I would honestly lean more into Resurreción, letting them throw away their pride of being prior Soul Reapers and lean into the side we haven’t seen much of. A full Hollowfication or a Resurreción would be extremely interesting to compare to Ichigo’s HoS form
In the Anime we see shinji touch Kisuke’s Hallowfication Pill and it lights up indicating his bankai has now been hallowfied. This would also indicate that he no longer has His hallow powers. The same can be assumed for Rose and Kensei. it may be that for all of thm to return as captains the must’ve had to give up their hallow powers
Thinking about the vaizards being failed experiments and the fact Ichigo gained his mask and shikai at the same time, even though his shikai was really just his quincy powers pretending to be a zanpakuto, maybe because they've already imprinted with their zanpakuto before becoming vaizards, the hollow powers and bankai are incompatible... either way, with bankai stealing enemies they should've led with masks

I think it had more to do with Vizards were perhaps restricted from using their hollowfication abilities in soul society (hence why they went outside of seireitei to train Hisagi with vizard powers), given that they didn't know at the start of the war that quincies were weak to hollow reiatsu its only later implied when kisuke's theory were proven right. This is why from now on it makes sense to see them use the masks when they are all gathered together for the final battle, although it might not mean much given Bankai is better to deal with the sternritters "power" as some of them can't be dealt with physically. Who knows, but we might get a in canon answer to all this in cour 3 and 4 as it doesn't need much time to explain it, etc.
Bring back their theme. That's all you need. Another thing give them ressureccions. Kubo said they could do it since Kaname did.

the problem with the Vizard is like if i spent a lot of time painting a rock some really cool colours..... and then i just left it in the corner, maybe dropped my coat and covered half of it up. doing nothing and easily glanced over no matter how it looks
I think its great idea overall but i gotta say love is my ninja and to me he just needs some good screen time as i think hes one of the strongest and Hachi I want him to get involved in a 2 v 2 with Tessai on his side so we can see some crazy kido combat before TYBW ends

Out of all Vizards, Love probably has the most potential. You are 100% wrong on that one.
Hes the strongest vizard left and it makes sense for him to be the one that maximizes the power. He should be the only vizard that unlocks resureccion, as he is the most cuttthroat out of all vizards left. Its the perfect storm to bring the strongest but least popular vizard to life.

The Visordes misstep. Clearly another case of Kubo with too many ideas in his head. Wish he get assistants and tasks them to dev each squad and then he gets the final say if its good or not.

I love the notion of masks and Hollowifcation. HELL my YT handle is what i think ichigo's incantation for his release would be. I am so bias towards it. So like why does hiyori,hachi? Atleast ichigo colored masks makes sense. Represents power progression and maybe assumiltion of reiatsu. Mashiro was stated to be able to hollowify the longest. Idk

Excluding Ichigo because of his special circumstances, do any of the Vaizards use Bankai and their mask at the same time? It's been a long time since I've watched that Arc and I can't remember
No, they don't. Not even in FKT, when Kensei first uses his bankai
@@ruonai.4195 I don't think they can use them at the same time then, Aizen said they were failed experiments, I think it's safe to assume the process in creating vaizards AFTER they imprinted their zanpakuto made using the mask incompatible with their bankai, like a divergent path rather than a skill

i think I might know the reason why they didnt put on the hollow mask. visords are a failed experiment they cannot use both shinigami and hollow powers at the same time. yes they can put on the mask while having a zanpakuto but we have never seen any visard use bankai while they were hollowfied. ichigo is a special case because he is the perfect combination of hollow, shinigami and quincy. ichigo is what aizen wanted visards to turn into but they failed. shinji has also quoted that using hollow mask is extremely tiresome and is impossible to maintain for more than a few minutes for them except mashiro so from a strategic point of view relying on bankai is logical than hollow mask. as bankai state can be maintained for longer periods of time.
we have seen shinji use hollowfication pills to hollowfy his bankai. doesnt make sense does it, if he already is able to hollowfy his bankai then why does he need those pills?

