We cannot promise that your ongoing, tax-deductible monthly support will save polar bears and stop global warming (if there were such a thing). But we can promise that we will wisely use every penny you entrust to us to preach the Gospel to as many people as possible. Thank you for trusting us.
"as often as you do this, do this in remembrance of Me"
Amen bring us the Lord's Supper
I completely agree Voddie
“at least once a week,”
- John Calvin, Institutes, 4.17.43
pope calvin 😂
💯 Absolutely.
Acts 20:7 is not a common meal but indeed the Lords Supper
ACTS 20 : 7 AND UPON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK , ( WHEN ) THE DISCIPLES CAME TOGETHER TO BREK BREAD , !!!
I don’t like how every church I’ve been to does Communion like once per month or on holidays.
As M. Luter suggested!
So surprising a so called pastor is asking what verse in the Bible says the Lords supper should be done every Sunday! Just interesting!
What verse says you should play music every Sunday?
Act 20:7 is the verse! Upon the first day of the week!
Let the tree be good and its fruits will also be good!
Such a blind leading the blind, the end thereof is the ditch!
Acts 20: 7...?
Can I take communion if I’m saved but not yet baptized?
No.
It was a meal…should we get back to that?
no it was not. Paul rebukes the corinthian church for treating it as a meal in 1 Corinthians 11.
No he doesn’t. He rebuked them for the division. It was a full meal and they hated their own Christian brothers because others went hungry. He literally ends by telling them to wait for one another to eat. Jesus gave us it during the Passover meal. He is the Passover lamb and the meal is 100% apart of it.
@@John14Verse6
Incorrect, Paul tells them to eat and get drink at their own houses before they come and partake in the Lord's Supper.
”Therefore when you come together it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper, for when you eat, each one takes his own supper first; and one goes hungry while another gets drunk. What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I do not praise you.“
1 Corinthians 11:20-22 NASB2020
Jesus gave the Lord's supper, it is something we should always do when we come together.
Yeah we should.
There is this phrase given in dealing with the Communion "As oft as you..." which is not said about with music, or baptism or anything else. Really Love Voddie but this is a bad justification for this standard. It's not a bad standard, but in every Worship? doesn't happen even in Voddies church. There is not even a command or example to do so on the Lord's Day
So, being careful to follow the Scripture and the instructions of the apostle Paul, who had a lot of personal time with the risen and ascended Christ , is legalistic? Call me legalistic all day and night! Thank you Brother for pointing this out. It's not our job to judge each other, but it is our job to obey The Lord's instructions about worship. 😊🙏
Voddie might become Catholic! God Bless!
He wouldn't need to become catholic. Possibly more reformed because true reformed tradition holds the Lords supper to high esteem. some Catholics make the mistake of lumping all protestants together into an evangelical style of church, but the original reformers and Lutherans have a high view of sacraments, creeds, and church beauty.
