This is the most technical of the swims, as the arms need to almost fully complete their action just exactly in time for the leg kick. When you see a competition swimmer, it's like magic

The pelvic movement advice makes so much sense. I feel this mechanical movement was something I was missing during my swim. I've been wondering why lower body parts were sinking after each kick; this might be the reason I feel slow during the kick. Now I just have to practice this pelvic movement during my training. Thank you for this instructional video.

even though kicking in breaststroke will cause knee pain. the movement is abnormal and you need to keep as close knees as possible if you swim in races. to avoid that you only can rest and at least power up the quadriceps of the legs (front upper part of the knee). as a result the muscle will keep the knee in the proper position thus protecting the knee and redusing the pain. you will at least have to exercise 2 to 3 times a week for at least 2 to 3 power sets of 5 after warm up will big resistance to bring back the knee in the proper position. its best when you swim to avoid breastroke every day .For example if you swim in competitions you can train aerobic freestyle and do the lactates breastroke in the in beetween days. If you are younger at age and dont feel pain is normal but dont rest your mind, in the least case senario you will end up with some pain in the future so take notes and train properly. It is normal due to the abnormal way of the kick style. If you dont swim for competitions then avoid the closed knees technighk and use a more open wide kick , its less damaging but slower for races. (last tip) Breaststroke is a power stroke if you want to get better you can warm up properly and look directly down during the stream like phase (bringing the lower back higher than the head position will give you easy speed and bigger strokes)

the movement is not abnormal at all. low intensity breaststroke is the most natural swimming method and best for long distances in open water

Improve your hands movement and also to reach that high, youre not relying only by your hands movement but also your upper limb (torso)

This is a good video about breaststroke kicks that I've see in CZcams. Good tip for swimmers, however the kicks need to be coordinated with the arm pulls and your upper body efficiently. Thanks for the video.

If we come up so high to breathe, doesn't the returning time (to submerge head back in) elongate the propulsion time thus slowing the speed. What if we just pop the head out a bit to breathe instead of getting the torso out?

Noticing dolphin motion of body, head down butt up with whip kick. However, I was told men keep knees closer in kick, women wider at knees in kick. Recalling old rule about head NOT below water and how this change encourages dolphin motion?

Hi, this is Ed Accura , co-founder of the Black Swimming Association and producer of the film documentary A Film Called Blacks Can’t Swim.
I personally believe that Black Youth Culture could be what breaks the cycle of the generation-long issue with a disproportionate amount of black people NOT swimming
I would like to hear your views and comments on the 2 info videos I WON’T SWIM and THINK ABOUT IT.
    Let's change the narrative.
