- The only situation I've used transcendence for so far, pretty good for this specific minigame though; just so many more efficient usages of ATB (it does give you a buff though so could be useful occasionally in normal fights). Sephiroth saw this minigame and decided the world wasn't worth saving
This minigame was an absolute slaughter with Yuffie. Had no problem maxing out my score with her. And then it was absolutely dismal as Aerith. Rebirth is still one of the best games I've played, but stuff like this and the double bomb fight as solo Aerith could have used some refinement. It's difficult for me to find her useful when solo battles with anyone else are super fun, but she's agonizingly slow and weak. I understand if she's supposed to be a support class, but if that's the case, don't make us do solo battles with her.
Elemental-fire combo on her armor made that bomb fight doable, otherwise no idea how youre supposed to get it done

I used Lustrous Shield to block Fireball, then Arcane Ward Magnify Blizzara spam along with Sorcerous Storm once they were both staggered. Took a couple tries though.
Ur using her wrong then. Aerith is one of the strongest characters lol you just gotta build her around her weaknesses, not her natural strengths. Check it:
Ur prob using magic boosts and a bunch of spells n just waiting for a Ra or Ga to cast elemental weaknesses. That's functional but wrong...ur spending alot of time just standing and doing nothing, then getting bullied cuz u cant run away.
Equip her with Hermes. She doesn't need more magic power or mp, she already has the most lol she needs burst atb potential.
And instead of having every spell, give her copies of 1 or 2 spells with multiple linking, then First Strike and ATB Boost. Her radience ward (stacks with arcane ward for x2 spells, PLUS synergy materia if u want) makes her an invincible rock while she drops an unstoppable nuclear bombardment.
In other words, she doesn't need to move. Oh and her basic attack is slow because it's a shotgun, so use it like one. She multitargets at mid range. Think of her as a pump action shotty that can call in enough artillery to erase most bosses in one stagger.
I found Aerith easier than Yuffie 3.
These mini games make me want to be stuck in a room with Sephiroth.
Unlike almost every other mini-game, this one and the push-ups mini-game sucked and actually made me put down the controller for a bit.
This mini game I understand why Sephiroth want to blow up that world.
You know right before I went inside I thought to myself "Watch they make us use Aerith the most annoying one". Times like this I wish I was wrong.
A few tips for those struggling with this:
1 - While using Shadow/Luminous Ward, YOU ARE INVULNERABLE! Also you can use them back-to-back and stay invulnerable. No need to use Evade at all.
2 - Don't lock on to targets! While mashing square to full combo, move your analog stick around to target different cactuars and get rid of as many as possible while building ATB.
3 - Assign shortcuts only to Soul Drain and Sorcerous Storm. When enemies group around you, use SS. When big cactuars lay down, use SD.

I finally got the dark matter. Transcendence didn’t work for me but soul drain did. More importantly I kept messing up at first before I forgot that I need to be outside the ward for the gladiatuars
Very helpful! Soul drain worked perfectly as well as sorcerous storm (for the rarer ones)
Fun tip: if you cast Sorcerer Storm while the Cactuar is doing the Body Slam you won't get kicked up in the air (nor will you have to dodge it and lose time whacking him).

This mini game feel like punishment when play as aerith :( , build up ATB and kill thing without magic using aerith is not fun at all. Thank you for upload the video, if aerith also get some dark matter, i will suffer then XD
Update for anyone want to get party level to 10 and max item craft, you need dark matter from the standard cactuar mini game, and 5exp pt from the hard cactuar mini game. To get 6k+ point with aerith, you need to know how to use her unique ability "transcendant" or something i dont know english well. But that ability need to prioritize cast whenever you have 1 ATB and it wil automatically enhance over time, when it full, 1 cast from it can do 70-80% dmg to big cactuar or kill them, and during the time it auto charge, aerith basic attack enhanced as well. And block the bomb wont - points(in case of bad luck, get chain hit by bomb could get up to 3 hit), it take me about 2h to get all party exp from yuffie and aerith for hard cactuar mini game.
Still have no idea how Trascendence works, but that's the trick that did the trick haha. Thanks for the video
man playing ff7 makes me fucking hate minigames in any game. Im completely broken mentally from how many mini games there are in this game and how ridiculously difficult some of them are. I get soo sidetracked from these minigames that you forget the main plot of the game. This is fucking terrible!

