    I have what I believe to be a full spectrum led grow light. The main issue is that it's a cheaper setup and the LED drivers (4) are unmarked and two of the 4 are not working. How can I test them and how can I determine which drivers would be needed to replace the non working ones?

      You need to make sure the driver you choose has these same 3 specifications as the LEDs which are:
      1. Total Wattage which is: 18W
      2. Voltage which is: 12V DC
      3. Constant voltage output (not constant current)
      This type of driver is one of the most popular. I would recommend the Mean Well LPV-20-12 which meets this specification, although their are 100s of variations on the market:

    Wow, I cut my 16ft LED strip into 2 halves as a portion near the incoming power supply from a 12V, 6A unit, changed from the blue to a yellowish color? Any idea why? The incoming Voltage drops from 12.32V (No Load) to 11.85V when the 8ft. Strip is on, and, the Voltage at the other end of the 8ft. Strip is 10.30V. Is this the norm as I presumed in a parallel circuit the Voltage remains constant? By the way every section where it says U can cut the strip has 3 LEDs.

    • @kennmossman8701
      @kennmossman8701 Před 4 lety +1

      1) changed from the blue to a yellowish color? Probably the voltage /current is too low. This can occur when dimming at extremely low levels
      2) incoming Voltage drops from 12.32V - unloaded (no load) voltage is often higher, especially on cheap power supplies
      3) other end of the 8ft. Strip is 10.30V - indicates a cheap strip as the copper buss carrying the power is too thin/narrow

      7. lighting is a continuous load, therefore you need to factor out 1.25, [15/1.25=12], from the circuit capacity as per the NEC, leaving you with 12amps to use. 200w/120V = 1.67. 12/1.67 = 7.18. so you can use 7 as long as there's nothing else on the 15A circuit.
