- Join us as we show you how to never run out of coal in Valheim. We will show you how to make a farm to get endless coal and surtling cores, and after this you will never need to put wood into a charcoal kiln again.

I always see people making kiln houses but never seen anybody do this. Blows my mind that these aren’t more widely used.
I make these all the time, but I have never linked them like you show. A couple of worlds ago, I had a location with FOUR geysers closely grouped. I built 2x2 stone paths to each from a central location and farmed the heck out of them. Wound up tossing the cores aside because I had so many.
New sub.
Four geysers close together is the stuff dreams are made of! I’ve found three close together a few times which is nice. Thanks for the sub, btw!😃
@@Sailor-X-Topher Current world on vanilla server has three in a line. I used my hoe to make a good path and make around 60 coal per trip. (Drop rate is 1.5, not 1.0.)
Do you guys have a Discord channel?
We don’t currently have a public discord channel, although that is something we have talked about possibly doing in the future. 😀
I build my surt run with stone. In a 4x4 configuration, I place 2x2 stone tiles around the geyser and below the water line. Next is a walkway of 10 side by side 2x2 stone floor tiles, although at some point the elevation increase will require a set of stairs. Then the floor of the hut is placed, which is a 4x3 configuration of the 2x2 stone tiles. Line the whole thing with 2x1 stone walls and stone pillars at the corners, then build walls using the 4x2 stone walls. I stack the walls 2 high. Put a roof on the hut, and there's plenty of room for the two portals, a workbench, stonecutter and a ward to protect the structure from swamp monsters damage. Two additional benefits: I put a wooden walkway across the top of the stone walkway and place my wisp fountains there for 24/7 wisp production; in the last stage, I put stairs going up on the inside of the walkway so I can run up and toss the cores into the swamp. That saves chest space and the workbench keeps the cores from despawning. Side note: I don't do the construction until the swamp has been completely cleaned out and I'm ready to move on. Otherwise, the geysers would not be available to use against abominations. Congratulations on the 50 subs, btw.
I love the idea of putting wisp fountains in there! We are really hoping the devs give us some new use for the surtling cores like maybe a fire grenade we can throw or something! And thank you!🙏🏻
I would *love* to see a screen shot of this.
@@nelsonhemstreet3568 Is there any way you can post a video to your channel? I can make a short video and post the link in your comments section. To be respectful to Sailor x Topher, I should not post it here.
@@theworldthatkristysees Post away! We’d love to see it also! 😄
@@theworldthatkristysees I do not have a CZcams channel and I have ZERO clue about how to make a video. Best I could possibly offer is screenshots.
This is really cool. Thank you for the video!
Hey thank you for watching! 🔥
Brilliant well done
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I've been doing this for quite some time now though honestly, fencing around them is totally unnecessary. Just plant a portal in a tree platform nearby and jump from one farm to another. Rinse and repeat. I get up to 2 chest of cores and start throwing them away. I generally keep a couple of chests of coal and when i use one up I start making runs to fill another.
I guess I missed how you never run out of coal again
Did you watch the video? Genuinely not even being sarcastic.
But chopping down trees for coal is so much fun!
😂
I have q i dont find answer to. If im afk farming this will the drops despawn after some time? I know if u drop something in building area ( around workbench ) it will not despawn. But in this afk farm workbench block spawns. So how does this work will it despawn after one hour or not?
I’m not sure how long it takes for items to despawn, but please let us know if you find out the answer. 😀
Doesn't it become a bug when loot accumulates too much?
We have never had an issue; the surtlings only spawn when you visit each spawner location so loot is only accumulating if you are actively collecting it anyhow.