Damn.. I thought I was the only one. I forgot the main plot because of how many mini games in the side quest just to get good items/weapons and the main game where they force you to play mini games to progress the story

You can check my comment above, the hard mini game also increase party exp by 5 per game. In case you want pt level 10, it is unavoidable :(

No problem, thanks for watching. It is pretty good in a few other random scenarios or if you need a source of non elemental damage and don't have a time constraint; not sure how good the buff is (when it's active increases your magic attack and lowers your magic defense)

It took me some time to figure out that you can smack the light and dark cactuar with a physical attack so that they lose their magicward buff.🙈
This saved me a good amount of time, cause i always waited till the buff depleted.😅
Playing with Aerith is like only using pawns in chess.

When the magiturs go immune you HAVE TO PHYSICALLY HIT THEM to stop them from being immune, while they are running from you. You can't do that if you don't chase them. For everything else your right. But your completely wrong when it comes to the magiturs RnG deciding to make them immune to all magic randomly.

The thing that makes this Minigame """""Hard""""" is when you accidentally dodge to move faster but it locks you into her melee animation rather than ranged auto attack. Its fucked me up on the last 3 times cactuars at around 3.3k points twice now

I tried to complete the mission without that ability but it just seems not possible to even reach 2000. I cannot get past rhe gigantuars.

It's one of the final unlocks on the folio grid for Aerith, just before her level 3 limit break unlock

You alternate Yuffie and Aerith for these, I think its 1st and 3rd are Yuffie and 2nd and 4th are Aerith
It's so easy with Yuffie. Use Windstorm ability and a weapon that increases Wind damage
Im so confused, why do i see everyone useing aerith with shadow ward nd luminous ward, i never used them in the entire game and dont know where to get them
They're given to you just for this minigame. L2 to activate luminous, R2 to activate shadow. It's in the tutorial for it.

This, and almost every mini-game would be better if success wasnt pretty much solely based on good RnG. It absolutely kills all the fun. Especially because transedance doesn't always work. When it does its great, but thats only about half the time. And really beeting this challenge comes down to one thing and one thing ONLY. How long it takes forvthe gigantaur to use the body slam ability. It can be a few seconds or 30 seconds, which completely kills all chances of succes if just doesn't use it. Its like thet made all these mini-games to extend play time, oh right because thats exactly what they did. Every single mechanic has been made to ensure success takes way way longer then it should. That way they have good play time numbers. Theses devs do NOT care in the slightest bit if the game is actually fun, its only about play time. Which is fricken stupid. If the game is actually fun people will play it for longer. Its common sense, something the people who made this game dont possess.
It doesn’t help when most of the mini games seem to exist only to show off the god awful adaptive triggers gimmick

All the minigames are either timed or severely dexterity dependent.... The core game is great but the minigames have been an extreme chore for me because of finger problems, and simply gave up on some of them.

No one in their right mind will call this mini game fun. It’s a chore to get the dark matter. It’s a requirement to get lvl 16 Transmutation.
Someone in SE hit their head very hard before making this.
@@Bairyhalls47 I said they're EITHER timed or dexterity based :) And yes i gave up on getting those last 6 Dark Matter, i will never be able to beat the Dolphin game.
And i agree, they overdid it with the minigames, but at least the core game was good.
@@melanp4698 Dolphin is pretty easy, once you memorise the course and always on nitro, some obstacles near the end need to be aware of, but not that hard. 3-4 tries and you get it.
What was ridiculously hard is latest races in chocobo silver cup (lol, I managed to complete with 1st place a gold championship on 1st try, but not the damned previous courses in silver), last course for the air chocobo mini-game (especially landing at the end with perfect score with those rings out of places) and Sephiroth in 3D Brawler. The latter was the worst, my reflexes got rusty with age. You not only need to memorise all patterns and animations but also do it lightning fast. BECAUSE if you counter it, but late, you're only block his attack which results in getting him an LB boost and you are not progressing with kicking him, he's only opens after dozen succesful hits or fully evaded fast red combo -- it's almost like hittng just frames in fightning game, well, but that RPG, lol). You're failed on hits, combos or only blocked him? He'll get that sweet LB boost and wreck you soon. Wasted around 5+ hours on it alone.
I've done them all and feeling burned out on game. Gonna finish the story (I'm literally enjoying every second of it after that bad chores) and play something other for a while. Maybe I'm not even bother to complete it 100% like Remake and Yuffie DLC which was ten times chiller.
After all those mini-games? Never again. In Part 3 I'll do only the battle stuff. Screw this shit. Quantity over quality. At least TEST your stuff, ffs! I know it's INTENDED to be hard. I don't argue, the battle sim stuff and muscleman bouts are fair challenge where you need to figure tactics and do builds + appropriate situations thinking. The battle system is great. The Queen's Blood are AMAZING. And I love the game but majority of those mini-games are abysmal. Guys who was in charge of that need to go study more on the game design. I wonder if they even played it and got high score.