Visards are urredeemable at this point, Kubo in TYBW completely fumbled their appearances and on top of that treat them like a punching bags for others to look strong.
Quick few steps, first and foremost kill Byakuya off(my biggest issue in this arc), Renji Rukia fights As Nodt, Kensei and Rose uses hollow powers and have some cool battle but at the end demolish Mask, Rose won't yap about his powers and Kensei is careful and don't underestimate his opponent like a damn moron he was in the original, ding ding, points for Visards.
Shinji has few opponents he could take on instead of clowning himself in front of Bambietta like that, althought he fought offscreen with Bazz B let's give others more love. He was already fighting Toshiro, got a flashback later and fought with Hashwalth.
Robert, Pepe and Nanana were not utilized enough, they gang up on Shinji and Momo he uses Hollow mask but is overwhelmed, orders Momo to get off and she uses some kidou midou and runs off, Hirako steps to cover her and goes along with his Ban Kai, Robert eliminates Pepe(no sane person likes Pepe, and he has Zommari powers clone) and Nanana then avoids Shinji sneaking up on him and have a equal battle for some time until Mashiro drops down and wants to help but she's a goofy being and learns a lesson, Accutrone brutalizes Mashiro and reveals his Schrift, they fight offscreen and we get back to Roberts mental breakdown when Yhwachs uses Auschwalen, Roberts gets hit by the plot and Shinji still standing althought he's worn out.
Almost everyone outside maybe of Byakuya fans are happy, i like him but he is a very well estabiished character, and we need some space for others, his death could do more good for other characters like Rukia, Renji and Visards gaining some crucial developement, also it rises some stakes and don't cause one of the many fake out deaths we've been dealing lately.
Well... he would probably be back in the Hell arc anyway...
Also, why i amped up Robert? Because after his fight with Kyouraku i always tought of him as one of the stronger sternritters.
It's one of the few fan fictional scenarios that could have given the Visards some respect, because as i said, they are irredeemable for me now, they get completely clowned few times already even past in the Karakura town arc that it's just enough.
Overall i almost agree on everything in the video, Hachi is the only one standing strong in his position and can be treated seriously out of the entire group, but it's Kubo's fault, because the foundations for these characters are there, he just treated them like the damn trampoline for other characters to jump up higher.
First off everyone got clowned on back in FKT it was FRICKING AIZEN, NO SHIT! I agree the characters could have been utilized better but realistically that would have taken far too many chapters/episodes if we were to give each and every character the respective fight they deserved (it will be the arrancar pacing all over again). Rose "yap" about his power was an illusionary ability (similar to shinji banaki), people have misread or understood that scene completely wrong because it was implied as a gag and how his ability works. He is basically telling Mask what to do (basically listen to the music) which is part of the hypnotism of his bankai. Its similar in JJK where explaining your abilities/weaknesses actually increases your stats through heavenly restriction (although in JJK it can be abused to the point of plothole). Byakuya dying would have been too soon given that the character arc is not completed and would ended up like Nenji in Naruto + it would have taken a complete shit on Renji's goal since way back in SS. It could also have been an editor decision on it since that is a thing when its an "shonen" due to popularity pools, but who knows.

I did not misunderstood anything, im literally talking about changing how Rose abilities works for him to not look like a damn moron. Do not think of anything what i said applying to how it works now, the music alone should cause the illusion boost, the batute "stick" (i don't know how it's in english), should lead the music (hallucination) not words.
We are still on the topic of how to save Visards, and even then Byakuya is in the way so i will stand on the side of positive outcome from Byakuya's death for as long as i live.
While Visards were continuing being useless, Kubo uses Byakuya as some autopilot for offscreen fights all of the cast he didn't have time to.
I hardly rememeber what is going on in Naruto, but from what i watched i didn't really miss out Neji there, because there was a huge cast there not getting enough screen time.
Byakuya is even in better position since he is well estabilished character. He changed his ways of thinking, has more empathy and isn't just a yes man for the "organization' he sits in, he is a mentor to both Renji and Rukia, has his fair share of fights and screentime trough the all the arcs, the only thing is Renji not reaching his goal, and you know what?
It will never happen, it's time to free Renji from this shackles so he can go his own way. Also it looks ridiculous when a two guys in captain position are higher in ranks then a guy that defeats enemy that obliterated them and is seemingly stronger.
Most of the dead shinigami might come back anyway in hell arc, so nothing is lost, and we could even have some reunion, but at that time in TYBW it would cause some impact.
At this point he is just occupying the place, occupying the screentime we desperatly need for other characters.
As you say at the end, i think this is the reason of editors and popularity polls, we even have the three of the most popular guys fighting one enemy at one point and the fight is just prolonged for many chapters.
