I've been watching some Rsd videos and from there I found this on the side and have since been watching Matthew's videos as much of what he has to say applies to men too. It really is funny how it's the same exact stuff (except this is for women of course), but most people will never see that men and women are actually more alike as you said

I've come to realize this also. There is more than just one person for everyone. There are many potential partners to choose from. How devastating it is when you think the person you are with is the ONLY person for you, and then they cheat! Now you have to deal with the thought that there is nobody else in the world who could make you happy. That's insane!

So tired of holding myself down, wondering and trying to understand whats happening. Instead: I NEED to do MY thing, developing MYself and be open to all that love thats out there in the world. Rather than being strung along by ONE person alone, making me feel like I have to accomplish something I don't understand or to wait for him to give me attention - that I should give myself! why do we make ourselves slaves to one person to get approval and affection? Because we want to be loved.. But there is so much love out there - and I guess if I am wondering about them and their love towards me - why would I stay in that dark and self-destructive position? OK, so you wanted to hear our story. I'll make it short and sweet. Yes, I was focused on just "one guy" once, but at least at the time, I was still "hooking up" with and meeting new guys, but I mainly had my eyes on this "one guy". The "one guy" who would "booty call" me all the time. It always seemed like the guys that I was attracted to and wanted a relationship with didn't want one from me, and the guys that were attracted and wanted a relationship from me, I didn't want the same from them. Then, one day it hit. It truly was love at first sight. The guy of my dreams. He had dark eyes, dark complexion, had an advanced degree, liked working out and travelling (same as me). We eventually married and traveled the world together!!! We have been married 19 years and have 2 girls now ages 17 and 14. It's been an adventurous life together and here is to many more to come!! It was all about making myself the person that I wanted to become.
This is great advice, but it's so hard to apply when you're already in the situation. When you've invested so much thought into a certain person, it seems like everyone else becomes totally unattractive and you only care about getting that one person.

Coming from the demographic of Christian's I have found this not only easy to succumb to but sometimes women and men in the church get kind of freaky in that they think the reason there is only one person is that they are sent by God and they have to be "the one". I however tend to think "prove to me your the one" hahaha I have also found that a lot of Christian men tend to get upset if you flirt with other men when they have not even made the effort to tell you they want to date you. He kept on not giving me attention and disappearing and whenever I used to walk away, he used to come to beg me to stay and starts to give me lots of attention for like 2 weeks and then goes back to disappearing and acting weird. I always have him space because I thought he needed it. I was always so loyal I didn't even make male friends. Until I couldn't help but get into his phone and I discovered that he has a relationship with more than 6 women. And now I totally understand what you are saying Mathew, I wish I have seen this video before years ago. I wish I had the awareness, but it is ok I've learned a lot from this man and I became now stronger than ever.
