    Bridging/ramping was the specific reason I bought waffle board fiberglass traction/bridging boards. They are more money at $250 and you have to consider the 2in lip (but there is grip all the way to the very end) and they're a bit heavy but they work for every application you described or demonstrated. They will support a fully loaded Defender 110 and barely deflect under the weight.

    I will vouch for Exitrax. I got them a while back. Very sturdily built and made of the same glass reinforced nylon as Maxtrax. They hold up in sun exposure very well. Can’t beat them for the price.
    One thing to call out though..if my memory serves me right from my research only the Extreme versions are made of glass reinforced nylon polymer. The lower versions are plastic. Which means they can crack if used in bridge application

    • @harleymichael281
      @harleymichael281 Před 2 lety +1

      Prashant Kumar great information. Huge difference between glass reinforced nylon polymer and lower end plastics. I am very glad to know this. Been eyeing (waiting on) the newer version of Rototrax. However I can't discount these Exitrax - Ultimate 1150 and with the ability to connect and use the the connection for the high lift Jack is a valuable additional tool .

    Nice review. My concern is not whether they work and to be honest it didn't expect any of them to fail the getting stuck test... it's longevity... the black ones especially will suck up UV and get very hot in the sun... the plastic will dry and crack if they're left in the sun... I wish the did these in a tan color to reduce the damage that the sun will do... and make them cooler to touch..

    Maybe a dumb question .... but here goes .... how many boards to a box for under $200.00?

    • @AdventureBuilt
      @AdventureBuilt  Před 2 lety

      Two boards per box. Recovery boards always come in a set. No dumb questions here.

      I use small carriage bolts in my prinsu rack with fender washers and wing nuts. I hate the system but it never squeaks or wobbles. Haven’t gotten around to anything better yet.

    Great vid never knew you could use those as bridge assistance. How do they mount to the Cali raised roof rack ? I’ve bought that been waiting two months .. hope to get it soon. So I can get my first set of recovery boards.

      Thanks so much. Trevor uses the Yakima roof rack straps to hold down his Exitrax. Solid and fast to deploy. I use long bolts and wing nuts. I hate it but have more pressing projects.

    Good luck breaking or melting Go Treads. They are designed for heavy machinery so they just aren’t going to break or get damaged getting a pickup out. They’re great for trucks because they can even handle semi trucks, tractors, whatever. If Go Treads won’t get you out, no recovery boards will. Time to get a winch and lockers
