The way you describe dual feelings, I feel the same way about my former manager with whom I felt (artificially!) too close - that I hate her for the influence she had on me to the level I don't want to ever be involved with her in any kind of way (out of my life for eternity, basically) but I also think how nice it would be to talk sometime. It's so weird!

Been there, done that. Yours experience is not far from mine. I have found love again after some time and I'm married again but some pain is still with me, for example I still don't know why, with her, I've lost all my friends.
I literally just got divorce yestarday...and even though my wife is now realizeing she made a mistake becuase of her rebound is on and off..let them sit with their guilt. And walk away . its hard and everything you said is very true.
